Misty's Trial Disclaimer: How long ago did I write this? Waaay too long. Back when I saw something about Lizzie Bordon on the History channel, and this story spawned from that. So umm, this story may be really old, but I really don't have any AAMRNs up, so I thought "Why not post this?" well, there ya go. And everyone's much older in this fic, I don't remember how much older, but they're adults. ooo Ash had his head in his hands. Brock was in a state of shock. Daisy, Violet, and Lily were crying. Togepi was running around the room with tears streaming from it's eyes. Pikachu kept murmuring "Pikachupi," over and over again to himself. Gary was sitting back from the others with a look of horrified confusion on his face. Tracey was pacing back and forth trying to fight back his tears. A person in a black, stiff suit entered the room as everyone turned to look at the man solemnly. Tracey stopped pacing and even Togepi managed to settle down a little as the man cleared his throat. Snifflinf could be heard all over the room as the tears would not stop. Togepi began to cry loudly. Thankfully, there was a Nurse Joy near by for occasions just as this. Nurse Joy took Togepi out of the room and tried to calm the little egg while everyone else listened to the serious, gray-headed man. "As you all know, we are here to discuss just what exactly happened last night. You were all at the party, so you are all suspects in the murder of Misty Waterflower (dun dun dun). To get to the bottom of what happened, we only have your word to go by. Each of you will be led into that room at the back," the man motioned towards a door in the room, "and tell what happened last night." The man left the room as Nurse Joy enters, bringing a slightly subdued Togepi back into the room. Togepi still has tears streaming from it's eyes, but it's cries have ceased. Togepi runs over to Ash, who picks up the little egg and places it in his lap. Togepi cries into Ash's shirt and Ash tries to comfort it, but isn't succeding since he is crying as well. The judge opened the door that the man had indictaed and steps into the room. He coughs lightly as he takes a look at every one of the mourning, depressed people gathered before him. "The hearing will now begin. I would like to speak to Mr. Ketchum first." Ash stood up and handed Daisy Togepi. Ash wiped his eyes on the back of his sleeve. Slowly, he makes his way to the door and enters, taking a seat in one of the two chairs in front of the judge's desk. The judge sits behind a wooden desk and grabs a legal pad and a pen from one of the drawers on his desk. He uncaps the pen and prepares to write notes. He then grabs a pair of glasses setting on the desk and puts them on. "Now, Ash, can you tell me what you remember from last night in as much detail as possible?" "Yes," Ash takes a breath to stop a fresh wave of tears before continuing, "It all started at the part last night." ooo flashback ooo All the guests had arrived and music was playing jovily in the background. Ash was with Misty. They were throwing a party to celebrate their love for each other. Misty was wearing an aquamarine dress that Ash thought matched wonderfully with her beautiful blue-green eyes. She had on dazzling, silver earings and a matching necklace. Ash was wearing a jean dress shirt with long sleeves and kacky dress pants with dark brown dress shoes. They were talking at the desert table with Brock. "This isn't fair!" Brock was whining, "Ash has a girl. I'm never going to get a girl. I'm doomed to forever be tormented by cupid's arrow." "Don't worry Brock," Misty shook her head at the tanned and toned gym leader, "someone is bound to like you eventualy. You just have to have patience...and class." she added. She giggled lightly as Brock complained some more. While the two were talking, Ash could've sworn that he saw Brock give him a look of pure rage and hatred. The look made Ash feel uncomfortable and a bit scared. Ash blinked and shook his head and saw that Brock had gone elsewhere to chat. A slow song began to play and Ash and Misty entered the cance floor. All around them other couples were coming over to share a dance with their love. As they danced, Ash had a funny feeling that someone was watching him. Ash looked around, but couldn't see anyone. "Is something wrong?" Misty asked, her voice full of worry. "No, it's nothing." Ash grinned as he looked upon his love. He took her in his arms and held her. Misty held him back, then she pulled away and looked at him sternly, "I know you more then you think. Something was bothering you." Ash sighed, defeated, "Well, I felt like someone was watching me and made me uncomfortable," he confessed. "Of course someone's watching us, we're the ones who threw this party. There are lots of people watching us." what Misty said was true, there were a lot of people watching them and smiling. Ash even saw someone give him a thumbs up. Ash smiled and looked down at Misty, kissing the top of her head. Misty hummed slightly and turned to face him, kissing him on the lips. "It was probably just my imagination." Ash admitted as the song ended. and everyone left the dance floor. Just as Ash and Misty had walked over to get some punch, Ash felt that he was being watched again. Ash was thinking about asking Brock about this since he was usually good at figuring stuff out, but he didn't see Brock anywhere. Ash felt the eyes stronger this time. He turned around quickly, determined to find out who was so dead set on staring at him when he heard a thunderous noise. The thunderous noise of a gun shot. Ash felt a small rush by his chest as the shot passed him; barely missing him. He then heard the scream that would haunt his dreams and waking moments from that moment forward. Ash turned and noticed Misty falling. "Misty!" Ash shouted. He managed to catch her in his outstretched arms and then he knelt down, keeping her head elevated, trying hard to not look at the blood that was pooling from Misty's chest. Misty coughed and blood trickled down her check from her mouth. "No, this can't be. Misty, you just can't." Ash closed his eyes as he felt hot tears sting them. "Ash," Misty mumbled, "love..." Ash put a finger to her lips so that she would not waste her energy speaking. Misty was looking at him and trying to lift up to him. Ash figured out what she was trying to do and smiled slightly, leaning down and kissing her for the very last time. Misty kissed him back before falling limp in his arms. Ash pulled away from her as tears began to fall from his eyes and land on Misty's lifeless figure. Ash's shirt was soaked in her blood. Ash looked at her body in disbelief and let out a cry of pain, fury, and deep sorrow. ooo end flashback ooo Ash had tears brimming in his eyes. Ash blinked and the tears spilled down his cheeks. Ash didn't try to wipe them away this time, letting them flow freely. The judge nodded at Ash, showing him pity, and spoke "Thank you, that will be all for now." Ash got up and exited the room, taking his seat back with the others. Togepi left Daisy and ran back over to ash. Ash picked the little egg up and set in his lap. Together, the two cried. Pikachu also jumped up onto Ash's lap; the three crying for their loved one. "I would like to see Brock next." the judge ordered. Brock got up and entered the room, taking a seat in front of the judge. "Your side with as much detail as possible, please." ooo flashback ooo "This isn't fair!" Brock was whining, "Ash has a girl. I'm never going to get a girl. I'm doomed to forever be tormented by cupid's arrow." "Don't worry Brock," Misty shook her head at the tanned and toned gym leader, "someone is bound to like you eventualy. You just have to have patience...and class." she added. Brock sighed and looked at Ash with jealousy, which made Ash draw back a little. Brock was about to tell Ash something when a slow song began. Ash and Misty walked onto the dance floor and began dancing. He started looking for someone to dance with, but all the girls were taken. Brock sighed dejectedly and went to find someone to talk to to hide his embaressment. He then noticed Gary watching Ash and Misty. "Don't those two seem perfect together?" Brock attempted to start a conversation. "Yeah, sure." Gary's mind was elsewhere. Brock couldn't get anymore chat out of him, so he went to the bathroom just as the song was ending. He was washing his hands when he heard the thunderous sound of the shot. Brock ran out of the bathroom to see what had happened. Just as Brock had gotten near the dance floor, he heard Ash shout in a mixture of the emotions he must have been feeling at that moment. ooo end flashback ooo "Alright Brock, thank you." Brock nodded and wiped away a tear as he left the room. "Can I see the Waterflower sisters?" The three of them entered the room and sat down in front of the judge. "Your story please." ooo flashback ooo The three Waterflower sisters were chatting lightly with some guys from the city. They weren't boyfriends, but Lily was hoping that the burnette would fix that. Daisy and Violet were munching on some chips and dip and Lily was sipping on punch, basically they were having a good time. Daisy, however, felt that something wasn't quite right. She glanced over her shoulder and noticed Tracey talking to a bunch of muscled men with black suits on and sunglasses, despite it being night time. Daisy was about to get up to walk over there, when a slow song began and she was confronted by the adorable red head she had been talking to. "Want to dance?" he asked. "Like, totally!" Daisy hurried onto the dance floor with the guy. Lily and the burnette had skipped the dancing and went straight to the kissing. Violet and the blonde just chatted, neither of them being good dancers. Violet then noticed Gary stareing at Ash and Misty as Brock walked away from him. Tracey had come up behind Gary as the slow song ended. Violet had walked over to tell Daisy something, who was getting punch with the guy she was dancing with (Lily still making out by the wall) when they heard the shot. Daisy, Violet, and Lily, as well as the burnette and red headed guys, ran over to see Ash and Misty have one final kiss. Diasy gasped and Lily had already started to cry. All three heard the shout of emotions that Ash gave. ooo end flashback ooo "Thank you," the judge motions for them to leave. The three take their seats back outside, crying onto eachother's shoulders. Ash has broken down crying and is holding Togepi close to his chest, who is also crying uncontrolably. Pikachu is trying to comfort his master, but it's not working. "Gary," the Judge calls. Gary stands up and walks into the room, taking a seat in one of the chairs. The judge nods at him and Gary begins his story with a deep breath. ooo flashback ooo Gary looked at Ash, who was getting something to drink at the snack table. Ash had always been Gary's rival until they had developed a recent and odd friendship. Gary was thinking about that day with nostalgia until he heard someone speaking roughly from somewhere behind him. "I'll try," Gary recognized the voice as Tracey's. "No, you won't try," a gruff voice demanded, "you will do this or else." the gruff voiced man handed Tracey something. Gary turned from Tracey and looked back at the dance floor. A slow song had began and Ash and Misty as well as other couples were entering it. Brock walked over to him. "Don't those two seem perfect together?" Brock attempted to start a conversation. "Yeah, sure." Gary's mind was elsewhere. Brock tried to engage him in further conversation, but Gary was deep in thought. Brock gave up and left. Gary then got a strange feeling and turned around to see Tracey standing behind him. "What were you and those guys talking about?" Gary asked. Tracey pulled out a gun and pointed it towards the dance floor. "Hey, what the..." Gasy gasped at the gun. Gary saw that Tracey was aiming it towards Ash! "No hard feelings Ash," Tracey put his finger on the trigger, "I just treasure my life more than yours." Gary did not hesitate as he ran to warn Ash. Gary kept shouting his name. Ash turned around and the shot was heard. Instead of hitting Ash, the bullet his Misty and as she fell, Ash caught her. "No, I'm too late," Gary sighed breathlessly and sorrowfully. Gary watched as Ash and Misty kissed and then Misty fell limp in Ash's arms. The last thing Gary could clearly remember was Ash's shout of mixed emotions. ooo endflashback ooo The judge stood up, not bothering to take notes on what Gary had just told him. "What you're trying to tell me is that Tracey shot Miss Waterflower?" "Yes sir, though he was under the influence of others," Gary said quietly. The judge nodded, thanking him, then Gary left the room; the judge not far behind. The judge walked over to Tracey and looked at him sternly. "Tracey, did you murder Miss Waterflower?" the judge asks. Gasps are heard all around. Even Ash has stopped crying to turn and look at Tracey. "No, I..well...I didn't mean to, it was the guy at Pummelo, he made me." Tracey looked terrified and he had grown pale. "What, exactly, do you mean?" the judge said, speaking deliberately. "When Ash defeated Drake and beat the Orange League, it crushed Drake's dignity. Drake swore revenge on Ash and had been using me as a pawn because he knew I was terrorfied of him." Tracey looked down at his feet. He could feel everyone growing very furious at him. Pikachu was even gearing up for an electric shock attack. Tracey then fell to his knees crying, saying sorry over and over again. "Where's Drake?" the judge asked. "After he found out that I had shot the wrong person, he had fled back to Pummelo." "We will immediantly send someone to arrest him and anyone who was working with him. Tracey, I'm afraid that you are under arrest as well." Two security guards entered the room and took Tracey away as the judge explained to everyone what had happened at the party. Everything had grown to a certain point of inbearability for Ash, who ran from the room and out of the court house. Ash kept running until he came to a pokemon park and collapsed on one of the benches. There, Ash sat and cried until he could not cry anymore. "Hello Ash," a voice harolded. "Huh?" Ash looked up to see Misty in front of him. "But Misty, I thought you were dead." "I am dead," she shook her head, "but I'm in heaven now, so don't worry. Look, I've got wings!" Misty demonstarted her flying abilities to Ash. "Come back Misty," Ash said quietly. "I can't come to you, but you can come to me." she explained. "How?" Ash asked. "You must die too, but don't kill yourself." "I'll die of a broken heart soon enough." "Well, I have a better idea." Misty took his hand and pulled. She pulled out Ash's soul and spirit. "You do realize that this will be permanent." Ash took her in his arms. "And I wouldn't have it any other way." The two kissed and then flew off, back towards the heavens. ooo The next morning, Ash's body is found with a note right beside it. The note read: Don't worry guys, I'm with Misty now. Sincerly, Ash The End Yep, so, what did you think? Corny, I know, but I wrote this a long time ago. Until next time, this is the Lonepichu signing off.
