  ~Sleepy.... tried...... must stay.... awake......~ I thought, starting to fall 
asleep. Maybe I should tell you who I am. 
  I'm Ash Ketchem. I'm 12 years old and I'm also a Pokemon Trainer. I had just 
gotten a chance to rest now, but I don't want to fall asleep, seeing the fact 
that I'm having fun goofing off with my new friends. 
  Oh wait... maybe I should back up..... big time. 
  It all started that one day.....
 
  I was taking a break from Pokemon and started to do something new.... dueling. 
I've been dueling for awhile. Well, I was looking at my favorite card, Dark 
Necrofear, when this light came from nowhere. "What the-" I said as I stared 
into it. It started to blind me the more I stared into it. I didn't know what I 
should have done. ~Come on, Ash. You're no cowrard.... walk up to it....~ I 
thought. I steped foreward, into the light. Before I knew what was happening, I 
looked at my arm. It was.... disappearing into the light. "Wha-?!" I cried as 
the light caputered my whole body. 
  "I just found him laying in the grass." 
  "Yeah. Never seen 'im, though. Wonder who he is....."
  ~Voices.... I hear.... voices.....~ I thought as I slowly opened my eyes.
  "Hey! I think he's awake!" A female called. 
  I sat up slowly, and looked around. "Where...... where am I?" I asked.
  A small kid with hair like a star and a puzzle thing hanging from his neck got 
up and said, "You're in my room. I found you laying down in the grass. You were 
knocked out." 
  "I...... was? All I remember was being swalloed by a huge, bright light." I 
said in a tried voice. 
  They five kids looked at each other, then back at me. "That's kind of werid." 
A boy with white hair said. He had a ring like thing hanging from neck. 
  "Anyway, who are all of you?" I asked. 
  The short kid said, "I'm Yugi Muto."
  The tall blonde kid introduced himself, "Joey Wheeler's name! Nice to meet 
ya!"
  A tall boy with pointy brown hair exclaimed, "Tristan Taylor."
  The girl with brown hair said, "Tea Gardener."
  Lastly, the boy with white hair said, "Ryou Bakura. Nice to meet you."
  "Hi...... I'm Ash Ketchem." I said. I looked around some more. ~How'd I get to 
the Yu-Gi-Oh! world? How?! The light just came out of nowhere...... and it took 
me here..... was I supposed to come here?! I guess.....~ I got out of bed and 
strechted. 
  "Hey, ya wanna enter a tornument? It's the Battle City tornument!" Joey 
offered. 
  "Battle City? I guess I can give it a shot." I said, smoothing my black hair 
with my right hand. 
  The next day, I was walking down the street with Yugi, Joey, Tea, Tristan, and 
Ryou. "Hmpf, looks like the geeks have a new friend. How nice." A voice called. 
  I turned around as Joey said, "Aw, shut up, Kaiba!!"
  "Kaiba?!" I questioned, blinking my eyes. 
  Then a small kid stepped foreward. "That's right! Seto's my brother! So if you 
know what's good for you, you'd show some reasectp!"
  "Uh, sorry. I'm new here and I don't know everyone that well." I apolgized.
  "What's your name, anyway?" Kaiba asked. 
  "My name?" I asked, pointing at myself. "I'm Ash Ketchem. I'm entering the 
Battle City tornument, I guess."
  Kaiba laughed. "Only good duelists can enter that tornument. You can't enter!" 
  That got me upset. "To let you know, I've won a total of 13 duels and only 
lost twice!" I said. Then I showed him my strongest card, Dark Necrofear. 
  Kaiba looked at me strenily. "Feh... fine."
  I smiled slightly. "Th-thanks, I guess."
  Kaiba walked away. The small kid, his brother, ran after him, then turned 
around to me. "By the way, I'm Mokuba!" He said then ran after his brother.
  The day after, me, Yugi, and Joey went to get our duel disks. I was luck 
enough to be able to enter the tornument. 
  After I got back to Yugi's place, I layed down on the little bed I made on the 
floor. "Battle City starts soon, right, Yugi?" I asked Yugi.
  "Yup. Are you nervous, Ash?" He asked me. 
  "Me?! Nervous?! Well..... sort of....." I said.
  Finally, the day of when the tornument arravied.
