Misty sat, staring into the flickering fire. The flames reflected in her shining aqua eyes, and she breathed in deeply. A chill ran through her body as the wind began to pick up, she wrapped her arms around her, sobbing to herself. She soon sat, her arms around her knee’s, hugging them tightly, with silent tears running down her cheeks, the fire out and Ash asleep. She had told Ash that she was going to bed, but…she had tired to sleep, but when she closed her eyes, the horror that was the truth would come to her mind. She hated the truth. Misty stood up, trying to walk carefully towards the lake they had set camp up near. She tried to not make a sound as she did so, but ended up standing on a twig, and jumping , with a tiny scream. She hobbled the rest of the way, and flopped onto a rock. Why did she carry on following him all this way? For a bike, no, for him…yes. She didn’t want a bike from him, she wanted him, his heart, his love, all that he could give her. Im so stupid to think he’ll ever love me, she repeatedly told herself, more tears escaping and dropping onto her love heart pyjamas. She sat, upon the boulder (rock) with her arms wrapped around herself again, and clenched onto her stomach as the pain and worry overcame her. Why did love hurt this much? Ash’s eyes opened as soon as he heard something outside. He turned on his side, expecting to see Misty asleep in her sleeping bag, expecting to see a angel laying near him. But she wasn’t there, maybe she was still outside…maybe someone had took her! Maybe she had….Ash stopped thinking all the painful thoughts and asked him self ‘why am I jumping to conclusion? And why am I so jumpy about her?’. It was true, lately, if misty wasn’t in sight, he would start worrying and searching for her, as if he didn’t want to let go of her. He crawled up and out of his sleeping bag, and out of the tent, to see no one. His heart raced at the thought of Misty being somewhere alone, somewhere unprotected, with out his help. He then heard it, not laughter, not happiness, but sobs. He followed the sound of them to a lake. Where he saw one of the most painful sights in his life, Misty sitting, crying and shaking. Ash stepped forwards, not knowing what else to do….he walked behind her, and wrapped his arms around his best friend. He loved the thought of having her, in his arms. Misty looked up, to see the handsome boy she had forever loved, wrapping his arms around her neck, she felt a rush run through her body, but relaxed backwards into his arms. She loved the feeling, of being in his arms. Ash took his time to kneel down next to her, wiping the tears from her cheeks with his half finger gloved hand. His arm was around her waist now, as she cried more. He couldn’t bare to see her like this. “Misty…what wrong?” He asked, being careful not to rush things. “Im…im ok..” she replied. Looking away “Your not.” Misty then trembled forwards, and into his arms, where she cried into his chest and hung onto him. “Please Ash…never leave me... please never leave me…please…p-pleaasee…” she sobbed, holding onto him. Ash was slightly taken back, not at the fact she was hugging him, but the fact that she had thought that HE would leave her. He thought that she would leave him, not the other way around, and before he could help it, he started to run his hands through her hair. “I will never leave you misty. I swear, on my life, and yours, that I will never, ever leave you, You’re my best friend. Best friends don’t leave each other.” He then leant down and kissed her on the forehead, wiping her tears away again. Misty smiled up at him with big eyes. “Thank you….” She whispered, leaning into his shirt again. She was trying to force herself not to ask him the question she did, but she couldn’t help it, the words escaped her mouth faster than she could control them “Ash, do you think im pretty?” She asked. Stunned, Ash almost let go of her, but managed to keep his grip around her. He thought the last question was silly, but this was EXTREMELY silly. He sighed and looked down to her, so this is what she had been thinking about so much lately? This is why she hadn’t looked at him so much…and this is why she hadn’t been hungry, huh? Misty waited for his reply, and then she noticed why he wasn’t, because he didn’t want to tell her she wasn’t pretty, and that he thought she was ugly. She cried at the thought of loosing him after one question. “Look, Ash, if you don’t think so then just say so…please just tell me what you think of me!” Misty cried Ash gazed at her, he then knelt so he was eye to eye level with her, he smiled slightly. “You want to know?” He whispered into her ear “Ye-“ she was cut off “Misty Waterflower, I think you are the most beautiful girl on this planet. I think that if anyone ever, ever told you that you weren’t pretty, then they must have been blind. I think that you deserve the best, I think you deserve more than me for a best friend, and I think that who ever you fall in love with, will be the luckiest guy on Earth. And I think that if they ever hurt you, they’d have me to answer too.” Ash finished, with some tears falling from his own eyes, at the thought of her falling in love with someone…anyone but him. What Misty did next was unexpected, she couldn’t help her self…what he had just said was so sweet, so before she knew it, she was leaning towards him, and kissing her lips against his. And what was even more surprising, was…he returned the kiss. They knelt, wrapped in each other, KISSING, and enjoying every moment of it. “I love you…” Ash whispered to her, as they broke away. “ And if anyone ever hurts you, they’ll have me to answer to Mist.” “I love you Ash…promise me you’ll never leave?” she whispered, as she leant in to kiss him again, “I promise…” and with that he leant forwards and kissed her deeply.
