Olivine City (Here We Come) Disclaimer: I don't own pokemon or the first pokemon movie sound track (which all the songs in this fic come from) or anyone who sings those songs. This is the first pokemon fan fic I ever wrote, but not the first I submitted. I found it while cleaning today, so I decided to type it up for your viewing pleasure. There is also a sequel to it, which I'll type up as soon as I find it. Please, also remember that this was written before there was a such thing as wailords and wailmer so I made the Lanturn the size of small whales in the wild. Enjoy Part 5 ooo Pikachu woke up early the next morning and stretched. Pikachu turned to see that Ash was still asleep. Pikachu decided to let Ash sleep and go down to breakfast by himself. Pikachu drew a picture of himself eating breakfast and taped it to Ash's forehead so that Ash would know where he had went and wouldn't be able to miss the note. Pikachu quickly ran to breakfast, where everyone else had already gathered. "Pika!" Pikachu called to them. "Good morning Pikachu, where's Ash?" Misty asked the yellow rodent. Pikachu pretended to fall asleep and then pointed up. "Still asleep? Should have figured." Misty rolled her eyes. "Pikachupi, pika pika," Pikachu made kissing faces and laughed. "What's up with Pika-" Charletta stopped talking when she saw the blush that spread over Misty's face. "Oh, so you two finally kissed." Charletta had a big grin on her face. "Pikachu," Misty gave Pikachu a look fit to kill. Pikachu merely giggled and shook it's head. Ash walked into the room at that moment. "Got your doodle Pikachu," Ash yawned. "So Ash, you finally kissed?" Brock slapped Ash on the back affectionately. "How'd you find out?" Ash asked, rubbing his sore back. "Pikachu, but even so, you just told us." Charletta smiled and laughed. Ash was fuming as Charletta winked at him, "Don't worry, we won't tell anyone else or make fun of you behind your back." Charletta took this oppertunity to cross her fingers behind her back. "Pikachu!" Ash shouted and chased the small rodent around the table. Ash had cornered Pikachu, when he decided to retailiate with a thunder shock. Ash fell over, crispy as over baked chicken. "Hey Misty, let's go somewhere else where our friends don't make gossip of us." Ash humphed and left. Misty started to follow when Brock touched her shoulder. "So, did you like it?" Brock asked with a grin. "Umm...well, I...yeah. Mostyly because it was with someone I liked back, though." Brock released her shoulder and she took off after Ash. "Is our work done here yet?" Charletta asked, taking a sip of orange juice. "Not yet my dear. Almost though," Brock gently took her arm and the two left the hotel. ooo By the time Misty finally made it out of the hotel, she couldn't find Ash, so she decided to take Togepi and her other pokemon to the beach to play. Togepi piles up sand to make what it believes to be a sand castle. Misty laughed and offered some seashells to the baby pokemon to decorate the castle. She even put a stick near it and tied a napkin in her pocket to it for the flag. When they finished, Togepi seemed pleased with their handiwork and chirped happily. Staryu was sun bathing, while Psyduck had refused to come out of his pokeball, which Misty found extremally odd. Goldeen hadn't wanted to come out either. Poliwhirl came out, but he looked rather worried. Misty just shook her head, forgetting that pokemon were more in tune with nature then humans were. ooo "Hey," Ash had stopped running when his eyes caught a familiar building. Pikachu looked nervously up at the building and chu'd in confusion. "That icecream parlor is back." Ash walked up to the door and entered. Cypres was at the counter cleaning a mug just like before. Ash tilted his head, confused, then came to sit down on one of the bubblegum pink stools in fornt of the counter. "So, how'd it go?" Cypres asked, turning the mug gently in his hands as he rhythemeticaly polished it. "It went great, but I have a question." Cypres grunted, turning his back to Ash as he picked up another mug. "Did this shop really disappear, and how did you know my name last time?" "I know more than that young man. I know you live with your mother and haven't had a father since you were five. I know that you live in pallet and I know that you had a rough start as a begining trainer." Cypres said calmly, never turning to face Ash. "How do you know this?" Ash asked, and began to grow impatient as Cypres polished three consecutive mugs before placing them back on the shelf. "Even though this is an icecream parlor, people come in here for coffee, rather strange." Cypres finally turned to face Ash with a look of sorrow. "It's not important how I know, it's just important that I do know. I'm your guard. You're a special boy and you need looking after more than you think." Cypres didn't look willing to say anything more, so Ash asked for an icecream. Cypres smiled and handed him a vanilla cone. Ash ate it in silence, sharing it with Pikachu. "Look kid," Cypres spoke as Ash pushed the end of the cone in his mouth, "there are many trials ahead of you and you can't give up. Something out there," Cypres motioned out of the windows at the front of the shop, "wants you to fail. If you never give up, you'll be fine, but the second you give up, bam, they'll have you. This doesn't make much sense to you now, but just don't forgot to never give up, okay?" Ash nodded his head, swallowing his bite of cone. "There's a good lad." The shop then began to turn a crystal color and fade away. Ash fell to the ground as the stool vanished and the rest of the shop with it. Cypres also vanished, but up in the sky, Ash could see a golden bird of lore flying over head; away from the place the shop once was. "Never give up," Ash whispered to himself, confused. Pikachu jumped on his shoulder and the two walked off in silence, each deep in thought. ooo "Alright Togepi!" Misty exclaimed. They had added on to the sand castle the two of them had built and it was now a series of several mounds of sand. Misty knew it didn't look like much, but Togepi had worked really hard on it. Misty pulled out her digital camera from her bag and told Togepi "Stand next to the castle so I can get your picture." The small egg gurgled and stood proudly next to it's handiwork. "Say cheese!" "Toge!" Togepi purrs as Misty snaps the picture. As Misty is putting the camera away, a large wave crashes on to the shore, destroying the sand castle and also causing three really big lanturn to beach themselves. The sky had turned grey and it looked as if a giant storm was fast approaching. "Oh no, what do we do?" Misty looked around worriedly. Staryu and Poliwhirl came running over to Misty and she gets an idea. "Staryu, rapid spin to the pokemon center and get Nurse Joy quickly!" Staryu "hiya'd" an affirmative and then took off towards the pokemon center. On of the closest Lanturn's breathing had become laboured. "Just hang in there," Misty coaxed as she and Poliwhirl tried to push the whal pokemon back out into the sea, to no avail. The pokemon were just too heavy. ooo Staryu had arrived at the pokemon center and began to whirl around Nurse Joy's head. "Is something wrong?" she asked. Staryu called out to her and Nurse Joy nodded her head. "Just lead the way." Staryu took off out of the pokemon center and Nurse Joy ran after it. The two quickly made it to the beach. NurseJoy gasped audibly when her eyes fell upon the large whale pokemon. "Nurse Joy, they're not breathing well, we have to get them into the water." Misty cried out as Nurse Joy ran over to her. Nurse Joy nodded. "Maybe this will help, come on out Blastoise!" A large, blue turtle pokemon appeared in front of her. "Blastoise, use hydropump!" Blastoise readied it's cannons, then began to fire with full force at two of the pokemon, however the two only move about an inch. "Try harder! They moved a little at least, so don't give up!" Nurse Joy shouted, running over and pushing on one of the Lanturn; Misty beside her. Poliwhirl and Staryu were using watergun to try and help out Blastoise. ooo Ash had returned to his hotel room to think more about what he had just experianced, when Brock knocked on his door. Ash opened it, after peeking through the peep hole to make sure it wa ssomeone he knew, and Brock entered, sitting on Ash's bed. "I thought I saw you come back in here, so what's up?" Brock asked. "Nothing, just saw something confusing," Ash looked out the window and gasped, "Oh my gosh, look at those Lanturn!" Ash stood up and grabbed his pokeballs. "We have to help those Lanturn." "You go ahead, I'll go grab Charletta so she can help." Ash nodded and the two made their way out of the hotel. Ash ran down to the beach and released all of his pokemon, except Cyndaquil who was weak against water. It had started to drizzle and the wind was blowing harshly. Ash ran over to Nurse Joy and Misty. "Totodile, help by using water gun! Bayleef and Bulbasaur, try using your vines! Noctowl, whirlwind!" Ash commands and then runs over to help Nurse Joy and Misty push the Lanturn back into the water. ooo Not too long after Ash had arrived, Brock and Charletta ran down onto the beach. Brock had released his Crobat, having it use whirlwind like Ash's Noctowl. Charletta had released her Vaporeon and had it use Hydropump. After two hours, the group had managed to get the smallest Lanturn back into the water, but there were still two left and they weren't doing so well. No one else had noticed because most people had taken shelter from the rain and had stayed away from the beach. "We can't give up!" Ash called as he ran to the second Lanturn and began to push. "We can do it!" Misty was exhausted from pushing the Lanturn and it was raining really hard now. Misty fell to her knees in the sand and shook her soaking wet head. "This is impossible, we're never going to be able to make it in time," she sighed, angry tears coming to her eyes. She was frustrated that she might not be able to help out a water type in need. "They just won't move fast enough." The waves began to come up onto the beach faster and faster. One of the waves moved like a snake, like the beast of the sea and began to wrap it's self around Misty's ankle. Ash looked over from where he was pushing and noticed the wave around Misty's ankle and an even bigger wave behind her. "Misty, you've got to get up, you've got to help!" Ash began to run towards her. "We need more people, more pokemon! We can't do it with just us, we just can't. It's impossible." Misty sighed. "For the first time in my life, I won't be able to help a water pokemon in need." with that said, the wave crashed onto the beach, the wave around Misty's ankle pulled her out to sea. Since Ash wa snear Misty, he too got washed out into the sea from the force of the large wave. "Misty!" Ash yelled, after he managed to break the surface of the water. He looks around, but all he can see in all directions is gray sky and water and the shore line faintly. Ash continues to call out for Misty and swim around, but to no avail. Just as Ash starts to give up, he hears Misty's scream. A lightening bolt flashes in the distance and he can see that Misty is frigthened. "Ash, something's pulling me under," she screams. Ash grabs onto her and holds her, feeling the pulling force himself. "Misty, don't give up," Ash tells her as he dives under the water and attempts to grab at the wave that has it's hold on Misty. Misty's head is pulled under and she looks terrified. "I won't let her go," Ash thinks to himself as he grabs her shoulders and pulls himself towards her. "If she goes I go," Ash pulls himself closer still and brushes his lips against hers. All of a sudden, the two aren't being pulled down anymore. Ash grabs a tired Misty and kicks himself back up to the surface. "Ash," Misty whispers, tired. Ash holds her close and manages to make it back to the shore. Everyone gathers around the two and Ash gently lays her on the sand before collapsing next to her, exhausted. The last thing he saw before completely blacking out is Pikachu, looking at him with big, worried eyes. ooo End Part 5 One mor epart left and this story is completed. Yeah, it's been fun writting it, but I'll be glad when it's over simply becaus eI can work on other things then. 'Til next time, this is the Lonepichu signing out.
