Many years ago, in the lovely Pallet Town, two young five-year-old children were enjoying the fields of flowers and laughing the day away.  Young Gary Oak and his best friend Marissa Lee were playing in the sunshine with smiles on their faces until sunset.  They would share secrets, stories and even jokes with each other.  It seems as though that they would be inseparable for years to come.
Unfortunately, bad news has struck the Lee residence:  The Lees have to move to Sunnyville resulting from job transfers.  When Marissa broke the news to Gary, his heart was broken.  Several days later, Gary went to see Marissa for one last time before she moves away.  'Marissa' Gary said, 'This is for you!' as he hands her a gift which was his old teddy bear.  'Thank you Gary!  I'll cherish this moment forever!  No matter how far we are from each other, we'll always be friends!' Marissa said.  Just then, she asks her mother if she could take a picture of the two before her family moves.  She accepted and then takes the picture.  Before Gary left the house, his last words were 'I will remember you, always!'.  Back at his house, he locked himself up in his room crying not wanting to come out for dinner that night.  Every day, he would think about her and all the good times while being together.
Ten years later, Marissa was still missing Gary back in Pallet Town.  She would try to write letters to him, but none of them get answered.  What she doesn't know is that her childhood friend has become a Pokemon trainer.  'You know what?  I might try to find Gary and see if we could be together again.'  Marissa thought to herself.  Soon, she was preparing to dress herself to look mysterious.  She and her Pokemon Pidgeot bid farewell to her parents and then off they go into the world.  Will Marissa be able to catch up to Gary?  Stay tuned.............
