Cabana Casbah Diclaimer: me no owney. Does anyone besides me think that the teacher on Windfall with the Pink hair looks like Nurse Joy from Pokemon? Anyways, please don't kill me because there is a Wingull in the fic, it's a necesary evil, if you want to know why then I'll email you the answer. ... After a quick measure of the ballad of gales, Link and Tetra arrived near Foresthaven, but instead of heading towards Foresthaven, Link turned and directed the winds away from the island. After about ten minutes of smooth sailing, Link came upon the small island where his cabana was located. Actually, this cabana had once belonged to a teacher on Windfall, but Link had traded 20 joy pendants for the deed. Link took Tetra's hand and pulled her onto the sandy beach. However, Link pulled a little too hard and Tetra fell face-first into the sand. Link looked as if he had just seen a redead as he helped Tetra up. Tetra merely winked at him, after all this was Link. What more could you expect from him? This time Tetra took the lead, holding Link's hand and making sure no one else fell as they walked up to the cabana. The butler picture on the door scolded them, "What kind of mischief can two hooligans be up to this late at night? Something not approved by the goddesses I bet." However, after a closer look, somehow, he gasped, "Master Link! I'm sorry I said such a thing, I just haven't seen you in forever. I know you wouldn't do anything wrong in there, please enter." The door swung open and the two entered. "How does the door talk?" Tetra asked, examining the fine oak of the back of the door. "I learned that somethings are better left unanswered." Link took a stick and poked at the fire, unfortunately he forgot about the hole located there and fell down it. "Link?" Tetra inquired, however she saw a grappling hook grab the boundry of the hole and soon Link's figure emerged, slightly covered in ashes. "Have a nice trip?" Tetra asked with a smirk. "No, it kind of hurt when I fell." Link answered, not detecting Tetra's sarcasm. Tetra merely shook her head as she walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around him. Link basked in the warmth of her touch before turning around and kissing her. Tetra sat down and threw her sandels off, hitting a pot and knocking outside, hitting a small green chuchu on the head. Tetra then threw her vest at Link. "I'm beat, so are we still heading to Forest Haven tomarrow?" Tetra asked, stretching out on one of three beds in the room and yawning. Link looked out the window; it was drizzling slightly. "Yes, if the weather's not too bad. I can change day to night, but weather is still a mystery to me." Link said the last sentance more to himself than Tetra. "I wish I could control the weather sometimes too. After all, my whole life depends on the sea and the current weather." Tetra sighed, looking out the window at the stars that were winking outside. A gentle breeze blew outside and it was drizzling slightly; the result of the passing of a small rain cloud. "Well, I don't know about you, but I'm beat. I'll catch you tomarrow." Tetra snuggled under the blankets and looked up at Link. "Good night princess," he smirked, ignoring the false anger in Tetra's eyes at his mock-nickname for her. He kissed her gently and watched as she quickly fell into a deep sleep. Link looked out the window at the rain and an idea hit him, "Can I control the weather?" He walked outside, closing the door gently behind him so he wouldn't disturb Tetra. He climbed to the highest point of the island, with help from the hookshot, and stood surveying the cloud. "If I can control the wind, surely I could control the weather..." Link brought out his windwaker and stood facing the cloud. He raised his baton and began to conduct. He played the wind's requim and then altered it, manipulating each note and holding it out or shortening it. Then he added notes to the mix. He could feel something, an odd sensation at the base of his skull. The feeling was telling him that he was tampering in something that should be left alone, but he ignored it. All of a sudden, a strong gale came rushing by. It was going at least 95 kilometers per hour. Link was knocked off gaurd and blown into the only tree at the top. Lucky that he did, even if there was now a huge pain in his side. If he had not gotten caught by the tree, then he may have been blown clear off the island. Link was clutching onto the tree and his windwaker and forced his arms up in the wind that was picking up speed. Link conducted the wind's requim, normal version, and the winds calmed just as suddenly as they had picked up. Link sighed, brushing dirt off of his clothing. He hoped that no seagulls were harme din the gust because Aryll would be extremally angry if there were any. Link carefully climbed down using the grappling hook. Link wasn't sure if tampering with the elements was such a good idea, but the rush! If he could control the weather he would make the greatest weatherman on the great sea, or better yet, he could use this gift to make sea travel much easier. "Some other time though," Link thought as he headed back to the cabana, stretching and yawning. - Meanwhile, a small Wingull had gotten blown way off course by an unusually strong gale. The Wingull was extremally lost, but was too tired to make it's way back to it's island. Wingull spotted an alcove on one of the islands that had a giant tree in it. Wingull roosted on the tree and settled down for a good night's sleep. -- Well, that's done. Part four isn't long, but it gives out crucial plot information. Uh-oh, Linl's meddling in things best left unmeddled. Reviews please, good and bad ^_^
