THE GAME CHAPTER SIX A FIELD OF NIGHTMARES The sky had dimmed to a totally dark gray. Rai sang quietly as they were heading through the tall grassy fields towards Wanonee Mountain. Rai's thoughts about Korey had changed pretty quickly. He was just another fan, looking at a hot girl. Rai was lucky, she was riding on Rapidash, so less of the grass got in her face while she was trudging through the field. A clearing was strategically made by other team members a few miles ahead, about half way to the mountain, providing they got that far. It was getting darker by the moment. Rai wasn't a big fan of US pop, but she was singing anyway. "Isn't she lucky? This Hollywood girl... She is so lucky but why does she cry? If there is nothing missing in her life why do tears come at night? She's so lucky, she's a star..." "Britney Spears initials stand for Bull Shit!" Kerry snapped. "Who told you THAT?" Rai looked down at Kerry. "I made it up." Kerry gave a flashy grin. Rai shook her head. "Yo listen up here's a story about a little guy that lives in a blue world, and all day and all night and everything he sees is just blue like him, inside and outside... blue his house with a blue little window and a blue corvette..." "Corvette?" Korey snapped his head up. Rai began laughing and decided to give up on singing. Wild Pokemon didn't seem to be a problem so far, but no one could safely make assumptions about anything. Not now, not ever. ********** Kerry walked along the grass with Furret slowly, trying to keep up with Rai and her Rapidash. "Look, guys." Rai started. "I'm taking Rapidash up ahead." "You can't do that!" Kerry yelled. "You're supposed to stay with us." "Yes, I can." she turned Rapidash to the right, and began a flat out run for the clearing. She would be there in only thirty minutes. It could take hours for the rest of them, but it wasn't too safe for her to be alone. ********** Rai looked at the scene surrounding her as she stood with Rapidash on what appeared to be a large rock breaking off from a hill. She was roughly fifty feet above the ground. Below, people with lanterns and various Pokemon were wandering through the grass below. It was almost pitch black out. You could only see outlines of things. She looked towards the mountain. Even on her Rapidash, it would take a week to get to the bottom, another to get up. From there, they would have only a few days to defeat him, and stop the eclipse that would allow him to destroy the planet. Rai looked forward at the full moon. "You. The one who is under that black Hell Cloud. Talk to me, tell me your purpose of your intentions. What do you want with my planet?" MY PURPOSE? MY PURPOSE OF DESTROYING THIS PLANET? YOU DARE EVEN CALL IT A PLANET... YOUR PEOPLE ARE SCUM. MURDER, ADULTERY, CANNIBALISM, SACRELIGE? I AM HERE TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH. TO PLACE MY FLAWLESS RACE HERE, TO BIND THIS PLANET TO MY OWN. "Not all people are scum. We all may sin, which you may find unforgivable. But that is not how we see things here. And I will send you down to Hell, where you and your 'flawless race' belong. There is no perfection." YOU DARE STAND HERE AND PREACH TO ME? ABOUT HOW IMPERFECTION IS PERFECTION, AND HOW MY PERFECT RACE IS ONLY A HOAX? DO YOU KNOW HOW I CONTROL MY PLANET? HOW I CONTROL MY RACE? I CONTROL THEM...WITH FEAR. At that a blast of wind blew Rapidash and it's rider back, slamming them into the wall of the mountain. Both Rai and Rapidash had been knocked out cold. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NOW YOU SEE. MY RACE IS THE CLEAR IMAGE OF PERFECTION, WHILE YOURS IS ONLY THE OPPOSITE OF! A silvery whisper shot back at him. "Perfection lies only in God. Angels from Hell are not to be feared. Not on my planet." IS THAT SO? WELL YOU LITTLE BRAT. SEE IF I CAN BRING FEAR INTO THE HEARTS OF THOSE PEOPLE DOWN THERE IN MY FIELD! MY FIELD OF NIGHTMARES!
