Latias's Love Disclaimer~I don't own pokemon, nor do I own ze beautiful Altomare. If I did, I would be rich off and famous. Special thanks to my friend Misty101803 for helping me with the idea for this part, since I had a severe case of writer's block. Anyway, here's part 3, enjoy! ```````````````````````````````````````````` Latias woke up the next morning by the entrance of the secret garden. She blinked her eyes against the bright morning sun and yawned deeply. She couldn't remember how she had gotten where she was. The last thing she remembered was "accidentily" falling asleep on Ash. She had begun to wonder if it was Ash who had carried her in here, when Bianca walked in. "You're up Latias, that's good." Bianca smiled at her. Latias began to panic a little. Bianca didn't know that she could talk human, and if Bianca found out, she might not take it as well as Ash did. "Ermm... Lai, lai, laitias?" Latias said cautously. Bianca looked at her strangely. Usually, Bianca could understand bits of what Latias said, since they were so close, but today she couldn't understand a word. In addition, Latias sounded kinda funny. "Are you okay? Your voice sounds horrible, maybe you should take it easy and get some rest today." Bianca suggested as she turned to leave. "Sorry about the vist being so quick, but I have to vist Father. I guess you could go see Ash if you want." Bianca then left Latias. "That's right, Ash." Latias looked out the entrance and transformed into Bianca before leaving herself. ````````````````````````` Ash and Misty were enjoying continental breakfast (hotels that serve breakfast have this) in the pokemon center that they were staying at. Ash was stuffing his face full of bannana-nut muffins (my fav), while Misty nibbled thoughtfully on a piece of French toast. Just as Ash had polished off his plate of muffins, the center's Nurse Joy came up to him. "Are you Ash Ketchum?" she asked. "Yeah, that's me." Ash said as he stood up from where he was sitting. "You have a phone call." she said, leading Ash and Misty to a green video phone. Ash sat in front of it and picked up the reciever."Hello?" Ash questioned to the person who had called him. His ears were met with a very familiar tone. "Hello Ash." Prof. Oaks voice announced over the phone speaker, and not long after his face appeared on the video screen. Although Prof. Oak was old, he still had a few streaks of brown hair left, and his eyes shone with pride as he looked upon Ash. "Ash, you've grown since last I called you." Ash blushed and put a hand behind his head, "Proffesor, I haven't grown that much." Ash always blushed when someone told him that he had grown. "So, what did you call me for?" "Oh, yes. Your Pikachu has fully recovered from the magnetism overload that had occured last month, and is ready to be sent to you. I'll put it into the transportor now." Prof. Oak said as he placed Pikachu's pokeball into the silver transporter beside the phone. The pokeball became light and was sucked up through a tube in the machine. The light then appeared at Ash's transporter, and soon the pokeball appeared from the light. Ash picked up the pokeball and pushed the button on the front and Pikachu popped out. "Pika, piiiiiiii!!!!" Pikachu yelled as the little yellow mouse jumped into Ash's arms. Pikachu rubbed his red check up against Ash's pale one, his little lightning bolt shaped tail wagged in happiness. "I missed you too Pikachu." Ash petted Pikachu and Pikachu purred in delight. "That's all for now Ash, take care." Prof. Oak and Ash exchanged goodbyes, then Ash hung up. "It's good to have you back Pikachu." Misty crouched down to Pikachu's level and he jumped into her arms. Misty stood up, holding the happy Pika, and together, she and Ash walked out of the pokemon center. `````````````````````````````````````` Ash first wanted to take Pikachu to Altomare Square Gardens, a park in the middle of the town. Pikachu hadn't been able to practice since he had been sick, so what better way to start Pikachu's practice, then with a pokemon battle? Ash's opponent was Misty and she released her pokemon. "Go, Marshtomp!" She shouted as the middle-sized mud fish pokemon appeared. It stood on two legs as it faced across from Pikachu. "A Marshtomp huh? This should be interesting." Ash said to himself as the battle began. "Alright, Pikachu, use your Agility in combination with your quick attack." Pikachu nodded at his trainer before he took off across the field at top speed. "Okay Marshtomp, when you sense Pikachu, grab it's front paws in your hand fins." Misty commanded. Marshtomp could use his head fin as radar to sense what was happening around him at all times, including a certain yellow mouse. Marshtomp stood still, then sensed the rapidly approaching Pikachu. He held out his hand fins and caught Pikachu's paws in his fins. "Wha! Pikachu, use a thunder bolt attack!" Ash called as Misty laughed to herself, he had no idea what type Marshtomp was, besides water. "Pikachuuuuuu!!" Pikachu released a thunder bolt, but nothing happened. Marshtomp smirked at Pikachu as he jumped up and used a seismic toss on Pikachu. Pikachu landed hard, but got back up. "Huh? Why didn't the Thunder bolt work?" Ash asked as he stared cluelessly at Misty. "Didn't you know that Marshtomps are part ground type?" Misty asked Ash with a grin on her face. She then turned to Marshtomp and called out "Okay Marshtomp, prepair to use Mudshot!" Misty comanded as the mud fish pokemon opened it's mouth and aimed a ball of mud at pikachu. Pikachu dodged the first and second mud balls, but the third hit Pikachu head on. Pikachu collapsed onto the ground. Ash ran over to Pikachu and used a super potion on the small mouse. Pikachu instantly perked up and leaped onto Ash's shoulder. "We lost Pikachu." Ash said sadly, then turned and faced Misty. "You've gotten a lot better since we battled last." "Well, I have been training at my gym for three years after all, so how could I not get better?" Misty replied as she returned her Marshtomp to it's pokeball. "I guess that makes sense." Ash nodded his head as the two headed out of the park."Where to next?" Ash asked Misty as the noon time sun shone brightly in the sky above. "Where ever you want is fine." Misty said as she and Ash began to walk along the sidewalk, letting their feet carry them. Just then an oak gandola had drifted beside them, Misty looked up and saw Ross was onboard. "Good afternoon, Ross." Misty called to him. "Aftenoon Misty, where are ya headed?" Ross asked as he stopped the gandola beside the sidewalk and stepped out next to Misty. "We're not sure, we were just walking along." Misty told him. "Well, if you like, I could take you around to some places that might intreast you." Ross offered. "That sounds great, what do you think, Ash?" Misty asked as she clasped her hands in front of her face and put her sad puppy-dog eyes on. Ash could never resist that face. "Alright, we'll go on the stupid gondola ride." Ash sighed in defeat. Misty jumped for joy as she and Ash climbed aboard the gondola. Misty always loved riding on gondolas, since she had always thought that it was so romantic. Ash just mumbled incoherantly as Ross began to row the gondola down the water-pathways of Altomare. Ash looked over at Misty and saw that she was watching the scenary go by as they drifted down the waterpath. Ash sighed as he looked up at the sky. At that moment, Latias was flying through the sky (she's transparent at the moment) and spotted the gondola swiftly moving through the water street. Latias looked down and noticed a familiar red-capped head staring at the sky and, unbeknowest to the person, Latias. Latias flew a little closer and when she saw who it was staring up at her, her heart skipped a beat. It was Ash!! Latias couldn't believe it, and she then began to fly straight down to the gondala where Ash was riding. Latias had almost reached Ash, when "THUNK" Latias had hit the raised back end of the gondola head on. The gondola tipped sideways, spilling Misty, Ash, with Pikachu upon his shoulder, and Ross into the water street. After shaking her head, Latias spotted Ash in the water and quickly picked him up and placed him back into the gondola. Misty and Ross swam to the sidewalk and climbed out of the water. As soon as Misty had moved her water-soaked hair out of her eyes, she looked back at the water for Ash, but she could only see the gondala speeding away. Unbeknowest to her, it was being pushed by a transparent Latias. "Ash," Misty gasped. "Ross, we have to go find Ash, he may be in trouble, your gondola appears to be wisking away along a strong current." Misty called to Ross, who was beside her on the sidewalk. Ross looked up at Misty and saw that her eyes were full of worry. He nodded his head, "Okay, let's hurry and catch that gondola." He couldn't help but feel a tad hurt that Misty was worried so much about Ash, maybe Misty liked Ash and not him. Ross closed his eyes for a second before opening them and deciding that he was not going to let that happen and Misty would like him as he liked her. ```````````````````````````````````` "Whoa!!!!!!!!!" Ash yelled as the gondola speed down the waterway. He was clutching the sides of it in fear that he may fall out again. The gondola made a sharp turn and Ash found himself in an alleyway. Then the gondola came to an abrupt stop, and Ash almost fell out. Ash heard a small sound, then he felt something on his arm, Ash slapped at his arm, thinking that it was a bug who had landed upon his arm, and heard something say "Ouch." He looked and saw that his hand was gripping a glistening red feather. "Huh? Latias?" Ash asked aloud as he looked down at the feather. Latias appeared before Ash, and licked his cheek with her short red toungue. She smiled as she picked Ash up in her arms and began to soar through the air. "Whoa Latias, put me down." Ash said while giggling. "Sure thing." Latias said as she let go of Ash. He began to scream, untill he realized that Latias had flown under him and he was now riding upon Latias's back. "Hahaha, where are we going?" Ash laughed as he and Latias countinued their flight. "You'll see." Latias told him as she kept her eyes ahead of her to see where they were going. ``````````````````````````````````` "Ash! Ash?!? Ash, where are you?!?" Misty shouted as she ran down the sidewalk with Ross not far behind. "The gondola went this way, we should be close." Ross huffed as they ran. Misty rounded the cornor, and continued forward. "Ash, you've got to be okay." Misty thought to herself as she and Ross kept running. After running for several minutes, Misty finally spotted the outline of Ross's gondola ahead of her. "Straight ahead." Misty called. Misty and Ross ran to the gondola, but when they peered inside of it, Ash was no where to be seen. "Oh no, ASH!!!!!!!!" Misty yelled as she fell to her knees. Then, a little yellow head popped out of the gondola. "Pikachupi?" Pikachu called. Misty looked up at Pikachu and he jumped into her arms. "Pikachu, where's Ash?" Misty asked. "Pikapi? Pikapi pika pipi pika Pipichu." Pikachu pointed to the sky and imitated Ash and Latias, then he made flapping motions with his arms. Misty may not be able to understand most of what Pikachu says, but she got what Pikachu was trying to tell her. "So, Ash went with Latias before telling any of us, leaving us to worry. I see now." Misty felt a tear trickle down her cheek, but she wiped it away. "Pikachupi," Pikachu said with sympathy. Misty stood up, Pikachu in her arms, and began to walk away from the gondola. Ross came up behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'm really sorry Misty." Ross told her. "It's okay, I guess Ash just..." Misty found herself unable to finish the sentance. "Hey, would you like to go out one time, it'll help take your mind off Ash." Ross asked hopefully. Misty turned around, a small smile upon her face. "Maybe, right now I just need time to myself." Ross nodded his head "I understand, whenever you're ready, just find me and let me know." Ross got into his gondola and began to make his way back to the main water way. He stopped and offered Misty a ride, but she declined. Ross waved to her as she disappeared from his sight, and she waved back. As he sped away,Ross thought to himself "I may still have a chance." With this thought, he grinned to himself. `````````````````````````````````` "Whoa, haha, slow down." Ash laughed as Latias flew in loops and sped up. Ash felt the wind blow his spikey black hair back, and he closed his eyes. However, Latias came to a sudden stop. Ash opened his eyes, looked around, and gasped when he saw where Latias had taken him. It was a beautiful rooftop garden. There was a fountain, a bench swing, and beautiful flowers were planted everywhere in gorgeous marble pots. "Where are we?" Ash asked as he slid off of Latias's back. "We're on the rooftop of Bianca and Lorenzo's house. They built a garden up here for me and... my brother." Latias sighed as she glanced up at the sky. "Do you miss your brother?" Ash asked as he looked at Latias. "Yeah, sometimes, it gets real lonely, being all by myself. I just wish I had someone who would be with me and play with me." Latias said as she felt a tear fall down her face. "What about Bianca?" "She's never home, she's eithar out or, now, she's at her father's hospital bed." "Sorry." "It's okay, I can still comunicate with my brother sometimes, by using sight share." "That's cool." Ash walked over and sat down on the bench swing. "Yeah, it really is." Latias transformed into Bianca and took the seat next to Ash. "In fact, he sometimes gives me a gift to help me. He even granted me with the ability to..." Latias stopped here. Ash seemed so impressed when she told him that she had learned how to speak human, she couldn't tell him the truth. "With the ability to what?" Ash asked. "Errr, the ability to... love." Latias just said the first word that came to her mind. "Love, who?" "Love you." Latias thought, but then said "To love and cherish the memories I have." "Oh, I guess that's a good ability to have." Ash said as he got up and stretched his arms. "Yeah, it is." Latias looked over at Ash and felt a twinge of pain in her heart. she loved him so much, it hurt. "Hey Ash?" "Yeah, Latias?" Latias grinned at him. "How about a game of tag?" "Your on!" Ash laughed as they ran around the roof top garden. `````````````````````````````````````````````` Ash and Latias played tag and other such games late into the evening. Latias took Ash back to the Pokiemon Center sometime around 10:00 PM. Ash walked quietly into the building, so he wouldn't disturb any sleeping pokemon or pokemon trainers. He walked up the stairs and found the door to his and Misty's room and quietly turned the lock in the door. When he entered, he was greeted by Misty and Pikachu, who were looking at him with looks of disgust upon their faces. "And just where have you been?" Misty asked in a dangerous tone. "I, well, I've just been playing." Ash told her. "Playing? Untill 10 PM?" Misty asked, her arms folded across her chest. "Well, I've just been playing with Latias." Ash replied, not thinking it was such a big deal. "Oh, Latias. Why didn't you tell me Ash? I was worried sick about you." Misty told him as she turned around, facing away from him. "I would have, but Latias kinda just swept me off my feet and I had no choice." unfortunitly for Ash, he had said the wrong thing without knowing it. "She swept you off your feet huh? She isn't even human, she is just a pokemon. How is this possible?" Misty turned to face him again, angry tears running down her face. Ash felt his own temper begin to rise. "She may just be a pokemon, but she is my friend, that is so specieist of you to say that. So what if she is "just a pokemon"? I've had more fun with her then I can remember in a long time." Ash shouted. Misty felt her heart fall. "So is that how it is? Do you care more about that pokemon then me?" Misty's voice was quiet. "Well, at the moment I do!" Ash shouted. Misty looked up at him, genuine tears running down her face. "Just so you know, Ross asked me out and I declined because I thought that you... but that doesn't matter now, I can see that I was wrong." "What, he asked you out?" "Yes! Okay, he did and I declined because I...I... nevermind, it doesn't matter now." Misty stuttered. "Maybe I should go out with Ross, at least he doesn't just leave like that to have feelings for some pokemon." "Stop calling her that." Misty sat on her bed. "You won't have to worry about that Ash. As of Tomarrow, I'm getting my own room. I can't stay here with you any longer, it hurts me to much." Misty turned over and faced the wall. She pulled the blanket over her and refused to talk any more. Ash could hear the faint sound of crying coming from her. Ash looked at Pikachu, who turned and didn't look Ash in the eye. Ash layed on his own bed and sighed. Somehow, over the coarse of this day, he had screwed things up big time, and he knew that his life was about to change, drastically. `````````````````````````````````````` End part 3 So, what do ya think?
