Laitias's Love Disclaimer~I don't own pokemon or much else for that matter. Anyway, if you haven't seen the fifth pokemon movie yet, this fic contains spoilers. A friend of mine thinks that Laitias loves Ash, mainly because of the ending of the fifth movie, and she asked me to write a fic about this shipping (Eonshipping, I think it's called). So this is my attempt at an eonshippy fic, so don't throw rotten tomatoes at me if ya don't like it, and if you must throw something, throw pizzas. `````````````````````````````````` "Ash, where are you?" Latias thought to it's self. "I haven't seen you in five years, what's taking you so long?" Latias was lieing on a tree branch in the secret garden that it called home. Even though it was very late, she was wide awake. She looked around the empty garden snd sighed. It was so lonely here ever since her brother had sacrificed himself. She was so alone, and the one she loved hadn't returned in five years. A tear fell from her eye and landed on the grass below her. Bianca and her father hadn't visted in a long time, mainly because Bianca's father had come down with a rare illness and Bianca was always at her father's bed side. Laitias sometimes felt like leaving and looking for Ash on her own, but she knew that if she left, there wouldn't be anyone left who was able to protect Altomare. She glanced over at the pool that held her brother's crystalized soul and sighed again. She knew that one day, that would be her fate as well. She only hoped that she would be able to see Ash before that happened. "Ash," she whispered in pokemon language. Saying his name made her toungue dance and her heart jump. Although she knew it wasn't natural for a pokemon to love a human, she was no ordinary pokemon. She could take on the form of a human, and one day she hoped to learn human speech. Then Ash might accept her as more than a pokemon that could be captured, and possibly even love her back. Laitias closed her eyes. Tomarrow she would try to learn human, then she would try to create a human form of her own, instead of one that just mimiced the form of another. With these thoughts flowing through her mind, she soon fell into a peaceful sleep. ```````````````````````````````````````` Laitias awoke the next morning and squinted her eyes. The morning sun was bright today. Laitias got off the branch and stretched her wings. Then she flew down to the stream that flowed through the garden, and splashed her face with water. She looked at her reflection in the water as it rippled from the splash she had made. Her features were distorted then, as the water ripples began to cease, her reflection became whole. She saw a pokemon staring back at her. The pokemon was white and red, with dragon-like features. "Lai." she said, as she looked at her reflection. "Lai, Lai, Lai." she was talking in pokemon. She cleared her throat and determindly yelled, "Lai, purrr Lai!!" She had meant to say "I love you," but the word love came out as a purr. Then landed upon the ground and continued to watch her reflection as she transformed into human form. However, her human form was still that of Bianca's. She looked at her reflection in the water, using it as a mirror as she tried to change her hair. It turned red, her eyes turned blue, and she grew a little taller. As clothes, she sported a small pair of jeans with a yellow tank top and suspenders. Looking at her reflection, she noticed that she resembled the female trainer that had traveled with her love. She thought back to thier parting day, and remembered the look on Ash's face when she kissed his cheek. He looked shocked, could it be possible that he felt the same way? She had also given him a picture that she had drawn. Bianca didn't know that Laitias had learned to draw from watching her, but Laitias was pretty good. She had the pictures she had drawn hidden in a knot hole of the tree she slept in, so Bianca or her father wouldn't know the way she felt about Ash. Laitias changed back to pokemon form as she heard someone approaching. She flew behind a tree and peered between the branches. What she saw approaching made her heart skip a beat. "Lai!" she shouted in glee. There before her eyes was a boy with dark brown hair that shone in the morning sun. His eyes were squinted against the bright rays as he put a hand over them to shade them. "So Bianca, how have things been?" he asked as he looked around the secret garden. Laitias peered at him and noticed that the other two humans weren't with him. She flew behind a closer tree and peered around the trunk. "Besides my father, things have been pretty quiet here." Bianca replied. Laitias turned translucent and flew behind Ash. She saw that since she had last seen him he had grown taller, and more handsome. Laitias blushed as she looked at him. "How's Laitias?" Ash asked Bianca. Laitias's blush deepened. He asked about her. Laitias felt like jumping for joy, but instead she watched from behind without making a sound. "She's seemed a little quiet since you left. It's almost as if she's depressed." Bianca sighed as she looked at the ground. Laitias moved closer to Ash. Ash turned around, but couldn't see anything, so he turned back around. Laitias stiffled a giggle and moved closer. She grabbed Ash's hat in her mouth and made herself visible. Ash's hand flew to his head as he turned around. "Lai!" Laitias shouted as she did little loop-de-loops in the air. "Give me my hat!" Ash laughed as he began to playfully chase Laitias. Laitias began to purr as she flew beside him. She dropped the hat back on Ash's head as she flew above him. Ash looked up as Laitias swooped back down and landed. Ash patted her head as Laitias purred and closed her eyes in contentment. "Wow, I've never seen Laitias act this way in a long time. She must have missed you." Ash nodded as Laitias continued to purr. The waiting had been worth it, just to feel his hand n her head. "By the way, why have you and your friends come back, not that I'm not happy to see you three." Bianca asked in curiousness. "Misty really wanted to come back and compete in the Tour de Altomare again. So here we are." Ash finished, then stood up and stopped petting her. Laitias looked up at him and noticed that he had a dreamy look in his eyes. "Well, I'm glad you came back to vist, especially Laitais." Bianca said as she looked at Laitias "She's the happiest of us all." Bianca giggled. "Yeah, I'm going to head out now to get some practice." Ash told her as he stretched his arms. "How long are you guys going to be here?" Bianca asked him. "About three weeks, maybe longer." Ash said as he waved bye and began to walk to the garden's exit. Laitias flew in front of him and stopped him. "Lai?" she inquired. "Don't worry, I'll be back." he told her as he walked out the exit and soon disappeared from her sight. She couldn't believe that Ash was back, even if it was for only three weeks. She had to make him realize that he loved her as much as she loved him. She saw Bianca walk out the gardens as well, heading back to the hospital to vist her father, Lorenzo. Laitias looked around her at the empty gardens, some of the wind chimes tinkled as the wind blew through the garden. Laitias turned translucent again and flew out the where Ash had exited. `````````````````````````````````````` Laitias looked around the town as she flew, keeping an eye out for Ash. The sun shone brightly and it warmed her back as she flew. Laitias felt her eyes glow suddenly, and felt herself leave where she was and fly up towards the atmosphere. She soon stopped in a circle of glowing light that was hovering above the earth. This was sight share. Even though her brother had passed on, they were still able to keep in touch from time to time through the power of sight share. Laitias saw the light ring vibrate as it issued forth notes of harmony. The notes soon took on the form of Laitios's voice. "Lai, Latias. What's going on? I sensed a change in your heart rate." Laitios asked her. Laitias blushed as she looked at the ring of light, which was still issueing notes of harmony. "Brother, that boy we played with is back. Remember the one that helped us save the city? He has returned for three weeks!" Latias shrilled excitedly. The ring of light surrounded her, then receded as quickly as it had covered her. "You have not told me something, but I expected this. You love this human don't you?" Latios said as Laitias shook her head yes. "If there was only someway that I could tell him." Latias sighed. The ring gave off warmth as Latias closed her eyes. "I could give you the gift of human speech, if that is what you desire." Latios told her. "Really? That would be great!" Laitias began to shrill in delight. "But be warned, this gift of the human toungue does not come without consequences." Laitios said as he watched his sister's excitement. "Who cares about consequences? I could talk human, and I would be able to communicate with Ash. I want the gift of human speech." Laitias looked at the ring of light that had now surrounded her. It gave off small amounts of heat that comforted Laitias. "Are you certain that this is what you want?" Laitios asked her. Laitias shook her head yes. "If that is what you want. I will communicate with you three days from now to see how things are going." Laitias felt her body glow with light. Her throat felt scratchy, so she began to cough. "Lai, Lai, Lai, cough, cough." Laitias stopped. "Hey!" she yelled, trying to say Lai. It had worked, she could now speak human. "Thank you Laitios, thank you!" she yelled excitedly. ````````````````````````````` Laitias's eyes returned to normal as sight share ended. Laitias looked around her and saw some pidgeys flying by. "Hey Pidgeys!" she called to them. "Pidgey, Pidgey pid?" one of the pidgey's said as it looked at her. The other pidgeys just flew away. "Wait, come back!" Laitias shouted. The remaining Pidgey looked at her with an expression of confusion, then flew off. She watched as the pidgeys disappeared into the distance. She couldn't understand why the pidgeys flew away, and why couldn't she understand the one that had spoken to her? Oh well, she shook the pidgey incident out of her mind and began to fly onwards. The town was big, and she didn't know where Ash could be, so she landed in the town square. She then transformed into Bianca and walked over to a nearby water spicket. She turned it on and knelt down so she could drink. The cool, clear water quenched her thrist, she stood back up, and wiped the excess droppletts on the back of her hand. She looked around the square and couldn't see anyone that resembled Ash or any of his friends. She sighed and continued her search on foot. She saw someone with a medalian around his neck and brown hairs that contrasted wonderfully with his deep blue eyes. Laitias walked up to him and asked "Excuse me sir, have you seen a boy named Ash?" "Ash, I raced against him in the tour de Altomare five years ago. Is he back in town?" the boy asked. "He is, sir, and I'm looking for him." Laitias said. "The names Ross. If he's in town, then that must mean that Misty's in town." Hearts appeared in Ross's eyes. "How about I help you find him and Misty?" Laitias shook her head in agreement. "By the way, what's your name?" "It's Lai..." Laitias figured that no one would believe her name was that of a pokemon's, Ash sure didn't when they first met. "Lairus." Laitias finished. "Lairus, huh? I like that name." Ross smiled as the two walked down the sidewalk. They passed many stores, including an Ice cream shop, but Ash wasn't there. "Oh, I just remembered, Ash said that he might head down to the Tour de Altomare practice track. Do you know where that is?" Laitias asked. "Sure do Lairus, I was just heading that way myself." Ross turned the party around and withen fifteen minutes they had reached thier destination. The training track was more of a giant pool on the out skirts of Altomare. In the middle of the giant pool was a statue of Laitios and Laitias. Laitias felt flattered to see her image in stone. "This is the practice field where all those who wish to train for the Tour de Altomare come. You can find your friend here, and I can find Misty." Ross said as he directed them down the stairs of the surrounding seats to the pool. Laitias looked around the pool, which closely resembled the Roman Colloseum in design, and soon spotted a red and white capped head. Laitias ran over to where she had spotted the hat, Ross in tow, and found Ash. "Ash! Hey, Ash!" she shouted in excitement. Ash turned to look behind him and saw a girl in a green shirt with hair of red run towards him. "Hey Bianca!" he yelled out. "I'm not Bianca." Laitias said. Even though she had expected him to mistake her for Bianca, it still hurt her feelings for him to not recognize her as Laitias. "Laitias?" it was the female, Misty, who recognized her. "The one and only." Laitias said as she looked over at Ash. She saw Ash blush, could it be because she was looking at him? "Hey Ross." Ash greeted Ross. Ross walked past Laitias and up to Ash and Misty. Laitias looked at them as Ross shook Ash's hand. "Hey Ash, Misty, I see you two know Lairus already." Ross told them. "Lairus?" Ash and Misty questioned in unison. "That's me." Laitias raised her hand. "But, I thought your name is Laitias." Ash said. "Laitias?" this time Ross looked confused. "But isn't that the name of a pokemon?" "Yes." Laitias told him, then whispered to Ash and Misty "I don't want him to know that I'm a Laitias." she turned to Ross, who was still confused. "I get it." Ash said "When did you learn to talk?" "This morning, I'm a fast learner." Laitias pointed at herself and smiled. She could see that Ash was impressed with her learning to talk. Ross then walked over to Misty. Misty watched him with her sea-blue eyes as he approached her. Her bright red hair blew about her in the breeze. "Hey Misty, how about we race around the ring and see who wins this time? And let's make this interesting, loser buys the winner lunch." Ross looked at her slyly. "Your on, but you'll be sorry." Misty ran over to her water pod as Ross got his own water pod ready. Ross called out Walimer and Misty called out her Corsola. Ash and Laitias ran over to them to watch. Both trainers secured the pokemon in the holding harnesses and got upon thier respective pods. "Alright guys, on your mark..." Ash called as the two had finished setting up, "Get set..." both trainers set thier eyes on the track and leaned forward, "GO!!!" The two trainers took off for a fast start. Misty was ahead when they reached the first bend in the track. Ross and Walimer weren't far behind. Corsola was pacing it's self and keeping at a good speed, and Walimer was doing the same. Laitias heard Ash cheering on Misty from beside of her. Laitias frowned and stepped back, turned into pokemon form, and used her feathers to refract the light so that she could blend into her surroundings. Ash was so into the race, that he didn't notice Laitias. Laitias flew out and grabbed Corsola just as she had done to Ash's Totodile all those years ago. This time, however, she slowed Corsola down so Walimer could get ahead. "Wha?" Laitias heard Misty exclaim in surprise. Laitias grinned and waited for Ross to get far ahead before she let Corsola go. She flew over to Ash and changed back into human form. "Come on Corsola!" Misty encouraged. Corsola was confused by the sudden slowing she had went through, but quickly picked up the pace. Ross neared the finish line and was sure he had the race won untill Corsola appeared beside him. "Wha?" it was his turned to be confused. Corsola was giving it everything it had and had almost passed Ross before he recovered from his shock. "Come on Walimer!" Walimer rushed ahead. The race was close, but Ross won in the end. Laitias cheered on as the two came back to land, recalling thier pokemon. "What happened Misty?" Ash asked as Misty walked over to him. "I don't know, Corsola just slowed down all of a sudden. I don't know what happened." Misty looked back at her pod, then sighed. "Guess lunch is on me." "I wouldn't have won if your Corsola hadn't slowed like that. How about the four of us eat lunch, and Misty and I can split the bill." Ross suggested. "Yeah!" everyone agreed with grumbling stomachs. Everyone walked out of the stadium and unto the main sidewalk to find somewhere to eat. Laitias glanced over at Ash and blushed because he was looking at her. She could only hope that her gift to talk would lead him to like her. She had three weeks before he left, and who knows what could happen in three weeks. Laitias smiled to herself at that thought, as a cool breeze blew past her face. `````````````````````````````````````````` end part 1 `````````````````````````````````````````` Whew, I'm done with part one.
