The piece of burnt lumber fell on top of Pikachu as I threw the ball. I cleared the broken 
pieces of wood and saw the Pokéball rocking from sided to side blinking the red light in 
the middle button till it finally stopped with a clink. 

I brought out Pikachu who was frightened and ran straight to my arms. I hugged it so its 
fear could go disappear. I guess all the fear enabled it not to pop up without it weakened 
it first. I guess it knew it would be safe from danger in the ball. I could've saved it myself 
but it was too far away for me to throw myself and save it. I was to close to the exit 
already to reach.

I decided to take it to the lab to Professor Birch to see if it was possible to take it with me. 
I just hope no one had taken Mudkip.

When I finally got to the lab, I expected to see 2 other trainers there, instead I only found 
the Professor. "Ah, good morning Mario, a little late, don't you think?" He has a cast 
from a fractured arm caused by last night's fire.

"I'm ready to receive my Pokémon now." I said, but the Professor paid no attention to 
me, instead it paid attention to the Pikachu on my shoulder. It was a little afraid but the 
Professor had more than enough experience with Pokémon. "Professor!" I said after the 
thousandth time. "Oh, uh, wha?" he said snapping out. "Oh, I'm afraid they already took 
all 3 Pokémon, Mario!" 

"What? Even Mudkip?!" 

"Yes, I'm afraid so. A talented young girl about your age took it. All of them were too 
anxious to start training them that they took off to the first city right away! That's the 
reason you don't see them here"

"Aww man!" I said feeling a little down.

"But tell me, where did you get this incredible rare Pikachu?"

"Remember the fire lat night, well I was there today and I found this Pikachu. I saved it 
from a falling piece of burning lumber."

"No wonder you were so late and took so long to get here. Well let me tell you that it 
looks magnificent! Its very rare indeed, including the most peculiar thing about it, its blue 
eyes!"

"I know, that was the first thing I noticed too!"

"Mario, do you mind if I study it here for a while?"

"What?! Uh-Uh, no way! I want to train this Pokémon!"

"Very Well, I understand, but I meant for right now" 

"Oh, in that case…" I took Pikachu from my shoulder and gave it to Professor Birch. He 
started to get a little nervous. "Careful Professor, he may shock you bad, he did it to me 
once. I gave a sign to Pikachu that it could trust him. He calmed down a little, then the 
Professor rubbed him again as he did before and he calmed down.

First he took him to the static computer to see how may bolts of thunder it could charge 
up. He charged up 100,000 bolts. Higher than any other Pikachu, heck, higher than any 
other Electric Pokémon!

"Wow, Amazing! This Pikachu is rare! Mario, I'm afraid you have the case of a Shinny 
Pokémon!"

"A shinny Pokémon? What's that?"

"Yes, it's something Pokémon get when unusual things happen to Pokémon in ability and 
appearance. It may cause change in formation or color, in this case Pikachu's size and 
color of eyes. A Shinny Pokémon can also have specific attacks that that Pokémon 
regularly doesn't have the capability to learn"

"Whoa!"

As soon as the Professor finished talking, we heard a sudden crash in the window.
