And here starts the slightly longer chapters because I was writing for fun, and not just to force myself to get here! =P CHAPTER 6 “NEVER touch that package.” May was lecturing Ash on her private things. “It’s a long and very personal story…” “I can keep it secret!” Ash loved getting secrets from people. He was good at it too. But not this time. “I won’t tell anyone about THAT! Period!” “Oh fine…” Satoshi was let down a bit; he thought he was one of May’s best friends. ‘Oh well, there are more secrets where that came from.’ * * * Bananas live in England… Extreme Makeover: Bikini Edition… Terror in I rock… Abnormal nose scar formations… “Huh?” All of a sudden, Kasumi’s memories came back to her: the smoke, the fire, the trail, the clearing, and now… this. The redhead wasn’t in a very good position; in midair her bike had clung to a twig and had snapped off after she fell deeper. It was pinning down one of her arms, and the other one was twisted behind her back. Misty looked up and saw the dim sky continue to darken. She checked her watch but it was broken. The situation seemed pretty hopeless. But Misty had hope on her side. She needed to tell Ash the truth… about her crush on him. ‘Oh, crap. I didn’t bring my pokeballs because I left most of them back in Kanto, and Starmie and Manectric are still healing at the pokemon center… Gah! What am I going to do???’ Kasumi knew she had to save her bike because a, there was no possible way she could get back to the pokecenter before curfew without it, and b, her family had recently been losing money and a new bike would just be too much. [A/N: Well, unless she could get Ash to buy her one. =P] * * * Haruka was happy. Misty must be dead. The brunette hadn’t heard of that coward since she ran at the fire. Still, there was a possibility. Someone had tripped the cave alarm. Someone had found the fork in the road. And now she had a nice present in case a certain someone had happened to do just that… * * * Somehow Misty had managed to get her arm out from behind her back, and she only had to deal with her right one now. She heard rushing water at the bottom of the cavern and her eyes opened wide. ‘If I don’t get out of here now, I’m as good as drowned!’ * * * Now in her Secret Base [A/N: one of her many, actually] , May Birch checked her camera displays. The Phase One hole had been revealed. ‘Crud. I’ll have to disguise it again!’ In Phase Two, there was… Kasumi! And the water had auto-flushed! “All is going as planned. Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” The evil girl left her fortress, on the way clicking an ‘express flush’ button on one of her laptops. * * * “Have you seen May?” Ash asked his mother. “She left an hour ago. Something to do with ‘unfinished business’,” she replied. “Any idea what?” he questioned. “Your guess is as good as mine,” she responded semi-solemnly. “Well I ought to go look for her,” he stated. “I want both of you back by 6:00 sharp, do you hear me?” “Yes, Mom!” Ash rolled his eyes and stepped out the door. * * * Misty was digging. Well, she had been until a couple seconds before. She had been building a pit for her bike. It fell right in perfectly and Misty got up and dusted herself off. ‘Freedom,’ she thought. The almost-free trainer took an ascension gun out of her bike pocket and shot it at the roof of the cave. She tied her feet to the pedals on her bike and held on to the ascension gun for dear life. The mechanism pulled the leader and her bike up and out of the hole just in the nick of time. Moments later, and she would’ve drowned. * * * It was dark now, and Kasumi had to use a flashlight to be sure that she didn’t cut her feet with the scissors she was using to unbind them. Then she really started to worry. The path through the woods from which she had come previously had been blocked by a huge rockslide, forcing her to choose an alternative. She chose the north path, but she might’ve chosen differently if she had known her current route would lead to terrible disaster. * * * R&R and please do, I've still only got two reviewers!
