It was a beautiful Saturday morning as the sun shot beams of light into every house in Little Root Town. I had awoken bright an early to the sweet aroma of my mom's pancakes. I took a shower, got dressed, grabbed my backpack, and went downstairs. I adored waking up to the sweet aroma on Saturday mornings, ready to watch Saturday morning cartoons, but this day was like no ordinary day. Today I was starting a new chapter in the book of my life, Pokémon training. "Morning mom." I politely said as I walked downstairs inhaling the wondrous fragrant of my mom's pancakes. I expected my mom to be waiting for me downstairs, but to my surprise, she was gone! I found a note on the table next to a plate of pancakes. It was from my mom: Dear Mario, I went to help out at the Pokémon Factory; I'll be back later. Your mom, Martha P.S. I hope you enjoy your Pancakes! I knew my mom constantly went to help out in the Pokémon Cereal Factory but never on a Saturday. The pleasant aroma of the pancakes was engulfed by a burning smell. But it wasn't in the house; the smoke detector would've gone off already. In an instant I thought…The Factory! I thought she had gone to help out like she always does, but it was a Saturday, and I remembered that I heard an explosion last night! I looked out the window and saw thick black smoke coming from the factory! Without thinking of grabbing my stuff, I rushed out the door! I ran till I got to the burning factory! There was a big crowd of people around it. I pushed through and saw my mom helping to bring out the important machinery. Hundreds of workers rushed out the engulfed factory. I went over to my mom who was wearing a safety mask, "What happened?" "Last night a lighting hit the factory and made it go up in flames!" she said devastatingly trying to help a factory worker with his wound. I saw Officer Jenny coming towards me. "Officer Jenny what's going on?" "There's no time, please evacuate the area, the factory can explode any minute now! Please redirect yourself behind the yellow line!" She said gently tugging me out the way to safety. I knew I had to stay here and help, but my Pokémon at the lab was waiting! I didn't even have my stuff, and they needed way more help than they could get. I decided to rush to the lab and get my Pokémon as quick as possible and then come back. My bike had been broken after I carelessly left in the middle of the street while the Garbage Truck past, so I had to run. It wasn't that far, only a couple of blocks away. I raced inside the lab. There I saw no one; the door to his main lab was locked with a note on the door. Before I could read it, one of his assistants interrupted me, "Uh Excuse me, if you're here to get your Pokémon License, Professor Birch is not available at the moment, he had to run an important errand"
