Pokemon of the Carribean Disclaimer~I don't own Pokemon, or Pirates of the Carribean. Please note that while there are similarities, this is not a rehash of the Pirates of the Carribean movie with the names of Pirates of the Carribean charcters replaced with the names of charcters in pokemon. Also remember the time of this fic, is back in the 1700s (or whatever year pirates existed in) just so you can understand the dress and attitudes of the ppl back then. I also had to alter some of the Pokemon TV series plot, just letting you guys know so you won't get to confused. (example~Misty only traveled with Ash through the Orange Islands and there was no Tracey Sketchit) That's all for now, and please review!! I love reviews, good or bad, so feel free to say what you think. PS, any thing in (parenthesis) are my notes that I have added. ~lonepichu `````````````````````````````````````` Young Misteria, heiress to Cerulean Island, had just returned home from her Pokemon quest. She had been gone eight years since she had started her journey when she was ten (that makes her eighteen). It felt good to be home, and she ran up the stairs to her room. She let out her long red hair from the ponytail that she had it pulled into. She then got dressed into a blue gown and brushed her hair. Afterwards she put it into a bun on the back of her head. She was getting dressed up because her father was throwing a banquet in honor of her return. Then Misteria released her favorite pokemon and best friend; a Togetic that she had since it was a Togepi. It flew around her head and landed on her dresser. "Toge?" it inquired at Misteria's apperance. Togetic had never seen her so dressed up in the six years it had known her. "Oh, my old friend, there is a banquet that we are to attend in honor of my return home. It is a known fact that a banquet is a celebration where everyone must dress up, including you." Misteria said as she took a bowtie from one of her dresser drawers and put it around Togetic's neck. She made sure that she tied it loosely so Togetic wouldn't be choked by it. "Misteria! The guests will arrive soon, come on down." she heard her father yell from downstairs. Her father was mayor of Cerulean island, and even though he had a beautiful daughter that would one day inherit Cerulean island, he prided himself most of all on his army. He was usually busy with the army and was hardly ever seen without the army's general. The general was a young man named Daniel Brown. When Misteria was of age(22), her father had arranged for her to marry General Daniel, however he had yet to go public with the news of the marrige that he had arranged. Times like this made Misteria miss her mother. Her mother had died when she was really young, but after her mother's death her father never really paid her much mind, Misteria thought it was because of the fact that she looked so much like her mother. Misteria had practicly raised herself and had left on her Pokemon journey as soon as possible, so that she wouldn't have to be with her father anymore. Now she was back, it was if nothing had changed. Well, except for the fact that her father was now more on her to act like a lady since she would be married in four short years. Whenever Misteria wrote to her father, his replies were always the same. 'Misteria, is it really lady-like to travel so much?' or 'Are you practiceing good manners and loyalty? If you are to be wed, you must subject total loyalty to your husband.' She sighed as she sat down to put on her Aguamarine dress shoes. She would have liked to stay on her journey, but she knew that if she hadn't come back when she did, that her father would have sent someone to gather her and bring her back to him. She mainly knew this because he had threatened to do it in one of his letters. "Well, Togetic, I guess we should head down now, but how I wish I didn't have to attend this banquet." she sighed once more as a tear fell from one of her sea-blue eyes, she then sat on the edge of her bed. "Togetic, I just know Fathers going to press General Daniel and me to get together. Between you and me, I don't really like Daniel all that much." "Togetic, tic?" Togetic inquired, as he flew over to her and landed beside her. "Oh, Togetic don't be ridicules. I don't love anyone else." Misteria said with a blush. Togetic gave her a dis-believing look. "Alright, but you have to keep it a secret." Togetic nodded it's head. "Well, you know that boy, Ash, that we traveled with around the Orange Islands?" Togetic nodded it's head. "I think I might love him, but I know that Father will just think that because he isn't in the army that he must be some kind of hooligan." Togetic smiled, he had suspected that his trainer might like Ash. He also knew that from what Misteria had told him about her father, that their love would never be allowed. Togetic wished it could make Misteria happy, but didn't know how. "Misteria, hurry up. I don't have all day. A lady is never late and comes when called." her Father called up to her. "Coming Father." Misteria called back as she got up and walked out of her room, and towards the entrance-way of her house. "Great, there he goes again with all that lady-like buisness again." she thought as Togetic flew beside her. She reched the entrance-way where her father was waiting. He looked at her, then examined her appearance. "Not bad," he said as he had her turn around, "except that your dress is wrinkled in the back, did you sit down while dressing?" her father asked her as he walked around her, observing the dress. "Yes, but just on the edge of my bed." Misteria said as her father took her dressed and straitened it up. "A lady does not sit while dressing because of this exact outcome. Luckily it was only a few wrinkles, but lets not let this happen again, alright?" "Yes," Misteria mumbled. "Yes, what?" her Father asked with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, sir." Misteria mumbled again. "And another thing, a lady does not mumble." "Yes, sir" Misteria said in a clear voice. "That's better, now go wait in the ball room while the guests arrive." "The ball room? I thought we were having a banquet!" Misteria exclaimed in surprise, then added "Sir." "Well, we have had a change of plans. As you know, when you are of age, you will be wed to General Daniel Brown. Tonight, you two are to announce that before all those invited, isn't that exciteing?" her father said excitedly. "Yeah," Misteria said in a quiet voice. "Is there anything wrong with my Misty?" Misteria's father asked her, calling her by the nickname her mother had given her. "No, I'm fine." Misteria said as she walked to the ball room. As she walked, she glanced out one of the windows and saw the ocean waves breaking along the shore. She had always loved living in a mansion by the ocean, but at that moment she would have liked to be anywhere else. Even though she wanted to tell her father what was wrong, he wouldn't understand. All he did was care about the army, and having her marry someone in the army. Togetic flew beside her as she walked and brushed Misteria's cheek with his arm. Misteria smiled. "Maybe I should marry a pirate just to spite Father." she said as she stepped into the ball room, which was already set up for the celebration. Despite her father's warnings, she sat down and purposefully wrinkled her dress. ``````````````````````` All the quests had arrived and had seated themselves at the long table on the side of the room. They had only expected a banquet, but whenever the mayor held a celebration in the ball room, there was always dancing. His lively celebrations and the fact that he also congregated with some of the commoners, made Misteria's father quite a popular man. He had been in term for over twenty years, and no one ever ran against him. The mayor surveyed his guest's, especially General Daniel, with joyful eyes. At the other end of the table two of the invited guests, whose names were Henrietta and Phillip, were talking about the change of celebration from banquet to ball. "I wonder why he changed, he usually is a man of his word. Not that I'm complaining about Mayor John's change, his balls are always so lively and happy." Henrietta said to her husband Phillip. "Hmm, I wonder..." Phillip thought as he put a finger to his chin, as he often did while thinking. "Wonder what?" Henrietta inquired at her husband. She was known as the town gossip, and was likely to spread the events of the ball around with such detail, that even the commoners and others that weren't invited would feel as if they were actually there. "I wonder if Mayor John(Misteria's Father) has found a young man to give his daughter to when she becomes of age." Phillip said as he tapped his finger against his chin. Henrietta was going to respond, when Mayor John clinked a wine glass with his fork to get everyone's attention. The conversations deminished, and soon the room was silent. "I have an announcement to make, however now is not the time for speaking. Now is the time for feasting. Now my cooks have made plenty of food, so please feel free eat all that you can. When we all are finished, I will make my announcement and than, we shall dance the night away in the ball that I organized at the last minute because of my announcement." Mayor John sat down and snapped his fingers. On cue, butlers came from all sides carrying trays of food to all that had gathered, and no one hesitated to take Mayor John's advice and eat all that they could. After everyone had eaten thier fill, Mayor John stood up and clinked the glass again. On his left was General Daniel, and on his right was, unwillingly, Misteria. She looked out at the sea of people who had started whispering, and felt alone. Her Togetic flew and landed on the ground next to her, then hugged her ankle. Misteria didn't know what she would do without Togetic. She took a deep breath and awaited her father to tell of her engagement. Once again the room grew silent as Mayor John cleared his throat. "I have asked you all here to celebrate the arrival of my daughter from her engaging buisness in other parts of this world. Also in the line of engagement, my dauhgter has now been engaged to one lucky man." here he paused as some mumbleing had broken out. Once the mumbleings had ceased, he continued. "You may know this man as the army's one and only young, General Daniel Walter Brown. They are to be married in four years when Misteria is of age." Cheering and applause was heard as the news was given. Daniel bowed, and Misteria curtsied half-heartedly. When the applause and cheering deminshed, Mayor John then said "Now that you have heard my news, let the dancing begin!" Music started playing and everyone went out onto the dance floor, everyone except Misteria. She stayed in her seat. General Daniel came up to her and asked "Can I have this dance?" Misteria would have protested, but her father was watching. "Sure." she said with a curtsey. Her father left and went to dance with one of the ladies that had been invited (well, he IS single(^-^;). Misteria walked with him onto the dance floor and they began to dance to the music. Misteria always loved balls, but she wished that the cercumstances for this ball were differant. "So, Misteria, how was your pokemon journey?" Daniel asked her. "It was great, I caught a lot of pokemon and," Misteria began, but she felt her fathers eyes watching her from behind and remembered that one of her fathers "rules" was that a lady never brags or is bold so she finished her sentance by saying "but I'm sure you've had more exciting adventures then me." She felt her fathers eyes leave her back as Daniel said "Yes, quite sure I have. Being in the army is more exciteing then most people think. After all, the army isn't all fun and games like a pokemon journey is." Misteria had to bite her tongue to keep from saying anything that she would later regreet. Instead she said "Yes, but I was away to long, my father said it is not wise for a lady to be gone so long." "Your father is very wise, I think that the army wouldn't be the same without him. Your father will make a worthy step father." Daniel said as Misteria had to resist the strong urge to speak wrongly of her father, as she was sure that that would not settle to well with eithar Daniel or her father. As soon as the music ended, and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata began to play, Misteria saw her chance for escape. "Sorry, I don't mean to be rude but could I have a moment to use the powder room?" Misteria asked. "Sure, we can resume this dance when you return." Daniel said as Misteria curtsied and left the ball room. She motioned to Togetic, who had been having a chat with a Skitty, and he flew after her. "Togetic, this isn't fair. My father turned my banquet into an engagement party. I don't even really like him that much, especially after the conversation we just had." Misteria ran up to her room and changed into her aquamarine night gown, and threw herself on her bed. Togetic flew over to Misteria's bedroom door and closed and locked it.Misteria had her head on her pillow and laid still, but then she heard a strange voice outside her room. "Is the pokemon in here?" a strange voice asked. "I think so Herb. Hopefully it can show us where the island is." another strange voice said to the first. "Yeah, all we need to do is find that last golden rose and we will be able to taste and remember our families again. We should be quiet, though, Umi. We don't know who could be listening," Herb said as their footsteps grew louder. Misteria got up and peeked through the key hole in her door, and saw two men approaching her door. She backed away from the door and Togetic followed her into her closet. The men's footsteps grew louder, then stopped. Misteria was about to come out and see what was happening, when she heard a crash, then footsteps right outside the closet door. "Herb, there's no one here." Umi said as he looked around the room. "We heard voices in here, plus a Togetic's call. Togetic must be the pokemon we're looking for, didn't that prophecy say that in order for us to return to normal, we had to have the pokemon of his son's love." Herb said as he surveyed the room. His eyes then fell upon the closet door. "What do you want to bet that they're hiding in there." Misteria heard this, and spotted her backpack on the floor of the closet. She grabbed a pokeball and held it close to her. She could hear their foot steps coming closer, untill they stopped again. She dared herself to peak through the keyhole on the closet door, and was greeted by Herb's eye (he's looking through the key hole on the other side). "Hello young miss." Herb said. Misteria screamed as Herb and Umi flung the door of the closet open. She then threw the pokeball that she had gotten out of her backpack and hurled it forward. "I chose you, Gyrados!" The giant water dragon appeared in front of her and bared it's fangs as it's blue scales glimmered in the moonlight. "Two can play at that game, I choose Ampharos!" Herb threw a pokeball of his own. A small yellow pokemon appeared that resembled a giraffe and had a red orb of light at the end of it's tail. "And I choose you." Umi released a weezing, whose purple hide was releasing toxens into the air. "Ampharos, Thunderbolt." even though it wasn't the most powerful electric attack, because Gyrados is a water/flying type, Gyrados fainted. "Now Weezing, smokescreen!" Umi yelled as Weezing released a gas from his body that obscured Misteria's vision. She heard some scuffleing noises, some mumbleing, and the shout of her Togetic. "Togetic? Togetic!" Misteria shouted, but when the smoke cleared Togetic was no where to be found. Misteria searched and called, but Togetic was no where to be found. Herb and Umi had gotten away with Togetic. Misteria began to cry as she walked to the window and looked outside. She then saw a pirate ship with sails of pure black and oars the color of blood departing from the shore. "Pirates!" she shouted in anger as the ship grew smaller and smaller as it sailed into the distance. ``````````````````````````````````````` ~~Three Years Later~~ ``````````````````````````````````````` Captain Jack Swellow was sailing out on the open sea today. He was looking for an island to land on and restock his supplies. He was now down to dry bread and stale water, and as many knew, Jack Swellow ate as if his stomach was a bottomless pitt, so beard woul not keep his appetite happy for long. Jack Swellow's black hair swayed in the ocean breeze as his brown eyes searched ahead for shore. Under Jack Swellow's eyes were bags since he had spent many countless and sleepless days at sea. The Wingulls overhead called to one another as Captain Jack Swellow sailed onward. His dark red and white hat, which he never let leave his head without him being the one to take it off, was all he had to remind him of the days he had before he was a pirate. He had began to forget most of the memories from back then, but one was persistant. The memory was of a girl with red hair and sea-blue eyes. He had forgotten her name and most everything else about this girl, but for some reason her face stayed in his memory. Jack Swellow surveyed the east and his eyes rested upon an island. The island was fairly large and even from this far away, he could make out buildings upon the island. He would finally be able to get something better to eat. He steered his boat in the direction of the island, but as he was passing a rock he saw a warning to pirates. Three clothed pirate skelingtons laid upon the rock. Jack Swellow took his hat off his head in respect to the dead pirates. Beside them was a sign that read: All pirates who came aboard this island shall suffer a similar fate. Despite the warning, Jack Swellow continued on. Jack Swellow had on the usual pirate attire of a gray, wool jacket and white under shirt with gray knickers and buckle-shoes, however his attire would have been a dead give away to him being a pirate. He took off his outer jacket in hopes to disquise himself, or at least give him a good chance to go unnoticed. When he reached the shore, he docked his boat and got off along with a stash of gold in his shoulder bag. He walked along as the owner of the dock walked over to Jack Swellow, producing a clipboard from his vest. "We have a policy here on Cerulean Island that all sea-goers must sign thier names and pay a five shilling deposit." the owner said as a Growlithe ran up beside the owner and began to growl at Jack Swellow. "How about fifteen shillings and we forget the name." Jack Swellow said as he placed fifteen shillings on the mans clipboard. The Growlithe stopped growling, and the owner smiled. "Welcome to Kanto Island." the owner said as he placed the money into his pocket. Jack Swellow stepped around him and headed towards town. However while walking down the peer, Jack Swellow laid his eyes upon a most beautiful boat named Queen Misteria. The boat was blue to match the sea and was quite big. Jack Swellow saw several men loading the boat with wine, apples, and other such items. He then knew that he had to have this boat, which was probably more then twice his own boat's worth. Two people were gaurding the boat, one was a man with blue hair pulled into a ponytail, his green eyes surveyed the people loading the ship. The other was also a man with short Green hair and blue eyes. Blue hair was wearing a white petti-coat, while Green hair was wearing a black petti-coat. Jack Swellow walked over to them and engaged them in conversation. "Hello lads, quite a fine ship you've got there." Jack Swellow made to walk to the ship, but the two men held out their swords so Jack Swellow couldn't get past them. They withdrew thier swords when he stepped back. "Sorry, no one allowed beyond this point, ain't that right James." Green hair said as he motioned to the man beside him. "That's right Botch." James said as he shook his head in agreement. "For the last time, my name is Butch." Butch yelled at James. "Well, that ship is kind of small." Jack Swellow said as he motioned toward the ship. The two men looked at him with shock. "What ship could possibly be bigger than this?" James questioned as Butch was wondering the same thing. "Have you ever heard of a ship called The Black Clamperl?" Jack Swellow asked them in a low voice. "Yeah, I've heard of it. The Black Clamperl is great ship with sails of pure black and oars the color of red." Butch said as he recalled something that had happened a few years back. "How do you know this?" James asked Butch, the two of them forgetting about Jack Swellow. "It visted our shores a few years ago, according to Mayor John's daughter Misteria." Butch said as the two of glanced out at the sea as if the ship was going to appear before them. "What about you, stranger? What do you have to say about the Black Clamperl?" James said as he turned around, and noticed that Jack Swellow was no longer standing in front of him. "What the devil?" James questioned as he looked around, then turned to see him standing in the Queen Misteria. "Yes, this ship is a fine one. Small compaired to the Black Clamperl, but fine none the less." Jack Swellow said from the stern of the ship. "Get back here, you are trespassing on Mayor John and Mistress Misteria's property. I will give you to the count of ten to come down from there. One... Two... " Butch began to count. Despite the fact that Butch was nearing ten, Jack Swellow stood where he was, observing the ship's mast. He then walked over to the back and examined the wood work. Jack Swellow was an expert at making ships and he made them in his spare time, when he wasn't out on the sea or pirateing (is that a word?). He had even made the ship that he was sailing in when he arrived on Cerulean Island. Down below he heard Butch say "Nine... Ten! Okay sir, you've been warned." James and Butch raised their rifles at him, but at that moment General Daniel and Mayor John walked by. "Why do you two soldiers have your rifles raised?" General Daniel asked James and Butch. "There's a strange man aboard the Queen Misteria, we warned him to come down, but he wouldn't listen to us." James pleaded to General Daniel. "Where is this man? I see no man?" Daniel asked as the two men turned and found that the stranger was gone. "Hello boys, are you looking for me?" Jack Swellow popped up beside of James and Butch, who both let out little shrieks of surprise. "Is this that man that you speak of?" Daniel asked them, pointing at Jack Swellow. "Yes, that's the one. He tried to steal that ship." Butch told Daniel, pointing to The Queen Misteria. "Is this true, am I to believe that this man tried to steal young Misteria's Mother's ship?" Daniel questioned Butch and James, not truly believing that the strange man had been trying to steal the Queen Misteria. "Well, if I were you, I would believe them." Jack Swellow said, taking a bow. "Are you mocking me? What is your name?" Daniel asked Jack Swellow, who was now running a hand through his black, tangled hair. "You may call me Bob." Jack Swellow said as he began to bite his thumb nail which, as his nails were, had dirt, among other things under the nail. "Do not bite your thumb at me 'Bob,' let me see your thumb." Daniel asked Jack Swellow. Jack Swellow presented his hand, which Daniel grabbed and lifted the sleeve off of Jack Swellow's arm. " 'Bob' indeed. You are a pirate, I can tell from this tatoo on your arm. Now as for your real name, there is a Swellow flying on your tatoo. Now I know who you are. You are the pirate known as Jack Swellow." Daniel then released Jack Swellow's arm. "You are a very smart man, your parents must have been professors." Jack Swellow said, then whispered to James, "You don't see many smart one's these days." "Jack Swellow, I here by place you under arrest for for being a pirate. However, your punishment for attempted theft is not to be decided by me. Since this is Misteria's ship, it is up to her what shall be done to you. If it was up to me, you would be exacuted." Daniel spat out, then he had Butch and James lead Jack Swellow to the island's prison. "Imagine, filthy pirate scum like him on Cerulean Island. I guess that I should now inform Misteria and Mayor John of what has just happened here." General Daniel thought to himself as he headed to Misteria's mansion. Upon arrival he was greeted by Mayor John. "Ahh, young General Daniel. How good it is to see you. Please, tell me why you have come." Mayor John said to General Daniel. "Unfortunatly, I am not here for good news. There was a pirate who attempted to steal the Queen Misteria." Daniel told Mayor John in a straight-forward tone. "Oh my goodness, was he caught?" Mayor John asked Daniel. "Yes, he was caught and sent to prison, however that was just for his crime of being a pirate. His crime of attempted theft is not for me to decided, since I am not the one that he tried to steal from. That is to be decided by Misteria." Daniel looked around the garden, which is where they were standing. "When do you plan to have Misteria to come to the cell and decided the punishment of the pirate?" Mayor John asked as he sat on a bench. "Immediantly. Where is Misteria?" Daniel asked. "She is in the mansion having her tea. You can get her when you like." Mayor John told Daniel. Daniel strided over to the front doors and flung them open. Then he marched in and walked to the tea room. He found Misteria convesing with her servant. Upon General Daniel's arrival, Misteria stood up and curtsied. "General Daniel, what a pleasant surprise." Misteria told him. "Misteria, a pirate attempted to steal your ship, the Queen Misteria, and you are to be the one who decides the pirate's fate. Can you come now?" General Daniel asked her. "Yes, I am finished with my tea. I can come down as soon as I change." Misteria headed tords the door, when General Daniel stopped her. "I must get back to the army, do you think you would be okay to go alone to the prison?" Daniel asked Misteria. "Oh yes, I will be fine." Misteria reasured him. "Just let me know what your decision so that I can make sure that it passes. Remember, he is a pirate so don't take him lightly. Whatever punishment you command will be done to him." General Daniel waited for Misteria to nod her head and curtsy before he left. Misteria ran up to her room and got dressed into shorts and a shirt, something her father would never let her wear, and grabbed her backpack. She packed up her pokeballs and other supplies, then slung it over her shoulder. Misteria had a plan for the pirate, and even though it wasn't much of a punishment, she felt that this pirate could help her like no one else could. ````````````````````````````````````````` end of part 1~ Alright!! I'm done with part 1!!! It took me forever to finish. This is my first cross-over, so let me know what you think about it. What does Misteria need of the pirate Jack Swellow? All will be revealed in part two.
