The Path of the Guardian A “General” category By Mr. Highwind Everyone, I am terribly sorry that I have not written in a long time. I’ve been having a busy summer: my 15th birthday, my computer crashing on me (May 21), fixin’ my computer (Finished June 11), my grandpa down from New York to look for a house in Texas, the works! I want everyone to know when you see this in my typing -> “-------------” that means that along time has passed, or that the point of view switches away/back to Sparks. Last time, Sparks caught up with Ash after a huge lightning storm and Spearows came between them. Let’s continue... --------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 7: Team Rocket-The Goofballs are back! “So that’s what was with that lighting bolt. Pretty cool, Ash.” “Yeah, it was a lot for me and pikachu.” Sparks and Ash had reached Viridian City and its Pokecenter, so they were relaxing in the pokecenter’s dining hall while their pikachus gained treatment. “Well, I’m glad that he’s now friends with you.” “I know, it’s so great! That’s a lot of pressure off my back.” “Ok then, next subject: Who is she?” asked Sparks. A girl with orange hair with one ponytail on the side, wearing a yellow shirt and blue short shorts, sat fuming at Ash, and heard that she was being identified. “Hey, What do you mean ‘Who is she’!? You better watch who’re you’re talking about!” she yelled. “And you are?” asked Sparks. “Ya know, you’re a pretty rude kid. You’re gonna get your ass kicked if you keep it up! Anyways, I’m Misty, the girl whose BIKE was STOLEN by this PUNK who’d better PAY UP!” she yelled, increasing her voice for every important word. “Right, we’ll talk about later, but right now, I’m thirsty for some tea, so keep quiet for now,” finished up Sparks. Misty was even angrier at Sparks than she was with Ash, but kept quiet and fumed at both of them. “So anyways-,” but then Sparks stopped himself as he saw smoke from under the medicine door. “Is that a fire!?” asked Ash, turning around to see what Sparks stared at. “No, it smells different,” replied Sparks. “We should help,” started Misty, but the boys were already up and over to the door. She quickly followed. As they opened the door, strange smog flew out, blocking their vision. Sparks knew this was not a fire. “Who’s there?” Then two figures appeared through and started out: “To protect the world from devastation.” “To unite all peoples within their nation.” “To denounce to evils of truth and love.” “To extend our reach to the stars above-.” “Jessie? James?” asked Sparks, recognizing the voices. “Wha!?” All three got surprised as they laid eyes on Sparks. “Hello again!” said Sparks. “Oh, not you again!” groaned Jessie. “Uh, you know these guys, Sparks?” asked Ash. “Long story, Ash.” “You’s a gonna pay fo’ wad’ you did to’ me layst time!” started Meowth. Sparks pulled out his dagger slowly for Meowth to see. “Eeek!” Meowth ran behind James’ leg and hid there. “So, now you’ve got a pokemon for us to steal?” asked James. “Yeah, if you CAN steal it from me, which I’ll make sure it’s a challenge. He’s not here right now, though. My Pikachu’s resting from good training, but I can take you guys on my-.” “Misty calls Staryu!” She pulled out a pokeball and threw it out. A beam of red light came, producing a Staryu. “Slow down a moment!” yelled Sparks. “I’m done talking. Staryu! Tackle the Koffing!” The Staryu obeyed, taking down the Koffing, which ricocheted off a wall and crashing into Sparks and Ash. “Ouff!” called out the boys as they both got knocked unconscious. “Oops, heheh, sorry.” Said Misty. Jessie laughed, saying, “This is easier than I thought it would be. Ekans, come out!” A beam of light came from her pokeball and produced an Ekans. “EKAANSSSS!” cried the snake-like pokemon. “Go, scare the girl for a while.” Ekans chased Misty around the room. “EKAANSSSS!!!” “AAHH! I hate snakes! Almost as much as I hate bugs!” Misty was hopeless, as the three ran to go steal pokemon. ------------------------------------------------------------- “Heeheeheeheeeeee!” snickered Team Rocket as all the sleeping pokemon recovered from their mishaps and fatigue. “This IS the easiest snag yet,” said James. “Tha’ boss’ll be vewry happy wit’ us,” said Meowth. “Hey, let’s steal that pikachu Sparks was talking about,” said Jessie. “He’ll be very angry, and I love ticking people off.” So the three looked around. Nurse Joy ran into the three. “What are you three doing back here!? Don’t you know that there are sick pokemon who need sleep?” Jessie walked up and said, “That’s exactly why we’re here: To steal them! Now back up! We’ve got guns!!” At the mention of weapons, Nurse Joy fled. James, however, was confused. “Do we have weapons Jessie?” “No you idiot! That was to scare her off. Now look for that Pikachu!” They did not know how the infirmary worked so they aimlessly looked in every room. However, the rooms were alphabetized according to the pokemon name, but they failed to notice and later on caught up to “P”. “Damn, this took too long!” complained James. “We should’ve just grabbed as many as we could and scram!” “Just shut up, James! Look,” said Jessie. She pointed to a pikachu resting. “There’s our catch,” she whispered. “Let’s bag ‘em.” Like I said, they didn’t know how the rooms worked, so they figured that was the only pikachu, but in the other side of the room, Sparks’ Pikachu was coming to. “Pika?” He looked around the room looking for anyone familiar. He found Ash’s Pikachu, with a red light bulb to indicate how much electricity was within the pokemon. According to the bulb, there wasn’t a lot. Then Pikachu’s ears perked up. He turned to see two people and a Meowth trying to steal another pikachu in the room. “Pika!” He leaped onto the other table to protect the other pikachu. “Huh?” all three of Team Rocket exclaimed. Sparks’ Pikachu kept glaring at the three, threatening them with sparks from its cheeks. “Well, well,” started Jessie. “It looks like we have a little hero in our way.” James smiled, “We know how to deal with little heroes like this one. Meowth, why don’t you give our friend here a hand?” “Wit’ pleasure!” said Meowth, leaping at the pikachu with all claws extended. Pikachu smiled at the weak attempt, and gave a weak attack back. A little surge extended from the pikachu onto the feline in the air. “AAAHHEEEOOAA!” shouted Meowth, feeling the electricity scorch his fur. The shouting woke up other pikachu, becoming aware of the situation. “Where the hell did these buggers come from?” asked James. Then a bright red light glowed. It was Ash’s pikachu, charging up a big one. The other pikachu gathered around it, along with Sparks’ Pikachu. The red bulb got brighter & brighter. Jessie looked at the sign at the front of the door, showing a “P” next to a picture of a pikachu. She put two & two together, and came up with a solution: “Oh shit.” ------------------------------------------------------------- “Oohhhh..ouch..” Sparks was coming to. The first thing he saw was the face of an unconscious Koffing and Ash right under it. “Oh yeah,” thought Sparks. “Where the hell is Misty!? She has to learn when to attack and when not to.” As if it was an answer to his thought, Misty came running past screaming her head off, with an Ekans following behind. “Heh, I guess she DID learn her lesson. Hm?” Sparks looked up to see that the lights were getting brighter. And electricity was dancing off of them too. Sparks thought this as danger and reacted quickly. He turned to see Ash waking up, pushing the Koffing off of him. “Ash, c’mon! I think we should go.” A bang came from one of the lights as it exploded from a power surge. Sparks looked down to the hallway to find the “P” section getting brighter. “Oh boy! Get going!!” “AAHHH!” “EKAANSSS!!!” The pokemon had misty trapped in a corner, scared as a mouse. Ekans leaped as Misty screamed. Sparks jumped out and kicked the pokemon away. Misty opened her eyes to find Sparks grabbing here hand and tugging her away. “Um, thanks?” “Time to go!!” Ash slowed down. “But what about our pikachus?” “Oh, they’ll be fine, cause.. They’re the cause of this!!!” Sparks grabbed Ash by the collar and dragged the two out of the building. As they got 10 yards away, the building exploded from the surge of pikachus. Shooting from the smoke was Team Rocket, shouting, “Team Rocket’s blasting awaaay!” Thankfully, Nurse Joy called the police, who was there already coming up on the road. A poster from inside the building flew down on top of Sparks. He pulled it off and read: ATTENTION ALL TRAINERS! Pewter City has opened its gym as in response to the beginning of the upcoming tournament at the end of this year. Other gyms are in the process of opening their gyms as well: Hurry up! “Ash, after we find our pikachus, get ready for the first badge, cause it’s ready for everyone else.” ---------------------------------------------------------- End of Chapter 7 See ya later Team Rocket... send a review to spat1@sbcglobal.net
