Prologue She woke up in a bag, being jostled around fiercely. Her tail and ears were stinging and she could barely breathe. "We've got 'er now!" Laughed someone from in front of her. She yelped at the coldness of the voice, but then she felt lighter. She was…falling?! She screamed, unable to do anything from the inside of the bag. She suddenly was aware of water, and it was close. Rushing water. LOTS of rushing water. Then she heard someone cry, "What's that?!" and then she went under. It must have been a waterfall, she thought softly. Now I must be in a river or something. She tried to think back, but nothing came to mind. Then she started to run out of air. With her weight and being still trapped in the bag, she couldn't get to the surface. "Hey! Is somebody in there?" she heard. "Y-fflubbbuooshh!" She only lost air in trying to speak. She held on, but finally lost her last breath. She let go. Suddenly air flew up from below her, not only allowing her to breath, but pushing her to the top. She felt the bag be dragged to the side of the river and out of the water. Then someone ripped the top of the bag. The girl looked out wearily and saw a Vaporeon. It was looking concernedly at her. "What were you doing in the river? And in a sack at that?! I know extreme sports are 'a;; the rage,' but honestly this is crazy!" The Vaporeon sat gently on her tail. "What's an Eevee like you doing out here? You almost look like the—" "PRINCESS!" a guy yelled from across the river. The tow looked across and saw three burly Umbreon and two captive looking Leafeon coming out from the shelter of the woods. Looking around, the Eevee realized that it was night, and dark. The lights were coming from sparkling stones. She looked back at the new pokemon and thought. Did she know them? Where was she? "Princess! You're okay!" one of them called, looking relieved. The Vaporeon stepped forward. "Are you sure this is the princess? I found her thrashing down the river in a burlap sack, drowning." All of the pokemon on the other side of the river looked shocked. The leafeon just looked at each other and smiled, but the umbreon looked terrified. "Princess!!! Are you alright??!!!" Everyone looked at the young Eevee. She was flat out terrified. The Umbreon scared the life out of her, although she didn't know why. While the other pokemon had been speaking, she had been thing, and hard. She didn't now who she was, and she certainly wasn't a princess, she didn't know where she was, and she didn't know why the Umbreon wanted her. She looked down the river and saw…a waterfall! There was a waterfall that she had fallen down! She looked the other way, and the river stopped after a while. It fell out into another waterfall. The Umbreon that wasn't holding a Leafeon in its mouth started across the river. The Eevee decided to act. Throwing herself into the river, she promptly paddled downstream. The waterfall got all the closer. The Vaporeon tried to catch up, but as she got to the edge, the Eevee was nowhere to be seen. She turned back to the Umbreon, helped him out of the river, and sighed. "She's dead. There's no way she survived that with no help, and nobody was down there. She's dead. The princess is dead." The Umbreon were forced to follow orders, and after taking the Leafeon to the jail, they had to bring news to the king and queen. The king was a massive Umbreon himself, with glowing golden rings. His queen was a gentle and beautiful Espeon. The guard Umbreon bowed low at their thrones, and addressed them both at once. "King, Queen, I bring terrible news of Princess Ellie. She…she fell down a waterfall…and died." The queen cried out and started bawling, "My baby! My beautiful little baby is gone!!" The king simply stared at the ground. "We'll look around Eevee Mountain. She could have been underwater and just not come up yet. Call up Galvan; isn't he the one betrothed to her? Yes? Good. Well, the Festival of Mew starts in a few days. We won't give up." The king and queen started to mourn after two weeks of searching were unsuccessful. What the royal family didn't know was that their young princess was already going by a new name and a new identity. She was alive, and thriving.
