Part I - A New Master

Chapter Two -

Welcome to
Future

The creature was huge, tall and strong. It had two small wings with green leathery skin underneath, and scaly leathery orange hide. Its face was one of innocence, and its arms and fists looked like they could pack a powerful punch. The dragon lifted its head and roared in a cry of war.

Missingno was ready, in a blur of shade flew down around the Dragonite, pulling it into a bind with its body. Dragonite slashed at Missingno with its fists, and broke the energy, which hovered up into the sky and joined with the other bits of energy to form the bird again.

Irene frowned. This last pokémon would be hard to defeat. For the second time, emotion crept into the expression, this time pure hatred. This Dragonite was like no other, yet Missingno could overcome it.

"Missingno! Ebony Spiral!" Irene called, telling her pokémon what to do for the second or third time. Byron raised an eyebrow.

"Dragonite, counter with Mystic Storm!" Byron instructed. Dragonite nodded, and closed its eyes, hands in front of it. As Missingno began to fly around in a circle speedily in the sky, Dragonite began to create a small lilac energy sphere in the center of her hands.

The sky blackened, aside from the fact that it was twilight, the clouds created by Missingno's appearance turned a dark shade of purple and pink. Missingno had become a spiral of darkness, and was just getting bigger.

With a clap of Dragonite's hands, the sky flashed pinky purple, and great big raindrops plopped down from the clouds, and onto the stadium. Violet lightning cracked in the sky, as the Mystic Storm was complete.

Missingno's Ebony Spiral was nearly as large as the Dragonite now, as it spun out of control. It was like a spinning disc saw, and it began to head straight for Dragonite. Looking up, the ocean eyes of Dragonite widened as the spiral plummeted right into the stomach of Dragonite.

The violet lightning struck Missingno, and Missingno was forced to stop his attack on the Dragonite. "Dragonite! Hyper Beam!" Byron called.

Irene knew this Dragonite was exceptionally strong, but Missingno was way stronger.  "Missingno," Irene spoke. "Forget what I said. Unleash power."

Missingno screeched, as the lightning around him cracked in the sky. A black aura suddenly shot from behind Missingno and spread forward, as Missingno became stronger. Suddenly, in a flash of light, Missingno was plummeting down, talons first.

Coming across Dragonite's face with his sharp talons, Missingno pulled Dragonite off the ground and dropped the large dragon back down. Dragonite fired off the hyper beam, completely missing Missingno.

Nose diving again, Missingno began to spin, becoming a drill in the air, and smacked down on Dragonite's tail, and began drilling through the leathery skin.

"Dragonite!" Dragonite howled, as Missingno drilled into its tail. Dragonite swayed a bit, but thumped its tail to get Missingno out of it. Missingno stopped drilling, and grabbed the skin on Dragonite's back with its sharp claws.

Dragonite staggered across the arena, with Missingno pecking the back of its head so hard that blood was coming out slowly. With a heavy thud, Dragonite was down.

"Dragonite, no," Byron whispered, just staring at his blood covered pokémon. Missingno flew over to Irene's trainer box, and Irene started stroking its black feathers.

"Missingno is the winner!" the referee shouted. "The new Tri-League Champion is Irene Cooke of the Rebellion League."

Byron hung his head, trying not to cry. For over a year he had trained that Dragonite, it had won him the position of master, and lost him the position of master. He couldn't believe it as he drew the pokeball and whispered, in a choking sort of voice, "Return, Dragonite."

He had lost. Irene was the winner. Those words rang through his head.

Why? Why? WHY? He turned around, pokeball still in hand, and walked out of the stadium, upset about his loss.

Exiting the stadium, he was hit by the media, firing questions at him. "How do you feel about loosing to Irene?" one shouted. "Are you going to compete next year?" another asked. "What do you plan on doing now that you're not champion anymore?" a third yelled.

Byron shoved them away from him and continued walking, the crowd of newspaper reporters and radio announcers following him.

"Hold it right there," a voice commanded to the media, making Byron turn around in shock. There, stood Irene, now the champion of the Tri-League, her hair blowing in the wind. The media lost interest in Byron as they charged towards Irene with questions. "Shut the hell up and get lost! I have no time for immature questions from the press," Irene told them, leaving them in shock as she walked by.

"What are you doing here?" Byron asked as Irene approached him.

Glancing back at the press, Irene replied. "We have to talk. AWAY from those meddling fools." She grabbed Byron's T-shirt sleeve and led him into the world famous Tri-Champion Park. She lead Byron by the playground, by the electronic list of Tri-Champion winners (which had just displayed Irene Cooke), and into a clump of trees and bushes where nobody else was.

"What did you want to talk about?" Byron questioned, confused.

Irene kicked him with her jogger. "Wait here." With that commandment, she sent out her Houndoom and her Golduck to guard Byron, while Missingno created an Ebony Spiral around Irene. When Missingno flew up into the sky, Irene's tame trainer outfit was gone.

Byron got a bit scared. He wasn't used to girls in nice trainer outfits changing to short short tops that only covered the chest line, or leather jackets that went down to the back of the knees. And he defiantly wasn't used to seeing girls in short mini-skirts and high boots like the ones Team Rocket wore.

"For one thing, I'm not after sex," Irene informed him, smirking. "Something more valuable than that. Golduck, Houndoom, Missingno, now!"

Byron looked at Irene, as she shoved him onto the ground. "Say bye bye."

Houndoom leapt onto Byron and began crunching Byron's body, while Golduck psychically kept his screams of pain silent. Irene watched, smirking, Missingno behind her.

"Why are you doing this?!" Byron managed to gasp.

"Why?" Irene repeated. "WHY? You want to know why?" Byron nodded, as Houndoom chewed his flesh. "Well, I might as well tell you. You see, a long time ago, in my house in the rebellion league…"

"I was an only child. My mother and father loved me so much; they'd do anything for me. Except let me go out on my own. I lived in Howdown, a small village in Chartreuse Valley. Mother, father and me were a happy family, and members of the Hope Clan. A secret organization to destroy the Team Rocket clan. My mother, I remember her saying that if something happened to them to go into the attic and grab the pokeball. I didn't know what she meant…

"One day, I got home from kindy, to find the house empty. There was a message on the answering machine. Mr Kinkle from the Hope Clan had left a message saying that mum and dad were going on a secret mission for about 2 years to destroy the latest Rocket plan. I accepted this and with my Psyduck, we lived in my house.

"About 6 months later, I got a phone call from an unknown user. Opening it, there was a shaded figure on the screen. I remember his words clearly, and this was ages ago, like when I was 6.

" 'You have parents, yes? Not any more, no. That stupid mission to stop Team Rocket, a scam. Mr Kinkle, long gone. Now kiddo, my men will be down there in half an hour to pick you up. Do not fear, we will help you get revenge on your parents' death. You go pack a few things and come with me.'

"I suppose you could call it kidnap, I was scared to go but knew that I would be helped. Somehow. Running up to my room I grabbed Bubbles my toy Blastoise, my Psyducks pokeball and my blanket, and some clothes. At the last minute, I remembered the pokeball, and opened it.

"There was a note inside the box with the pokeball. 'Dear Irene,' It read. 'This pokémon will either come out as white energy or black. Black energy means you have had a sudden anger and need for revenge, resulting in the deathly Missingno. But, I am sure you will be side kicked with Foundea, the white energy. Use it well. Love, Mum and Dad.'

"Yeah right. Love." Irene spat. "I grabbed the pokeball, and ran outside, with my bag of stuff. These people in black suits came and picked me up and I found myself in a large white office. The guy who had called me, his name was Shengal. He offered me a new life, to be a part of what they called the Dark Side.

"It was a hidden Team Rocket, one that only Mr Kinkle and my parents knew of. They tried to kill Shengal, which is why he chose me. If I had gone with the Hope Clan, I would have destroyed him.

"But it is my duty to destroy and remove anything that is stopping me from gaining power. Shengal is very pleased with me."

"Irene, you don't' have to listen to him," Byron tried to tell her.

"Houndoom, enough," she commanded, not paying attention to Byron's words. "Missingno, Death Wish."

Missingno flapped his way up into the sky, releasing an emerald green aura that flashed in front of Byron's eyes. Byron passed out, still bleeding.

Recalling Houndoom, Irene nodded to Golduck, who transformed her perfect body and skin into the body of a survivor of a pack of angry dark pokémon. She was bleeding (unpainfuly), and looked as if she had just been ripped to shreds. Golduck psychically made her unconscious, hopped on Missingno and flew off, back to the hotel room with her pokeballs and Byron's, replacing them in his hotel room first.

That was the last they ever saw of Byron. As for Irene…
