Disclaimer: Well here I am again, ready to start a whole new fic about Ash and Misty. So far I've written "New Beginnings" and "This Pichu is Different" both AAMRN's. I don't own Pokémon as you know, but I do own all of my fics. Also, if you haven't read my story "New Beginnings" then you should know that there is a brand new region, the Ohnee region that Ash and Misty traveled to in "New Beginnings". This story was written in May 2004.

Ring ring ring, ring ring ring. Phone call, phone call!

Ring ring ring, ring ring ring. Phone call, phone call!

Giovanni, the Team Rocket boss, was sitting at his desk stroking his Persian when his private-line phone rang. Giovanni picked up the phone and asked,

"What is it?"

"Uh, hello boss, it's just us again, sir, Jessie and James," Jessie said into the pay-phone.

"Don't forget about Meowth!" Meowth yelled into the phone as well.

"Why are you three bumbling idiots calling me on my private line? Have you actually done your job this time?"

"Well, um, sir, we haven't caught that Pikachu yet, but I'm sure that we are close," James said into the phone, scared of what Giovanni would say.

"Where are you calling me from?"

"Uh, well, we arrived in the Ohnee region today and we just thought..." Jessie started.

"And you thought that you could call me even though you haven't been able to catch that Pikachu in five years! You three are absolutly worthless. The only reason that you are still in Team Rocket is because you owe me so much money!"

"We are so close sir, just give us some more time. We'll catch that pesky Pikachu if it's the last thing we ever do! And just think of what it'll be like when you evolve it into a Raichu with a Thunder Stone. It'll be your most powerful electric type," Meowth said trying to get on the boss's good side.

Grrr "I'll tell you what. If you don't do something to catch that Pikachu or at that any Pokémon in the next few days and get it to me before the end of this week, then I'll just send some grunts over to James' mansion and get the money I need from there."

"No, please sir, don't take the money from my parents. They have nothing to do with this. It's our problem. We'll get the money you need and we'll come back with a Pokémon worthy of Team Rocket," James said trying to change the boss's mind.

"Just get me this rare and powerful Pikachu you keep on talking about and I'll leave your parents alone. But I don't care what you have to do to get it, or any other Pokémon. Do anything you have to do, or don't even bother on calling me ever again!" Giovanni yelled. He then slammed the phone down so hard that Persian flinched at the loud sound.

"Anything?" Jessie, James and Meowth all asked at the same time.

Today, we join Ash, Misty and Pikachu on their way to the nearest town in the Ohnee region so Ash can challenge the gym leader there and win his first Ohnee league badge. Also, a few days ago, while on their way to the Ohnee region, Ash and Misty confessed their love to each other and are now boyfriend and girlfriend.

"Ash, when's the last time I said that I love you," Misty said with her arms wrapped around Ash's left arm as they were walking to Tempest City, the nearest city with a Pokémon gym.

"Uh, I think that it was about five minutes ago, but I never get tired of hearing you say it," Ash replied looking at Misty, staring at her bight eyes that were the color of the sea.

"Well I don't care, I love you Ash, and I'll never leave you in my whole life."

"I love you too, Misty, with all my heart. I swear I'll be with you forever and ever." Meanwhile Pikachu was walking behind them with a smile on its yellow face. Pikachu was thinking,

'What took them so long?'

"Come on James, we have to do this. This is the only way," Jessie said to him.

"I know, I just wish it wouldn't come to this," James replied as he, Jessie and Meowth were all up in the balloon high above Ash, Misty and Pikachu. Team Rocket was behind them, so Ash and co. didn't notice them.

"We gotta do what we gotta do, Jimmy," Meowth said.

"I hope we stay together forever, Ash. I love you."

"And I never get tired of you saying that because I love you too."

"Lets do it," Meowth said and then pushed a big red button on a remote control that had an anntena sticking out of it. Immediatly, two robotic arms with rubber hands came out of the bottem of the balloon basket and headed straight for Misty and Pikachu. The two arms grabbed hold of them and started to pull them up. Team Rocket took them by complete surprize.

"Ash! Help me!" Misty screamed as she was brought up to the balloon.

"Pika, pi! Piiiiii kaaaaaaa chuuuuuuuuu!" Pikachu yelled as it tried a Thunderbolt attack but nothing happened.

"Hahahahaha! Your Thunderbolts won't work this time, Pikachu. That hand has a rubber coating."

"Misty! Team Rocket you let her go right now!" Ash yelled up to them.

"Not so fast, twerp. First we would like to play a little game," Jessie said.

"A game?! Playing with our lives is a game?!" Ash yelled.

"Yes, it is. But the game is just about to end," Meowth said.

"What do you mean? Are you gonna stop bothering us from now on?" Ash asked.

"Yes, after today we will never bother you again. We promise," Jessie said with her fingers crossed behind her back.

"Well I don't believe you! Now let Misty and Pikachu go!"

"Not yet, first, if you try to use any of your other Pokémon, we'll kill your girlfriend, Misty!" Jessie yelled down to Ash.

"You wouldn't," Ash said in disbelief.

"Try me, twerp. Both of these robot arms have explosives in their hands. If you try anything with your Pokémon, we will detonate Misty's explosives and you'll never see her again," Jessie said.

"Why are you doing this?! You never did anything like this before," Ash said.

"We had no choice. The boss told us to do anything to get your Pikachu, and this was the last resort," James said.

"You don't have to kill them!" Ash yelled.

"We don't really have any reason to kill them, but if you make us, we won't hesitate to do it," Jessie said.

"Fine, then what do you want?" Ash asked.

"Like I said, we are gonna play a little game, twerp," Jessie said.

"What kind of a game?" Ash asked.

"Just shut up and listen. Ash Ketchum, you will have to make a choice. If you choose Misty, then we will detonate Pikachu's explosives and it will die. Or, if you choose Pikachu, then we will detonate Misty's explosives and she will die. You have one minute to decide," Jessie said.

"How am I supposed to choose between the person I love and my best friend?" Ash asked.

"Fifty-five seconds, twerp. Time is ticking. And if you don't decide by then, then we will just kill them both, so you have to choose one or see them both die," Jessie said.

'I don't know what to do. I can't choose one, because then I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did choose. But if I don't choose then they are both going to die, and that would be much worse,' Ash thought to himself. This was a very hard decision for him to make.

"Thirty seconds twerp. Better hurry up," Jessie said.

"Just hold on, I'm thinking, but I can't choose either of them. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did," Ash said. Misty and Pikachu didn't know what he was going to do. They were so worried what he might do.

"Come on twerp, only fifteen seconds left," Jessie said.

"Wait! I got it! Team Rocket, I don't have two choices here, I have only one," Ash said.

"What are you talking about?" Jessie said.

"I'll make you a deal Team Rocket. If you let Misty and Pikachu go, then you can kill me, but after you do, then you will have to leave and never bother Misty, Pikachu, or any one else that I know ever again! Do we have a deal?"

"Ash, no! I'm not gonna just wait here and see you die!" Misty screamed trying to get out of the robotic arm, but it was too tight.

"Pika Pikachu! Pi ka chu pika chu! Piiiiii kaaaaa chuuuuuu!" Pikachu tried again, this time a Thunder attack, but again it didn't work. Pikachu kept on trying but it was absolutly no use.

"And I can't just stand here and watch you two die. So do we have a deal Team Rocket?" Ash asked them.

"Deal twerp," and then Jessie pulled out a gun, cocked it, and pointed it down at Ash.

"I love you, Misty. More than you'll ever know," Ash said to her.

"Ash, I love you too. I can't see you die right in front of me," Misty said hysterically with tears pouring out of her eyes and down her cheeks. Pikachu was also crying because it knew that its best friend was about to die.

"Are you sure you have to do this Jess?" James asked her.

"This must be done James, there is no other choice. Goodbye Ash Ketchum, I guess you never got to be a Pokémon Master!" Jessie said.

"Goodbye Misty," Ash said quietly.

Right before Jessie pulled the trigger, Ash had seen his life before his eyes. All that he had done and all the people he met along his way through all of the regions were shown to him. And the last vision that he saw was Misty and himself kissing passionatly on the ship they took to get to Ohnee.

Jessie pulled the trigger and there was a very loud bang which followed with a re-coil by the gun on Jessie's arm. Jessie then lowered her arm down to her side, still holding the gun firmly in her right hand.

Some Pidgey flew out of a nearby tree when they heard the sound and began to fly off into the horizon.

"Ash! No!!" Misty screamed at the top of her lungs. She couldn't believe what she had just seen.

"Pika! chu!! it yelled still able to do nothing.

Ash felt the bullet pass right through his chest and right out of his back. He looked down and saw that it had went through his right lung, and it had completely missed his heart, but he knew that he was going to die.

The pain was incredible, so much so that Ash immediatly collapsed onto the dirt road. They were in the middle of no where, so the only other witnesses around were the Pokémon that had witnessed this act of murder.

Meowth then took out the remote control and pressed a large green button this time which sent the robotic arms down to the ground where Ash was and then they let Misty and Pikachu go, who immediatly ran over to Ash to see if they could do anything to save him. But there was nothing. Ash needed a hospital now, or he was going to die.

Misty just crouched down and bent over Ash's head. Her tears were like waterfalls and they were dripping all over Ash's face. He was still alive for the moment, and his eyes were closed. Pikachu was on the other side of Ash's head crying even more than Misty.

"Ash, don't leave me. You're not going to die. Not here. Not today. We just got together after all this time. You can't die. I love you Ash!"

Ash opened his eyes and saw a crying Misty and Pikachu right above him.

"That's it Ash. Everything's gonna be okay. Just you take it easy. It's okay." Misty took Ash's right hand in hers and kissed it lightly.

"Mi...Mist...Misty," Ash barely said, quietly.

"What is it, Ash?"

"Misty, I...I lo..." Ash tried to say as she stroked her cheek with his hand.

"Don't speak Ash. It'll be alright."

"Misty, I love..." Ash said and then he let out his last breath with his eyes still open.

"Ash! Ash! No don't die. I can't live without you. I love you. I love you. Don't leave me!"

"Piiiiii kaaaaaaa chuuuuuuuu!!" Pikachu tried a Thunderbolt but Ash didn't move. Pikachu tried again and again but soon it was out of power and it couldn't shock anymore. Misty had gotten off of Ash just in time to not get shocked by Pikachu.

"Goodbye, Ash. I'll never forget you," Misty said as she closed Ash's eyelids.

"Well this is all touching and sweet, but we still need Pikachu. It was just this way, we knew we could get rid of Ash because he always tries to save Pokémon by sacrificing himself," Jessie said.

"Yeah, come to Meowth, Pikachu," Meowth said and then pushed the red button again and now just one of the robotic arms rushed towards Pikachu.

"Oh no ya don't. Politoad go!!" Misty yelled as she threw a Pokéball. Politoad emerged and starting clapping its hands together.

"Poiltoad use Water Gun on that robotic arm!" Politoad shot out a great blast of water and cut the arm in two. "That's great Politoad, now use Bubblebeam on that balloon!" Politoad shot out light-blue bubbles towards the Meowth shapped balloon. The attack punctured a hole in the balloon and it started to fly away.

"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again! Wobbuffet! Ding

"Thanks Politoad, return," Misty said and then a red energy beam hit Politoad and it was sucked back into its Pokéball.

Misty looked down at Ash and immediatly started crying again.

Pikachu was near Ash's head, doing the same thing.

The End.

I don't have much to say at this point except I thought that this was a good story to write. Although it was hard because I usually don't write sad-fics because they are so depressing. This probably isn't the best sad-fic that you've ever read, but I hope that it made an impact in your life. Please review this story. Gotta Catch Ya Later! Misty101803 signing off.
