They each had lost two pokemon, but it was still a fact that Sabrina had the upper hand. Sabrina, being a gym leader, knew a lot more than Diana did. Diana knew, though, that at least one of her stolen pokemon wouldn’t obey. She just wasn’t sure which. “Geyser, use Ice Beam!” Diana said. Espeon was hit by the blast of, well, ice. Sabrina was still angry, and yelled, “Don’t you get it?! You cannot win whether you like it or not! Espeon, use Confuse Ray!” “I may not be able to win, but I have to try,” Diana thought to herself. “Use Hydro Pump!” Diana commanded as Geyser shot a huge water pump. “Espeon, use Psybeam!” Sabrina shouted, as Espeon obeyed. Geyser fainted at the powerful psychic attack, and Diana was getting more and more worried. Diana wasn’t sure what to do, but decided to use her starting pokemon, which was probably her best. “Nicky! Go!” Diana said loudly, as a Meganium arrived out of another red and white ball. “Use Slash!” Sabrina ordered. Espeon looked back at Sabrina, and cocked it’s head. Wingtaker thought to himself, “Apparently, that Espeon doesn’t know Slash. Otherwise, it would be attacking. Sabrina should at least know it’s moves before using it in battle.” Diana said, “Perfect. Espeon doesn’t know Slash. Nicky, Use Focus Energy!” Sabrina implied, “I’m not sure why you’re using such an attack. Oh well. Espeon, use Agility!” Espeon went faster than usual, and hit Nicky with it’s body. “Use Sunny Day!” Diana commanded. The sun got brighter, again. “Espeon, use Sand Attack!” Sabrina growled. “Use Solar Beam!” Diana said, and Nicky shot a huge light wave which completely obliterated Espeon. Sabrina growled fiercely, and then said, “Go, Girafarig!” “Nicky, use Razor Leaf!” Diana commanded. Nicky summoned a flurry of very sharp leaves, which were hurled at Girafarig. Sabrina said, “Use Stomp!” Girafarig lay down, and yawned. “This is one of them that won’t obey,” Wingtaker thought, “Good. Now Diana has the advantage.” Diana grinned, and said, “Nicky, use Leech Seed!” Seeds went into Girafarig’s skin, and were somehow connected to Nicky. They healed Nicky slightly, ridding of the damage from Agility. Sabrina was getting more and more infuriated as each attack from Diana passed, and now she roared, “You stupid Girafarig! Use the most powerful psychic attack you have or you will suffer!!” Girafarig looked at Sabrina for a second, blinked, and thought, “What a jerk. I’m not going to work for her.” When Girafarig didn’t attack, Sabrina’s eyes began to glow, and Girafarig began to feel pain. In Sabrina’s anger, she began crushing Girafarig’s bones slightly. “Enough!” Wingtaker said, “Stop hurting that Girafarig!” With Wingtaker trying to order Sabrina around, she only became more angry and hurt Girafarig even more. “I said stop!” Wingtaker roared, spacing out the words slightly. After Sabrina wouldn’t stop, Wingtaker became nearly as angry as Sabrina was, and he sent a huge psychic wave at Sabrina. This wave, though, as he sent it, shattered his sunglasses, revealing his usually gentle brown eyes, which were currently tainted with anger. The psychic wave of Wingtaker’s was visible, actually visible. A very light purple, almost transparent. In Sabrina’s shock and pain, she showed the white of her eyes, befuddled and astonished. “You…Who were you trained by?” Sabrina couldn’t help but ask. There was a silence from Wingtaker for a few seconds, and then he said, calmly, “Your father.” Sabrina gasped. Wingtaker continued, “He is dead now, but even when he was alive, I had surpassed his power. After that, I got bored, and began stealing. That was over a year ago. I haven’t really ever needed the powers he taught me, but honestly, I don’t want them.” “You were trained…by my father?” Sabrina asked, as if she couldn’t comprehend. Wingtaker only nodded, and then said, “You know me. You have known me. Since before you became a gym leader.” At this point, Diana and Faulkner looked at each other oddly, and then went back to watching. Sabrina was puzzled, and she asked, “Who are you?” Wingtaker sighed, and said, “I am your brother.” Everyone gasped, except Wingtaker of course. Sabrina quietly, almost nervously said, “…Brad?” And then, Sabrina had a flashback. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sabrina was about eleven, and she had come home to visit her family, which she had parted with about a year ago. Brad was in his room, on his PC, which had tons of games on it, mostly pokemon. Sabrina knocked on the door, and Brad said, “It’s open.” Sabrina crept up behind him, not making a sound, and tapped him on the shoulder. Brad gave out a frightened, for the most part quiet scream, and looked to see who it was. “Sabrina!” he shouted excitedly, and hugged her tight. He would start his own pokemon journey in two years. “Let go and I’ll give you a gift,” Sabrina said, running out of air. Brad quickly let go, and said really fast, “What is it?! What is it?! What is it?!” Sabrina pulled out of her backpack a small red and white ball. “This is yours,” she said. Brad said, “Wow! A pokemon?! No way!” Sabrina replied, “I called mom and dad and asked if it was okay if you could have it as a pet, and use it for battle when you become a trainer. They said it was alright.” “I can’t wait! Pokeball, Go!” Brad yelled gleefully, as he threw the ball. A small bird appeared out of it, and said, “Poogey.” “A Pidgey! Awesome! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You’re the best sister ever in the whole galaxy!” *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Wingtaker said no more, but grabbed a red and white ball, enlarged it, and sent it out. Out came a Pidgeot, wings spread and as well groomed and well tamed as ever. “It is you…” Sabrina said amazed. Wingtaker said, “Now will you stop hurting that Girafarig?” Sabrina looked down, sadly, and nodded. Diana asked, “Uhh, can we get on with the battle now?” Sabrina looked up, and became determined again.
