Chapter Ten: About Mathew's Dream Mathew was sleeping restlessly, stressed and worried about the disappearance of Joseph. I was going to change that, I hoped. ~~~~~ Mathew spun around, in a swirl of blue mist. He fell down and hit an invisible floor, unable to get up. A masked figure walked up to him and lifted him up by the arm. "Mathew," the figure's voice echoed. "Where will you be if you don't change your past?" The figure waved a gloved hand and the mist faded, showing a small boy with hair that was spiked up like Mathew's now and wearing a Poke immaculate uniform. It was Mathew as a third grader. He was looking around, and spotted a girl with long hair, me. "Hey!" he called. I spun around and faced him. "What?" I asked. "Lets battle!" he challenged. He sent out his starter pokémon, Doduo and I sent out my Charmander. "Peck!" "Ember!" I ordered. Charmander swung its tail around to the front of its body and began swishing it backwards and forwards in the air. Little sparks of flame flung off and were scattered around the area. Doduo was hit, but began to charge and hit Charmander dead on with its two beaks. Charmander fell backwards onto its tail, but got up. It's claws glowed for a second, then it drew its paw across the eyes of one of the heads of Doduo, making the two birdbrains fight. "Charmander! Ember it again!" "Doduo! Fury attack!" Mathew sharply ordered. Doduo stopped bickering and moved its heads fast, up and down, hitting Charmander continuously. Charmander tried to defend itself by attacking with its tail flame, but Doduo overpowered it and it was defeated. I recalled it silently and grabbed another pokéball, tossing it out into the battle. Out came my beautiful flame horse, Ponyta. "Ponyta! Do the combo!" I called. I had taught it a combo that I rarely used now, and it was about to use it then. It began to charge at Doduo, and knocked it hard. Doduo went skidding back several feet, where it was slammed by Ponyta's hoof. It ducked in time to avoid being slapped across the head by Ponyta's tail, and began to spin its beaks fast, like a drill. They drilled into Ponyta's side, and that was too much for poor Ponyta. The Ponyta couldn't take anymore pain, and slumped down to the ground on its knees, fainted. "I win!" Mathew cried. "Good match," I said, recalling Ponyta. "What's your name?" "I'm Mathew Lamron," Matt replied. "Hi," I said. "I'm Tara Erif." "Remember that?" the stranger, asked Mathew. He nodded, still watching, scared. "Now, remember this." The shadowed figure waved his arm in the air, and the mist covered everything again. By a swish of the figures arm, it faded, revealing another scene, this time, of a classroom. Mathew was in year four, and on his group table, sat Robert, Dion, Joseph and I. "Miss," Mathew asked, putting up his hand. "I don't feel well." He didn't look well either. He was all pale in the face, and was looking very tired. He made a gagging noise, and let out a mouthful of brown, green, liquid with chunks of yellow and orange. Spew. "Eww!" Robert shrieked. "Oh gross," Dion complained. Joseph turned away and Mathew looked ashamed, and began to cry, like everybody does when they spew. I moved towards him, and patted him on the back. "Don't worry Mathew." I had said. "I think you have seen enough," the stranger said. Mathew looked at the figure, puzzled. "What do you mean?" he asked. "I mean this!" The stranger cried, whipping the clothing off, and revealing her true identity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Yah!" Mathew cried. "Tara!" He sat up and looked around. It was all silent in the boys cabin, and only him and I were awake. Yes. I was awake, pretending to be asleep on the top bunk
