(this story takes place 10 years after ash left on his
journey and he is now the league champion)

CHAPTER 1
******
The sun shown brightly over the city of pallet as a young 
 boy got up from bed.(his name was matt)Matt!! All matt ever dreamed about 
 was being a pokemon master like ash ketchum,and now he was finally old enough.
Its time for you to go take your PTE!!(pokemon trainers exam), his mother
called.
Oh Man!,I completely forgot!!,
 matt yelled. He quickly changed and rushed downstairs.
He was about to run out the door when his mother caught him,
Young man!! you arent going anywhere until you have a healthy 
 breakfast. Matt let out a sigh and sat down to eat. After he was done 
 he said goodbye to his mother and took off toward the local pokemon center.

Matt ran to the pokemon center at top speed and arrived at about 11:15.
There were already about 100 people there already.
He signed up and sat down to wait. Hello,what's your name,said a kid about 
 the same age as matt.Matt,he said. My name is Mark,are you starting your
pokemon
 journey too!?. Too!?,Oh you are!?,cool,exclaimed Matt. They talked for about an 
 hour until matt's name was called. He said goodbye and walked toward
 the exam room.The first part of the test was matching the pokemon on
 the right to its weakness on the left,this part was easy for Matt.

The next part involved what to do if a pokemon was injured,this part was 
 a little harder but Matt still thought it was pretty easy. The last part
 involved identifying a pokemon by it's shadow,this part was hard because
 you could'nt tell which part of the pokemon was the botttom. After he was
 done he turned his exam into nurse joy. He waited for an hour until he was 
 called,Matt Finnamore,your test has been graded,Nurse Joy called. Matt went 
 and took his test.Wow!!,Matt exclaimed,a perfect 100%!!. Matt was very
 happy and couldnt wait till the next day when he would get his first pokemon.

On Matt's test it gave him a reference to Prof.Oak's website. He got on his
 computer and checked it out.Sweetness!!,Matt exclaimed as he checked out 
 the pokemon Prof.Oak were giving out tommorow,there was:
 weedle
 caterpie
 meowth
 bulbasaur
 pidgey
 rattata
 charmander
 geodude 
 zubat 
 squirtle

Matt's favorite pokemon was charmander and he hoped he would get it.
The website said he could e-mail Prof.Oak requesting a certain pokemon,
 but wasn't guarenteed to get it. Matt sent an e-mail requesting a
 charmander. Matt then ate dinner and went to bed,very excited about
 the next day.

Matt woke up the next morning at about 10:00. He was 
 already late so he jumped out of bed,ran downstairs,kissed his mother
 goodbye,and took toward Prof.Oak's Lab. He was almost there when he 
 turned a corner and ran right into a person also walking toward Prof.
 Oak's Lab. Oh!! Im so sorry!!,said Matt. He then realized it was the 
 guy he met at the pokemon center the day before. He helped him up
 and then asked,what are you doing here? Im on my way to get my first 
 pokemon,explained Mark. Oh!?,said Matt,so am I,do you want to come 
 with me? Sure I guess,shrugged Mark.They were almost there when they 
 saw a charmander on a rock being attacked by a bunch of magnemites.
Hey!! Shoo!!,said Matt.Matt ran up and helped the charmander fend off
 the magnemites.The magnemites were at low levels and didnt know any 
 electric attacks yet so after a while they grew tired and left.He
 helped the charmander up and asked if it was okay.Char!Charmander!!
 (yes,thanks to you),it said.Matt thought"great i find my favorite 
 pokemon in the middle of nowhere and i don't have a pokeball to 
 capture it with.He started to walk away when the charmander was trying
 to think of someway to repay him when he saw Matt's backpack.

Matt finally made it to Prof.Oaks Lab.They waited what seemed like forever
 until Mark's name was called,he said he would talk later and went to get 
 his first pokemon.Finally Matt was called to go see Prof.Oak.He walked 
 into his office and Prof.Oak motioned for him to sit down,he did.
You e-mailed me saying you wanted a charmander,correct? Matt nodded.
Well im sorry but the shipment of charmander never came.The truck driver
 said they lit the truck on fire with their tails.Matt was stunned.He really
 wanted a charmander,but it didnt look like he was going to get one.He 
 sighed and asked for the list of remaining pokemon,they were:1 zubat,
 2 caterpie,2 weedle,1 rattata,and 1 squirtle.Matt didn't want a bug or a 
 rat,and he heard zubats weren't very strong so he decided on squirtle.
******
He was about to tell Prof.Oak when something red popped out of his 
 backpack.Charmander!,it said.Charmander?!What are you doing here?,
 asked Matt.Charmander pointed to Matt's pokeballs on Prof.Oak's desk.
Prof.Oak chuckled,"it looks like you got the pokemon you wanted afterall.
Matt smiled and dropped a pokeball onto charmanders head and it was
 immediately turned into energy and absorbed into the pokeball.The 
 tournament out back begins in 10 minutes,said Prof.Oak.Matt thanked him
 and headed outside with his new pokemon by his side.
