Olivine City (Here We Come) Disclaimer: I don't own pokemon or the first pokemon movie sound track (which all the songs in this fic come from). This is the first pokemon fan fic I ever wrote, but not the first I submitted. I found it while cleaning today, so I decided to type it up for your viewing pleasure. There is also a sequel to it, which I'll type up as soon as I find it. Well, enjoy. ooo "We're here!" Ash exclaimed as he ran up the path to the Olivine City hotel. Jasmine, the gym leader, needed medicine for her ampharos. It was only availible in Cianwood city and the ship that would take Ash, Misty, and Brock there wouldn't be back for a week. While they waited, Jasmine was allowing them to stay at the famous Olivine Olivel, which was closest to the ocean, on her gym leader credit. "Isn't the ocean beautiful? This is where many people draw their inspiration from." Misty told them as she gazed out at the waves that gently lapped the shore. "For battles I bet," Ash responded, ready to begin practicing for his up-coming gym battles. Misty sighed, knowing that her friend would never understand the artistic side of life. ooo Everyone unpacked and went their seperate ways. Misty went down to the ocean, which was pretty much empty because it was off season for tourists. She had a pad of paper and a pencil. Maybe she could get some inspiration here like so many before her. Ash headed into town looking for pokemon activities to participate in. So far, he wasn't having any luck. Brock, on the other hand, was flirting with each and every girl that he met. Like always, he got repeatedly turned down. ooo Misty sighed as she watched the waves rushing past the sand. Misty started humming the song "It Was You" which she had recently heard on the radio. She stopped when she saw a handsome young man walking along the beach. He spotted Misty and smiled. "They're beatiful, aren't they?" he asked, motioning towards the waves. "Yes, they are," Misty agreed. "Trying to gain some inspiration?" he asked, walking over to Misty, who was sitting on the sand. "Yeah, how did you know?" "Well, the pad of paper and pencil gave it away." Misty blushed slightly. "Plus, I'm doing the same." he pulled out a notepad and a pen. "Oh, I'm Misty. What's your name?" "I'm Danchello." Danchello extended his hand to Misty, who shook it. Danchello then sat down next to Misty on the sand. "Nice to meet you Danchello." "The pleasure is mine, but please, call me Dan." "Can do," Misty began to scribble on the edge of one of her peices of paper. "So what are you trying to come up with?" Dan asked as he pulled the cap off of his pen and stuck it to the bottom. He then ran a hand through his short brown hair. "Maybe a song or a poem," Misty thought for a second. "What about you?" she asked. "Mainly stories or the occasional poem," began Dan. The two carrying on a conversation of what they hoped to write. ooo Brock had released his Crobat for help in searching for girls, however the two of them had had no such luck. The two were now in the forest right outside the city. Brock was sitting on a log with his head in his hands. "Why can't I ever get a girlfriend?" Brock asked Crobat, sighing dejectedly. "Cro," Crabat shook his head to say that he didn't know. Crobat had his wings folded around him and was sitting on the log right next to Brock. "Maybe they get scared off by that Crobat of yours. Most girls aren't partial to pokemon like that," a voice came from in front of him. "Who's there?" Brock sat up and looked around. In front of him was a beautiful girl. She had blue, spikey hair and a hot pink tank top on with jean shorts. She had a small pack slung carelessly over one shoulder and a hand on her hip. "The name's Charletta. Nice to meet you...umm..." "Brock." Brock stood up and held out his hand. Charletta smiled and shook it. "Hey, weren't you the Pewter City gym leader?" Charletta asked, shifting her pack over to the other shoulder. "I was, but my dad took over so I could persue my dream of becoming a pokemon breeder." Brock explained. "A breeder huh? I always did like a guy with a goal. I don't know why you don't have a girlfriend. You seem like a great guy to me." "Really?" Brock felt his heart doing flip-flops inside of his chest, but he resisted the urge to do something stupid like he usually did around girls. "Well, considering I don't really know you all that well," Charletta laughed, using a hand to throw back her hair. Brock's urges wer eto great to resist. He got up and held his hands in front of him with hearts in his eyes. "You're very pretty girl. Me likey." So much for class. "You're just now noticing that?" Charletta laughed and took Brock's hand. "You have a sense of humor too." Brock smiled, holding her soft hand in his rough one. "You betcha." the two walked towards the city, talking all the while. ooo "Do you see any trainers?" Ash asked Pikachu as the two wandered down the streets of Olivine City. Pikachu shook his head no from his perch on Ash's shoulder. "Me either. Well, let's go to the beach and have some fun!" "Pika!" Pikachu agreed. The two then took off at a run towards the beach. ooo "You painted those?" Misty gasped as she looked at the pictures Dan had handed her of pictures he had painted. among those were the paintings Pika Lisa, Staryu Night, and The Screech attack. "Hard to believe, huh? I like to keep a low key, so not many people know what I look like." Dan explained. Misty handed the pictures back to him and he pocketed them. "Those paintings are so beautiful," Misty remembered one time when she had convenced Ash to go to an art museum and had viewed them. They were definately stunning works. "You really think so?" Misty nodded. "Well, I have to go. It's been nice talking to you. Why don't we meet on the beach again tomarrow, same time?" Dan asked. "Sounds good to me," Misty smiled and stood up, brushing sand off of her jean shorts. "See you then." "Good bye for now." Dan waved and walked back to his hotel room. ooo Charletta and Brock were at a resturant sharing a plate of spaghetti. Charletti wasn't afraid to slurp, so Brock didn't feel the need to restrict his eating habits either. In fact, being with Charletta felt really nice and easy to Brock. "So, do you travel alone?" Brock asked through a mouthful of spaghetti. Charletta swallowed and shoved another forkful of sauce and noodle into her mouth, "Well, I usually travel with these two kids who constantly flirt, but won't admit that they love each other. I let them go into town alone because I said I had something to tend to so they could have some alone time. Hopefully, that'll help." "Hey, that's the same with me. I travel with two kids, Ash and Misty, who constantly flirt, but won't make a move on each other." "Mine are Taylor and Crystal, the densest people you'll ever meet." Charletta delicately bit into a meat ball. "We're talking like we own them," Brock laughed. "Oh, but we do." Charletta laughed too. The two finished their plate of spaghetti and Brock took care of the bill. ooo "Hey Misty!" Ash called to the red-headed female. Misty turned and saw her friend walking over to her and grinning. "Hello Ash," she said with a raised eyebrow, suspicious as to why he was grinning so big. "Think fast!" Ash shouted as he plashed Misty. Misty shakes her head and enters 'get-Ash' mode. She ran into the water near him. "I'll make you regret that!" she shouts with a smile, splashing him back. "Ha missed me!" Ash stood, triumphantly dry, except for the hands he had used to splash Misty with and the legs of his pants where he stood in the water. Ash splashed her again and she couldn't quite make it out of the way. Misty held out her soaking arms and growled. "You little twerp!" World War Three broke out in the ocean between Misty and Ash. They were both completely soaked by the time they returned to the hotel. They got changed into their usual wear, except Ash didn't have another vest dry, so he was just wearing a black shirt. Misty had also left her hair down to dry without kinks. "Have you seen Brock?" Ash asked, looking around the lobby of the hotel. "Not since this morning." Misty answered. She had left Togepi upstairs because it was tired and was taking a nap. Misty had left her Poliwhirl in charge while she was away. "Oh well, he's probably on a date with a Joy or a Jenny." Ash shrugged. "Probably," Misty giggled. "I'm hungry," Ash put a hand over his grumbling stomach, "lets go pick up a burger at that Burger Kingdra down the street." "Fine with me, I could use some food too." Misty and Ash left the hotel and headed towards the fast food shop. ooo "So Brock, which hotel are you staying at?" Charletta asked as the two walked carelessly down a street. "Olivine Olive," Brock replied, holding Charletta's hand. "Wow, that's like the fanciest hotel on the beach! How can you afford it?" "Well, we're staying on the gym leader's credit since one of my friends agreed to help her out. Hey Look!" Brock pointed to Ash and Misty, who were walking obliviously down the side walk, "It's my two friends. They must be going out to eat." "On a date?" Charletta asked, interested. "No, but we could make it one." Brock grinned. "To do that, we've got to get them to go somewhere besides Burger Kingdra," Charletta sighed. "I've got an idea," Brock motioned for Charletta to follow him. Brock walked towards Ash and Misty and harolded them from the side of the street he was standing on, "Ash, Misty, there you are!" "Hey Brock!" Misty waved. The two ran over to Brock, after looking both ways before crossing the street of course. "Who's your friend?" Ash asked when he spotted Charletta. "I'm Charletta, pleased to meet you." Charletta introduced herself to the two. "Hey guys, lets go somewhere besides Burger Kingdra." Brock suggested. "Okay, but where?" Ash asked. "How about Igglybuff's Italian Eatery?" Brock suggested. "Okay," Misty agreed. ooo When they arrived, they selected a booth seat close to the window. "Hey Ash, why don't you and Misty go order the food?" Brock suggested. "Okay," the two agreed. They took everyone's order (Brock and Charletta didn't order much at all) and went to tell the waiter what they wanted. "How are we going to get those two alone?" Brock asked, strumming his fingers against the table. "How about we tell them that we left our pokemon in the pokemon center and have to run to get them?" she suggested. "Sounds like a plan, but what about Pikachu?" Pikachu pretended to faint and gave them the thumbs up. "We are excuse ready," Charletta giggled. "Are you sure that the two of you only want a peice of toast to share?" Ash asked. "Yes," Brock said softly, "oh my gosh, I just remembered that we left our pokemon at the pokemon center!" "Yeah, we better go get them before we forget again," Charletta said. Pikachu, behind them put a hand to his forehead and fell over. "It seems your pikachu is tired. Why don't we take him for a check up while we're there?" she asked. "We'll come too," Misty and Ash stood up before Brock and Charletta pushed them back down. "No, stay, it's no trouble at all," Brock and Charletta waved them off, backing out the door and giggling oddly. Ash and Misty looked at each other and shrugged. Once outside, Charletta, Brock, and Pikachu changed into waiter outfits. Charletta and Brock shared their plan with Pikachu who smiled and gave them a thumbs up. "We should play some music for them. Anyone have a stereo?" Brock asked. "I have a stereo and the CD for the first Pokemon movie." Charletta held up a stereo she had pulled from her bag. "How is that possible?" Brock asked. Charletta just laughed nervously and blushed. "Err...now we have to disguise our voices." "Wee wee," charletta offered. "That's French dear," "Quite sorry for that," Charletta put a hand behind her head and blushed again. "I'll go ahead and put the music in there." Brock walked into the resturant with the stereo. He set it on Ash and Misty's table and pressed play. "Here iz some muzic fer ze night." Brock said in a fake Italian accent. He then left before the two could say anything. Misty shrugged as a real waiter brought them their food. "Now what?" Charletta asked. "Bring them some candles," Brock pulled some out of his back pack, "and set them on their table, then light them." "Gotcha," Charletta winked. She picked the candles and a lighter up and entered the resturant. She walked over to the table and placed them in the center, then lit them. "Why are you..." Ash began to ask. "Gotta go," Charletta ran back outside. "What is this all about?" Misty asked. "I don't know, but this song has a nice beat," Ash smiled, nodding his head to the song. ooo "How are we going to get them to dance together?" Charletta asked, putting the lighter back in Brock's bag. "Pikachu pikapi," Pikachu put a paw to his chest. "Okay, we'll leave it to pikachu," Brock watched as Pikachu ran into the resturant over to Ash and Misty's table. "Pikachu?" Ash looked as Pikachu ran over to their table. Pikachu shook his head. "You must be a differant Pikachu, but you really do look like mine..." Ash trailed off. "Pikachu! Pika pikapi pikachu!" Pikachu danced and then pointed to Ash and Misty. "You want us to dance?" Misty exclaimed. She glanced over at Ash. The two held each other's gaze, then looked away, blushing. "Pika..." Pikachu began to charge power. "Okay okay, we'll dance, just don't shock us." Ash held up his hands placatingly. Pikachu stopped charging up power as the two began to dance together. Pikachu nodded his head and left the resturant. "You didn't have to threaten them," Brock told Pikachu. Pikachu put a paw behind his head and grinned. ooo "You're not a bad dancer, Misty." Ash commented. "Thanks. You're not so bad yourself," Misty said back as the two danced until they were sure the crazy Pikachu wasn't around anymore. ooo "We did a good job if I do say so myself," Brock commented, folding his arms on his chest with a grin. "And you did," Charletta grinned, wrapping her arms around Brock's arm. "Touche'. Let's go on a date of our own now." Brock grinned at Charletta. "Yes, lets." the two walked down the street as Pikachu watched his master and his best human friend dance with a satisfied sigh. ooo End Part 1 Wow, this is actually longer then I thought, so I'm going to split it up into parts. Please review and let me know what you think. I forgot what a big AAML fan I used to be ^^;
