Great Fish Caprice Disclaimer: I don't own Wingull, Windwaker, or the Poem Unreturning by Emily Dickedson XxXxXxX Link and Tetra quickly sprinted off of Beedle's boat and onto the shore of Great Fish Isle, waving good bye to the boat as it began to make it's way back out to sea. "Thank goddesses that's over," Link sighed. "Now, to find the King of Red Lions." "The boat is probably on the shores, but there's so much rubble here that we can't really make our way around this island safely. Perhaps we should use that seagull thingy, what is it called again?" Tetra put a hand to her chin. "Wingull!" the seagull creature announced. "If you say so," Tetra looked at the Wingull. "Link, tell it to find the boat." "Why me? That thing's creepy," Link stared at the Seagull. "Because it likes you," Tetra pointed out. Link couldn't deny this as the seagull flew and landed on Link's shoulder. He had barely known this little creature, but it did seem to like him. "Okay then, Wingull thingy, go look for our boat." Link commanded. The Wingull gave a caw of joy and immediantly began to fly around the island. "I guess now we wait." Link and Tetra sat together in comfortable silence on the sand, Tetra leaning her head on Link's shoulder. "You know, this reminds me of a song I once heard on my radio. I spent a lot of time listening to my radio aboard the ship, care to her it?" Tetra asked. "Sure, go ahead. I adore your singing and dancing talents." Link smiled. "It's called, Unreturning: 'Twas such a little, little boat That toddled down the bay! 'Twas such a gallant, gallant sea That beckoned it away! 'Twas such a greedy, greedy wave That licked it from the coast; Nor ever guessed the stately sails My little crraft was lost!" Tetra smiled at Link, who had just fallen over. He sat back up and looked at her. "I've known you for, what, seven or eight years? You still never cease to amze...or amuse...me." Link grinned. "Thought you'd like that," she winked at him. XxXxXxX It was near sunset when Wingull returned. Link followed the small, white and blue seagull to a nearby spot where his boat was being pushed by the waves into a large rock outcropping. Link swam the short distance to the boat and called the wind so he could sail back. When he arrived at the shore, the moon was already rising in the sky. "If our next destination is the Forsaken Fortress, then I certainly don't want to go there at night. I guess we have to spend the night on this island." Link stated as he and Tetra carried his boat onto the shore where the waves couldn't reach it. Tetra had started a fire as Link began to prepare a meal. Luckily Link had retrieved some fruit and nuts from Forest Haven to eat. As Tetra could not in any form of the word cook, Link made a fine stew with the nuts and some wild carrots he found on the island, placed it on the fire, and laid out a pear for each of them. Link then used his hookshot to retreive two coconuts, one for each of them, and cut them gently with his sword. He made a small slit so they would be able to drink the milk without spilling. "Bon' appetite," Link said as he handed Tetra a coconut. The two slurped stew in silence. "Not as good as his grandmother's, but not a bad stew," Tetra thought as she drained her bowl. Together they both managed to finish the entire stew as well as the pears and coconuts. Tetra sat back on a log, content with her full belly. The Wingull cawed annoyed as it had forgotten to be fed. Link tossed the bird a hoi pear, and the seagull creature was quiet the rest of the evening. "Hey Tetra," Link called softly. Link was sitting on a rock beside of Tetra. "Yeah?" she looked over at him. "Back on Dragonroost Island, in the ceramony, I was just wondering... Do you truly love me, or did you just give me the feather because there was no one else to give it to?" Link stood up and kicked at a rock, knocking it into the sea. "Are you crazy? It's obvious I loved you before, I mean why would Gonzo get so jealous?" "I don't know. I was just wondering," Link turned towards the sunset and watched as the sun's final rays disappeared. "Besides, that song I sang to you, I know you understood it, was in Hyrulian. I'm not sure if you know this, but you can't lie in Hyrulian, because Hyrulian is a binding language. Whatever you say becomes the utmost truth and you are bond to up hold it. If there was any doubt in my heart that I did not love you, I would not have sang that song in Hyrulian." Tetra looked up at Link, who blinked. "I love you," he said in Hyrulian. Tetra smiled and winked at him. "I love you, too," she spoke back in Hyrulian. The two snuggled on the palm fronds they were using as a makeshift matress and Tetra soon fell asleep. Link, however, did not find sleep as easy to capture. Link sat up staring at the cloudless night sky and sighed. He knew that he had been close to controlling the weather and was sure he could do so again if given the chance. However, Link did not want to move away from Tetra, so he closed his eyes and cleared his mind. Sleep soon overcame him and he dreamed of clouds. XxXxXxX Link woke up early the next morning and stretched his tired muscles as he stood. Link saw Tetra was still asleep, so he began a fire and started roasting some nuts for their breakfast. The smell of roasting nuts soon woke Tetra and she stood up, rubbing her eyes. "Morning," she mumbled, sitting on a log opposite Link. "Morning," Link yawned, taking the pan off of the fire and tossing Tetra a fork. Together, the two of them consumed the pan of nuts. "So, are we going to warp to the Forsaken fortress?" Tetra asked as she picked a bit of nut from her teeth with her pinky. "No, unfortunately I'm not able to warp us there. The closest island is Mother and Child Isle, but I think that it just warps us inside the island; I really can't remember." "Well, it's worth a try. If not, we can always warp to another island," Tetra suggested. "Alright then, let's go," Link and Tetra hurried to the boat, calling the sleeping Wingull over and feeding him a Hoi Pear. The three climbed aboard and Link played the ballad of gales, directing them to Mother and Child Isle. The gale surround Link and Tetra and they soon disappeared into the morning sky. XxXxXxX Part six is done, finally. Part 7 is really like Cabana Casbah in that it's a mini part, but one full of humor. It's not really necesary, but it's an idea I got from Steph and co in the library one morning. Well, reviews are muchly appreciated :3
