Last time, Marissa had finally met up with her long lost childhood friend, Gary 
Oak.  Now, the Johto League Silver Conference is about to be under way!  Will 
Gary and Marissa's love be smooth-sailing or on the rocks?
 
*in the hotel room late at night*
 
Gary:  Marissa, what's wrong?  *puts his hand on Marissa's
         shoulder*
 
Marissa:  I've looked for you all this time because you didn't
            write me back.  Was it because that you've forgotten
            about me?
 
Gary:  Well, I almost did.
 
Marissa:  Why Gary?????  *starts crying*
 
Gary:  Please let me explain!  After you moved away, I felt 
        so bad about it that I didn't want to come out of my             room 
for days!  Then, a little something managed to
        cheer me up.  
 
Marissa:  What was it?
 
Gary:  Going over to my grandfather's laboratory to study the
        Pokemon!  
 
Marissa:  Then, you started to forget about long after that.
            Right?  *sniffle*
 
Gary:  *shakes his head*  No!  That wasn't even half the 
           story!  Please let me continue!  OK!  It was then
           that I wanted to become a Pokemon trainer and then
           become a Pokemon master someday.  But, Marissa,
           I almost forgot about you.  OK?  Please understand
           me!  *kisses Marissa on the cheek*
 
Marissa:  *puts out her hand to Gary's face*  Please!  Just
            leave me alone!  *runs out the hotel room*
 
Gary:  Marissa, wait!  *sigh*  Maybe she'll feel better by 
        tomorrow!  Oh, tomorrow's my match with my block
        opponents!
 
The next day......
 
Ash:  Well, I'm really gonna win against the two other 
        opponents on my block!
 
Misty:  Don't get your hopes up!
 
Brock:  Yeah!  Let's just enjoy the day!  OK?
 
Ash:  Huh???  *sees Marissa crying on a bench*  Marissa,
        what's wrong?  
 
Marissa:  Gary almost forgot about me when he started 
            becoming a Pokemon trainer!
 
Ash:  Why would Gary do that?
 
Marissa:  Because he probably thought that it would really
            occupy him so much that he'll just forget about me.
 
Ash:  Oh, I'm sure he wouldn't do that!  Listen, Gary and I 
        grew up together.  Sure, we got into some squabbles,
        but we would eventually laugh about it someday.  You
        see, friendships would always be forever no matter 
        what happens.  
 
Marissa:  You think so?
 
Ash:  I know so.  Trust me!  Now, I gotta go eat breakfast 
        and get ready for my first match of the day!
 
Marissa:  I'll think about you what you said.
 
Ash:  OK!  Bye!
 
Misty:  I'm sure you and Gary will become friends again.
 
Brock:  I think so too!
 
Marissa:  Thanks guys!
 
The block matches went under way and then Marissa decided to watch Gary in his 
matches with two other opponents, Evan Dotterson and Heather Yorkston.  
 
*1st match: Gary vs. Evan*
 
Announcer:  Today's the first match in the L Block for 
                   Pokemon trainer Gary Oak of Pallet Town and
                   Evan Dotterson of CherryGrove City.  Now, the
                   computer will decide who will make the first 
                   move.  
 
*the computer light lands on Gary*
 
Gary:  Go Golem!
 
Golem:  GOLEM!!!!!
 
Evan:  Go Machoke!
 
Machoke:  MACHOKE!
 
Gary:  Golem, Roll out attack now!
 
Golem:  Golem!  *rolls to Machoke*
 
Evan:  OK Machoke!  Take down!
 
Machoke:  Maaaaaaaaaaaa-choke!
 
Gary:  OK!  Let's shake things up!  Magnitude! Now!
 
Golem:  *jumps in the air and back down again*
 
Machoke:  Maaaaaa-choke!  *faints to the ground*
 
Referee:  Machoke is unable to battle!  Golem wins!
 
Gary:  Way to go, Golem!  
 
Golem:  GOLEM!
 
Marissa:  Maybe Gary hasn't forgotten about me after all.
            I'll watch him for the rest of his matches.
 
Marissa was amazed by the amount of skill Gary had but what he doesn't know is 
that Marissa has become a Pokemon trainer herself.  
 
*next day 2nd match:  Gary vs. Heather*
 
Announcer:  Today's match is Gary Oak of Pallet Town vs.
                  Heather Yorkston of Mahogany Town!  Now, the
                  computer will decide which trainer will make 
                  the first move!
 
Marissa:  GO GARY!  YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO BE
             A GREAT TRAINER!
 
Gary: *looks at the audience for Marissa waving and then
           smiles*
 
*the light lands on Heather*
 
Heather:  Go Meganium!
 
Meganium:  Meganium!
 
Gary:  Nidoqueen!  Go!
 
Nidoqueen:  Roar!
 
Announcer:  It's Nidoqueen vs. Meganium!  This could a good
                  chance for ground type to tackle a grass type
                   but only time will tell.
 
Gary:  OK, Nidoqueen, use your hyperbeam!
 
Nidoqueen:  Nido!  *blasts the hyperbeam*
 
Heather:  Meganium, use your vinewipe to jump and dodge
               that hyperbeam!
 
Meganium:  *uses vinewipe*  
 
Gary:  Wow!  What was that?
 
Heather:  That was Meganium's special move!  OK,
               Meganium, use your solar beam!
 
Meganium:  MEGA!!!!!!!!!!
 
Gary:  Dodge it, Nidoqueen and use Hyperbeam!
 
Nidoqueen:  Nido!!!!!  *uses hyperbeam*
 
Meganium:  Mega!!!!!!!  *faints to the ground*
 
Referee:  Meganium is unable to battle.  Nidoqueen wins!
 
Gary:  Good job, Nidoqueen!
 
Marissa:  Ahhhh, how amazing!
 
Later that day.......
 
Ash:  Let's see where I am on the board!
 
Misty:  Harrison made it to the victory tournament!
 
Ash:  That's great, but where am I?
 
All:  AHHHHHH!  
 
Ash:  I'm up against Gary?!?!?!
 
Gary:  Well, hope you had fun at the conference because
        your time will be cut short by my victory.  Oh, one thing
        about tomorrow's match:  YOU WILL BE TOAST!
 
Marissa:  Oh no!  Ash vs. Gary!  I hope things will be alright!
            Oh dear!
 
Uh oh!  Ash and Gary are about to battle for the first time in a league, but 
trouble arises for Marissa because her uncertainties with Gary.  Will she be 
able to apologize to him in time for his match against Ash?  Stay tuned for Part
