Will I ever get out of dis ting…? I thought to myself. I could have said it out loud but they people in black would not have understood me. I was young, and didn’t speak fully accurately. I was in a cage on the back of a truck. In the front, there were two people in black driving the vehicle. They had plucked me from my home in the wilderness, and it had been several hours since then. I was worried, and I didn’t know what to do. The cold metal bars were much too strong for me to break out of, and for the last half hour or so I had just sulked in the corner. It wasn’t very big, either. Not roomy, no food. I was frightened and hungry. There must be some kinda way out… I thought. I saw a key on a hook in the inside of the truck, but I knew I couldn’t get it. I had tried using my claws several times and failed. I felt a few tears come to my eyes, and let out a huge, “Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeev!” “Shut that stupid Eevee up!” One of the men said. “Be quiet you damn pokemon! The easier you make it for us the less we’ll have to hurt you!” The other yelled. I sniffled a couple more times, and curl up in the corner. I didn’t know what was going on. Who are dey? Whaddu dey want with me? Where am I going? Several questions flowed into my mind. They sky darkened over the next few hours, and I looked up at the stars. I let out a sad, “Reev…” I fell asleep within a few minutes. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* I woke to the voice of one of the people in black. “Are we almost there?” he said. “Shut your trap. A few minutes,” The other replied. Well at least now I can find out where dey’r takin me. I said to myself. “Do you think the boss will like this?” One of the humans asked. “Yeah. Eevee is a rare pokemon, Chad. He’ll like it, I’m sure,” he replied. Boss? Who is dat? I wondered to myself. Before I could think about it anymore, the truck stopped. “Alright, let’s go, Chris,” Chad said. Chris nodded and asked, “Do you think that he’ll let one of us keep it?” “Doubt it,” Chad responded. In a minute or so, the two humans were hauling my cage into a big building, which I could only assume the boss and more black dressed people were in. After inside, I looked around. It was spacious, and apparently well kept. It was very clean, and there were more members of the group walking around. What is dis place? I asked myself, not expecting a reply. About a minute after scanning the area around me, they brought me inside the elevator. When inside, I saw a poster that read, “Team Rocket”. So that’s what dey’r called? Team Rocket? Sounds evil… I thought to myself. The elevator stopped at the floor before the roof. They took me down the hall, into a huge room mostly in shadow. There was a desk and a chair at the end. I saw a cat figure being patted. “Boss. We have something I think you’ll like,” Chad said. “Show me,” A creepy voice said, who was apparently the boss. He turned his chair around, but I couldn’t see his face because of the shadows. Chad and Chris brought the cage up to him, and set it down on his desk. “An Eevee. Wonderful. A rare pokemon always gets a high reward,” The Boss said. Reward? Dey take pokemon like me away from dey’r family and home to get some cash? At my thoughts, I growled in disgust. “Very nice work,” The Boss continued, “This gets good money.” Chris and Chad smiled as the mysterious boss handed them small stacks of bills. When the two grunts left the room, The Boss snapped his fingers. Another grunt came into the room, and said, “What do you ask of me?” The Boss replied, “Take this Eevee to the Chamber.” “Yes, sir,” the servant said. As the servant/grunt picked up the cage, I noticed he didn’t look nearly as fierce as the others. He looked depressed. Why does he look so sad? Who is he? What exactly’s da Chamber? I continued to ponder over many things as he took into the elevator. Gathering up courage, I said in a low voice, “Ree?” “Huh? You want to talk or something?” he asked. He was definitely a lot younger than the others. Only eleven or twelve instead of fifteen or sixteen. I blinked twice, then gave a little nod. “Alright, I guess. Listen closely,” the young boy said. Before he continued, he looked up at a security camera in the corner at the top. Then, he whispered to me, “I’m not really part of Team Rocket. I’ve been here for two days now, and I’m trying to let all the pokemon free. Trust me, you don’t want to be here. I promise, I’ll do everything I can to help get you and all the others out of here, but for now, I have to make it look like I am a part so nobody gets suspicious of me.” I understood, and nodded happily. I wanted to help, but didn’t know how. For a moment, I had forgotten that I was a pokemon, so I said out loud, “Eev Re, Reevi Reev?” Oh, yeah…I forgot… I thought to myself. “I can’t tell you my name yet. The security camera, if it could hear us…well, I’d get in big trouble. I’m an enemy of the Team’s,” The boy replied. “Reev Re Everi?!?!” I shouted. The boy blinked twice, then said, “Yeah. I can understand pokemon language. I’ve had lots of practice with my own pokemon.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------- Disclaimer: Okay, a few things. First off, the boy IS from the show, but it ISN’T Ash. Also, in the next chapters, Frolic is speaking in pokemon, but I’ll translate it for you so you can understand. The boy is the translator. Oh, and I do not own pokemon. The boy also doesn’t get Frolic, but does nickname it. Please review.
