The Greatest Trainer Part 1: Transformation by Lord Kadabra I don't own Pokemon, and none of the characters except Allegra are mine. (And do not use her unless you ask my permission!). All first-person narratives are Allegra's point of view. *** I was very tired; the operation had lasted nearly an hour, but I finally had begun. Giovanni stepped into the operating room, and leaned over me. "How is it? Did the transplants assimilate well?" I shrugged, then decided to try it out. "Stand back," I ordered, and willed myself to use Thundershock. Exactly as the doctor had described, the electro-chemical impulses of my nervous system were converted and amplified into electro flow through the electrodes implanted on my forehead. The lightening was aimed at a voltometer, which whined insistently when the electricity hit it. "440 million millivolts," he announced. "I'm impressed. That's twice as powerful as a Raichu." I smiled at him. "Just wait until I get to the Ice elementals." *** Silver Mountain was just off the road from Viridian City to Indigo Plateau, and it was also the last place you would expect to find Ash Ketchum. He reclined on his seat, and looked out over the sunset. "Beautiful, isn't it Pikachu?" "Pika!" the electric mouse said happily, bounding over to be next to its trainer. Ash stared at the setting sun. The orange-red color of the sky led his mind to one thing: Misty. Ever since he had won in the Jolt League and fled to Silver Mountain, he couldn't stop thinking about her. He didn't know why, but during their last weeks together, she had mellowed, become more friendly, less of a short fuse. Could it be possible that she-? No, he always would be the obnoxious, dense trainer that had more luck than skill in her eyes. It was completely hopeless. *** Misty sat with her feet in the pool, staring blankly at the opposite wall. Her Vaporeon zig- zagged across the pool happily, sometimes transforming into water to make herself invisible. Ever since Ash had left, Misty thought, she couldn't get him out of her mind. Everything reminded her of him. She sighed. She knew she liked him, and when she realized he was going away, she had tried desparately to hint to him that she liked-no, loved him, and that he was the only one for her. But he was the same dense Ash, and hadn't noticed a thing. No, she always would be the obnoxious, whiny girl that had followed him for years for a bicycle in his eyes. It was completely hopeless. *** I cracked my knuckles, preparing to test my strength. I now was able to control five of the elementals: electric, psychic, ice, grass and water. And Giovanni was testing my abilities. "Seadra, go!" he shouted. The dragon-fish appeared, chattering angrily. I smiled. I charged up, sparks emitting from my forehead. Then, I loosed a powerful Thundershock onto the small creature. It fainted immediately, screaming with the pain caused by the intense electricity. "Impressive," the attack elicited. "Go, Golem." The huge ball of rock appeared, jumping up and down in anticipation. I decided to show him my real power. I again charged up for an electric attack, and released a bolt of Thunder from the sky. Every part of the gym was lit up by the electric light. When it faded, Giovanni began to laugh. "Silly girl; electricity is ineffective against-" He saw the prostrate form of the Golem, and recalled it. "Quite impressive. Go, Burakki!" The Dark Pokemon was powerful against most types, so I decided to use psychic. I concentrated, drawing on my psychic abilities to form a blast of pure psychic energy. Once again, the Pokemon fainted before it could retaliate. Giovanni smiled. "I would feel safe to assume that each of your abilities are equally strong. And now, I believe it is time for you to acquire the last of the elemental abilities." *** "We have long been studying the fire sacs of flame Pokemon, and we have found a way to duplicate it in humans," the scientist said. "It's a simple surgical procedure, and there will be no fear of rejection, as the tissue was synthesized from your genetically altered stomach tissue. We have also prepared to soak your body in a flame-resistant solution similar to the solution we soaked your body in to make it immune to ice." I nodded silently. *** "Blastoise, Skull Bash!" I breathed inward, feeling the fire sac heat up to incredible temperatures. With a simple exhale, I breathed out a chain of flames that engulfed and fainted the large turtle. "Quite good," Giovanni said. *** "We were lost as to how you could gain Dragon abilities, until we remembered a certain gene that is common to both humans and dragon species. This solution emphasizes the dragonite aspect of the gene, and reflects it in your gene expression" *** The Lapras opened her mouth for an Ice Beam, but I was too quick. With a quick whip of my hand, I summoned a tornado that threw the poor animal backwards into the wall, where she fainted. "Perfect, Miss Johnson. We now arrive at your final transformation: Dark." *** "We have come to believe that these Pokemon are simply a sect of psychic types that move to use their powers to evil ends. So, we believe that the intention of the attack will allow it to be a dark attack or not. So, there's only to try." *** "Go, Hitmonlee!" I concentrated, wishing to destroy, hurt, create terrible pain, focusing my psychic abilities on that one intention. And a scream from the Hitmonlee told me that the attack had worked, but not the way I had intended. "It seems that because your powers are so strong, your Dark attacks aim to kill," Giovanni said, "But that was very impressive. Your transformation is complete." I smiled. Over the periods of the transformations, I had changed much in appearance. Three metal plates were arranged on my forehead in a triangular pattern. My skin had become a slight orange tint. Four powerful vines were growing from my back, and in times of extreme stress, my skin became more green and shed poisonous pores. My eyes now had three shades: my natual green, a deep blue of psychic activity, and pure black to recognize the use of Dark powers. She had to drink lots of water every day and swim for an hour every week to keep her skin hydrated. And my skin was very cold, so very cold, that the mere touch of me could cause a slight frost. Except in the times that I used fire attacks, my body temperature indicated death. And I had died. Allegra Johnson had become something else, something powerful and unbeatable. You could call me a Pokemon, and if you did, my name would reflect my abilities. It would be...maximestis (a derivation of the Latin for 'greatest beast'). And she would commonly be called...Maxim. She was a new woman, and had a new name to match it. *** Mrs. Ketchum locked up the house, and turned to Mr. Mime. "Make sure you keep the house neat, Mimey!" she shouted, waving to the human-like Pokemon. She then turned to the bus that would take her to Viridian City. It wasn't that far, but she didn't want to waste energy that she would need to climb Silver Mountain. But when she boarded the bus, she didn't take in any notice of how it came from Cerulean City, and how a 15-year old girl sat in the back, reading 'Water Lover's Digest.' She sat quietly, waiting to arrive in Viridian City to visit her son, unaware of the young woman tailing her. *** "Maxim, I have an assignment for you," Giovanni said quietly, walking beside me in the corridor. "You see, for nearly three years in the past, a single person was a fly in my ointment, constantly ruining my plans. Now, he has taken a sabbatical of sorts, and I wish for you to track him down and destroy him. This man's name is Ash Ketchum." I gasped when I heard the name, knowing now that no matter what I did, I would have to end Mr. Ketchum's life, because I had made a bargain with Team Rocket, and they make good on their threats. "Sir," I pleaded, "Can I at least defeat him in fair combat before I destroy him?" Giovanni looked distractedly at me. "Yes, sure, for all I care, you could go on a date with him before you did so, because all I want is for him to die." I nodded, and left him to my room. It was time to seek him out, using every resource at my disposal. *** Ash sat on a large flat rock, staring at the sunset. Another peaceful day, away from the people wanting to talk to a Pokemon Master. Little did he know his mother was coming for a visit, that Misty of Cerulean City was following her, and that a crazy assasin from his hometown was just days away from finding out where he was. All Ash was concentrating on was the sunset, and petting his Pikachu. He didn't know that his peace was short-lived. *** Well, hasn't this taken a nice turn of events? This is a little short, but I think that this length was needed. So keep your eye out for the next part, Searching and Attraction
