I walked along the beautiful path of Route 101 with my loyal Pikachu on my shoulder. We looked around gazing at the beautiful scenery watching Pokémon from all around waiting to see one I wanted while walking to Rustboro where I will earn my first badge. After walking for a while, we decided to sit down by a huge berry tree under the cool shade to rest. We picked some berries to eat while still looking around for a Pokémon to catch. Pikachu seemed to enjoy the berries and it seemed it made him a little happier and healthier. "Wow, you really are cute. A Pokémon this special deserves a nickname" I thought for a good nickname but then decided it was better to just keep it as Pikachu, it was a great name already by itself! As we kept on eating we saw a green bush rattle. We got prepared for anything that might come out, good or bad! The creature behind the bush soon revealed itself to be a Chikorita! The Chikorita came out to take a drink at a nearby pond. I took out my Pokédex, [Chikorita: The Leaf Pokémon, this Pokémon likes to bask in the sun…] "Wow, a Chikorita!" I knew I had to catch this Chikorita. Not only did I always want to catch one, but their power was stupendous. "Are you up for a battle Pikachu?" Pikachu said in a battling position ready for any order. The Chikorita noticed us and looked ready to battle. This Pokémon was strong, you could tell because of its nice colored skin and look in eyes. Besides, a Chikorita would normally run away, but this one wanted to stay and battle. "Pikachu use your Quick Attack!" Pikachu moved swiftly through the field, he was so fast that Chikorita was confused trying to figure out where Pikachu had gone, before she could attack, Pikachu's Quick Attack had already hit. Chikorita was merely pushed as she took the hit and stood her ground. She came back and tackled Pikachu, which took the hit hard. "Pikachu, hang in there, try your Thundershock!" Pikachu quickly got up and shot blue bolt of thunder at Chikorita but surprisingly, she twirled her leaf to avoid and doge the attack! This Chikorita was strong, but stubborn. I had to keep on going, but Pikachu was getting tired. Chikorita were known for being stubborn and this one didn't look like it was going to give up any time soon. "Pikachu, Double Team!" In an instant not hundreds but thousands of little Pikachu surrounded Chikorita. But surprisingly Chikorita knew exactly where Pikachu was and shot a powerful Vine Whip, which left Pikachu hurt bad. This Chikorita's level was high, too high, but I knew I could never give up. "Pikachu wait for it to make a move." Pikachu followed orders and stood there patiently waiting for Chikorita to attack, finally Chikorita fired another one of her powerful Vine Whip and this time we were prepared. Chikorita wrapped its vines around Pikachu and slammed it a couple of times, but then I thought…"Pikachu, use your Thunderbolt!" I knew electric attacks weren't that effective against Chikorita but it was worth a try. Pikachu took aim and delivered a strong Thunderbolt attack, which ran down Chikorita's vines and zapped her. She looked tired, so I decided to throw a Pokéball. "Pokéball Go!" I threw the Pokéball elegantly and it sucked Chikorita right it, it had no more power to struggle out. The Pokéball wiggled from side to side rocking this way and that till…it ended in a clink! "Yeah, I got a Chikorita!" I said picking up the Pokéball containing Chikorita striking a pose while doing a victory peace sign. Pikachu said happily doing a victory peace sign as well. "Who would you like to meet your new buddy, Pikachu?" Pikachu said happily signing a yes. I pushed the small button in the center of the Pokéball releasing my first captured Pokémon. Chikorita came out yawning and looked around confusedly. "Hello there Chikorita, I'm your new trainer and friend, Mario!" I sad reaching out to touch her, but instead what I got was a taste of its vine whip. It slapped my hand with its leaf rudely. "Chikorita! Why'd you do that for?" Pikachu decided to try his luck and see if he got along with Chikorita. He said extending his hand, but Chikorita just turned her head around ignorantly. After trying and trying we knew it would eventually learn to like us, so I just put her in her Pokéball so things wouldn't get nasty or hard. That night I set up for camp near a lake. The scenery was beautiful. I took our Chikorita and all of use looked at the night bright sky and its shimmering stars. We all gazed up; I looked at my PokéGear and read 8:00. I looked up at the moon and said "Good Night Mom" and went to sleep. At night I decided to leave Chikorita out to breathe the fresh air. It was still a little stubborn and decided to go out for a night walk. We were still asleep but soon awoke to Chikorita's sudden cry for help!
