To Be A Master…A Legend
Chapter 3- "Bulba Bananza"

Bobby And Lilly have just arrived in Viridian Forest and the forest is
filled with all sorts of bug Pokemon. Bobby and his new Pokemon,
Vulpix are exitied to see all the Pokemon and are ready to catch some
new ones, but that will not happen.

"OK Vulpix, you should be able to easily defeat these bu…" Bobby says
but is interupted by a high ptched scream from Lilly
All the bug Pokemon run off scared.
"Why did you do that?" Bobby complains, holding his ears.
"Vulpix vul vul" Vulpix whins.
"I cant help it……I hate bugs." Lilly says.
There is a loud thud several feet away.
"What was that?" Lilly asks Bobby.
"I dont know……lets go find out." Bobby says, making his way over to
some bushes.
Bobby pulls back a branch, and there on the ground, covering their
ears, are Greg and Sandshrew.
"GREG!" Bobby yells "What are you doing here?"
Greg and Sandshrew stand up and dust theirselves off."Well, I was
trying to get a Weedle when a banshee cry scared it off and made
Sandshrew and I fall out of the tree we were in." Greg
explains."Shreeew." Greg's Sandshrew whins, rubbing its behind.
"Well I'm sorry, but I think you deserved it…after the way you treated
Bobby back in Laneve." Lilly states.
Greg just looks at her for a moment.
"Why do you care…do you like this guy or something?" Greg asks.
"W…well……I…um…that is……" Lilly blushes.
"It doesn't matter. What does, is that I didn't get that Weedle. And
as far has I'm concerned, one of you will pay in a Pokemon battle."
Greg snaps.
"Then you got yourself a fight Greg." Bobby snaps back.

Bobby and Greg have taken their places in a makeshift battle ring they
had made.
"I noticed you got yourself a Vulpix. Lets see how good it is." Greg
says.
"You will see just how good this Vulpix is." Bobby comments
arrogantly.
"Right……this is a two on two battle." Greg states.
"Fine then……GO VULPIX!" Bobby yells.
Greg takes a Pokeball off his belt and tosses it out.
"POKEBALL GO!" Greg shouts.
But before the ball makes it to the ground, a group of Bulbasaur run
by, knocking the ball back to Greg.
"What the…" Lilly begins, but is cut off has two guys run by. But they
are going too fast to see who they are.
"Who were they?" Bobby questions.
"I dont know, but it looks like they were trying to hurt those
Bulbasaur. I gotta stop them." Grag says has he runs after the two
people.
"I"M COMING TOO!" Lilly yells, running past Bobby.
After several moments, Bobby chases after Greg and Lilly.

The group of Bulbasaur stop suddenly has they come to a dead end. The
two people who are chasing them are there seconds after. One of them
has a standard Pokemaniac type outfit on and the other looks just like
a Cool Trainer.
"We finally got them." The familiae voice of the 'Pokemaniac' says.
Suddenly, both guys are tackled from behind by Greg.
"Who gave you two permission to chase those Bulbasaur in that manner?"
She questions angerly.
"We were just trying to catch em." The 'Cool Trainer' whins.
"Yeah right……you're probably undercover members of Team Rocket." Greg
accuses.
"No we're not…honest." the 'Pokemaniac' whins.
Greg winds up to punch the 'Cool Trainer' when Bobby and Lilly show
up. Bobby istantly recignises the 'Pokemaniac'.
"NO…GREG…STOP!" Bobby shouts, rushing up and grabing Greg's hand.
Greg jumps up and gets in Bobby's face but cools himself down and
backs off.
"And why should I not pumble these two for cruelity to Pokemon?" Greg
question.
Bobby points at the 'Pokemaniac'. "Because thats my brother."
Dex gets up and dusts himself off then helps up the 'Cool Trainer'.
Bobby turns his younger brother around and grabs him by the collar.
"Why were you chasing those Bulbasaur like that?" Bobby asks his
brother in an angery tone.
"Beause one of them took my walet." Dex says.
"Bulba" the Bulbasaur closest to Bobby and Dex says, holding up a
brown wallet and smirking.
Bobby lets go of his brother. Dex walks over to the Bulbasaur and
snatches his wallet away from it. The Bulbasaur frowns at Dex.
Suddenly, smoke begins to fill the air.
"Whats..cough..happening." Dex asks.
"I think I know…cough cough…and you won't like it." Bobby says.
"Prepare for disaster." A familiar female voice says.
"And to meet your master." A familiar male voice follows.
"To infest the Earth with Inihillation."
"To steal all Pokemon within this nation."
"To destroy the evils of Truth and love."
To make ourselves known in the stars above."
The smoke clears and the two members of Team Rocket stand there with
their backs towards one another and their arms crossed.
"Jill"
"Ma…" Matt stops the "poem" and looks at Greg in suprise.
"GREG……LIL BRO……WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!" Matt exclaims stunned.
"And what are you doing in Team Rocket?" Greg asks.
Everyone looks at Greg a little confused.
"He's your brother?" Lilly asks Greg.
"Sadly yes. He ran away several months ago though. I thought he would
join Team Rocket." Greg explains.
"Matt, you can have a family reunion later…right now we still Pokemon
for the boss." Meowth Jr say, walking up behind Matt and Jill.
"And since Greg is my brother, he keeps his Pokemon." Matt tells his
fellow TR members.
"Listen big bro, I won't let you steal any Pokemon while I'm around.
Sandshrew here will make sure of that." Greg says, patting his
Sandshrew on the head.
This whole time, the group of Bulbasaur had been watching in amusment.
One of the Bulbasaur chuckled which caught Jill's attention.
"And while we're here, lets get those Bulbasaur too." Jill says,
pointing at the Bulbasaurs.
"I dont think so." The 'Cooltrainer' announces, bringing all the
attention to him.
"And who are you?" Matt asks.
"The names Barry Waltson." Barry says, pulling a Pokeball of his belt.
"And if you want them Bulbasaur, you're in for one heck of a battle."
Barry tosses out the Pokeball. from it, a horse with a fire mane pops
out. Bobby pulls out his PokeDex and scans the horse.
"Ponyta…the flame horse Pokemon. Its holves are has hard as diamonds
and can crush rock with ease. It only lets people it trusts ride it,
if it doesn't trust a person who mounts it, the person will get
burned." The PokeDex explains.
Bobby looks up to see that Greg's Sandshrew, Lilly's Oddish, Dex's
Pokemon, a Venonat, and Team Rocket's Zubat, Machop, and Meowth Jr are
standing, ready to battle.
"Hey Bobby, we can take a break. I think we can handle this battle."
Lilly says.
"And besides, you would screw up and lose it for us." Greg insults.
Bobby just sits at a near by tree and watches the battle. Vulpix lies
down next to Bobby.

"Venonat, use Stun Spore on that Meowth." Dex commands.
Venonat lets lose a greenish powder towards Meowth Jr. But he dodges
the powder. Meowth Jr leeps towards Venonot.
"Its Meowth Junior kid. And dont you forget it." Meowth Jr yells has
he uses Fury Swipes, making Venonat faint.
"VENONAT!" Dex shouts, running to his Pokemon and picking it up. "You
stinking cat, you hurt my Pokemon!"
"Then maybe you should train it better." Meowth says sarcastically.
Sandshrew tackles Meowth Jr from behind. This leaves Dex, holding his
unconscious Pokemon in his hands.

Ponyta spins in circles, sending embers of fire at Machop, who covers
his face up with his muscular arms.
"Machop, show that horse just how strong you are. Use Seismic Toss."
Matt commands.
Machop runs up to Ponyta and grabs its leg. Machop then spins around
in a circle. After gaining enough speed, Machop lets go of Ponyta's
leg. It flies over its trainers head and hits a nearby rock.
"PONYTA……are you alright?" Barry asks.
Ponyta slowly gets up. It neighs in anger and runs at Matt's Machop.
"Good idea Ponyta. Get it with Stomp." Barry says.
Ponyta tramples over Machop, knocking him down, but not out. Somehow,
Machop is able it cling on to Ponyta's hind leg. Matt thinks for a
moments than gets an idea.
"Machop, use Low Kick to knock that Ponyta off balance." Matt
commands.
Machop uses Low Kick, triping up Ponyta, who falls face-first to the
ground. Ponyta slides several feet and rams into Oddish, who was
fighting Zubat rather well. The impact knocks both Ponyta and Oddish
out.
"That worked better than I thought it would." Matt comments to
himself.

"Sandshrew, give that dang cat your Slash attack." Greg yells,
pointing at Meowth Jr.
Meowth Jr is beaten up pretty good. He has numerous scratches al over
his body and his gold charm is scufed up. However, Sandshrew seems to
be in perfect condition. He charges at Meowth Jr with his claws ready
to strike. But blue wall appears out of no where. Sandshrew hits the
wall hard, but is able to rebound quickly. When he looks to see the
wall the had stopped him, Sandshrew doesn't see a wall, but Machop
standing infront of him in a fighting stance. Sandshrew too readies to
fight, but he sees something swoop towards him out of the corner of
his eye. Sanshrew moves has Zubat wooshes by. It then begins to hover
at ground level to the left of Sandshrew. Meowth then positions
himself to the right of Sandshrew. Sandshrew looks behind himself for
an escape route, but only sees a large rock.
"Three against one is no fair!" Greg shouts at Matt and Jill.
"Did you forget lil bro, we are Team Rocket. We never fight fair."
Matt says with an evil grin across his face.
Suddenly, something jumps between Sandshrew and his three opponents.
Its Bobby's Vulpix. Machop, Zubat, and Meowth Jr back up a few steps.
Vulpix and Sandshrew each take their fighting stance has do Team
Rocket's Pokemon. But before the battle can begin, a barrage of vines
comes shooting at Team Rocket's Pokemon. The force of the vines sends
the three Pokemon to the feet of their trainers.
"What in th……"
But before Jill can finish her sentence, the group of Bulbasaur, who
had been hiding in the bushes this whole time, charges out of the
brush and towards Team Rocket. TR has no time to react. The whole
group of Bulbasaur collide with TR head on, sending Matt, Jill, and
their Pokemon flying.
"Look like Team Rocket's taking off again!" They all call has they
dissapear into the sky.
"Thanks Bulbasaurs, you saved my best friends." Greg says, picking
Sandshrew up and hugging him. "And thank you Bobby, you're Vulpix was
a good diversion for these Bulbasaur to attack without any resistance
by Team Rocket."
"Hey…my Vulpix could of beaten those three. They did before." Bobby
says, petting Vulpix on the head.
"Thats right Greg. Vulpix is stronger than other Vulpix." Lilly says,
standing behind Bobby with her hands crossed.
"Well……I'm sure it could, but these Bulbasaur are pretty str……" Greg
turns around and looks at the horizon.
"Whats a matter Greg?" Dex asks.
"I hear something." Greg says, still looking into the distance.
After a few moments, some small specks can be seen in the distance.
"What are those?" Lilly questions Greg.
"I think those are……yes…they're Beedrills. And their coming this way
fast."
"Oh great, thats the last thing we need." Bobby says, kicking a small
rock. It rolls to a tree not too fr away, but hidden by several rocks.
The small rock hits a yellow cacoon-like creature.
Greg gets a look of utter fearand begins to shake.
"G…guys look." Bobby says, pointing at the tree, which has dozens of
the yellow creatures in it.
Everyone looks at the tree and gasps in horror.
"KAKUNAS!" Everyone exclaims.
"This must be the Beedrill's nest." Barry states.
"I think we better run for it." Greg says, turning around and running
off.
Everyone follows Greg. The swarm of Beedrills, who had noticed the
group of trespassers, decide to give chase.

"Bobby and the others had been running from the Beedrills for about 5
minutes now.
"We need to find shelter and quick." Dex yells.
Greg spots a small shack.
"There's a shack over there…lets go." Greg tells everyone.
They all run into the shack, followed by the Bulbasaur.
"Is everyone in?" Barry asks.
"I think so." Bobby says.
Suddenly, there everyone hears something outside. They look out a
window and see one of the Bulbasaur got stcuk outside and was now
being surrounded by Beedrills.
"I've got to help that Bulbasaur." Lilly says, running out the door.
"LILLY NO!" Bobby yells.
"Sandshrew, go help her." Greg tells his Pokemon.
Sandshrew runs out the door after Lilly.

Lilly rushes up to the Bulbasaur and picks it up.
"Are you OK Bulbasaur?" Lilly asks the small green plant Pokemon.
It nods its head. Suddenly, all the Beedrills start charging at Lilly
and the Bulbasaur. But before they can reach them, a cloud of smoke
comes out of no where, blinding the Beedrill. Lilly sees that
Sandshrew had just done Sand Attack to stop the oncoming Pokemon.
"Hurry Lilly, get back in here before the Beedrill regain their
sight." Bobby calls from the shed.
Lilly, the Bulbasaur, and Sandshrew run back into the shed just has
the sand settles, allowing the Beedrill to see again. Lilly picks up
Snadshrew and hugs him.
"Thank you Sandshrew…you saved me from the Beedrills." She says with a
tear in her eye.
"So how do we get away from those Beedrill?" Dex questions everyone.
Everyone falls silent. Greg breaks the silence by snapping his
fingers.
"I got it. I can have Sandshrew dig us out of this mess."
"But I didn't think Sandshrews learn Dig without a TM." Barry says,
looking at the ground Pokemon in Lilly's hands.
"Well, my uncle gave me the Dig TM. He has plenty seeing how he runs
the Ground Pokemon Gym in Lugo City." Greg explains.
"Your Uncle's the Lugo City Gym Trainer?" everyone says in unison.
"Yes he is. But thats not important right now. What is, is us getting
away from those Beedrills."
Everyone nods has Sandshrew begins to dig a hole in the floor of the
shed.

==========Later==========

The five kids and the Pokemon stand several feet away from a hole in
the ground. They are brushing themselves off.
"Well, I gotta thank you and your Sandshrew Greg. If it wasn't for
you, we'd all be goners." Bobby says, slaaping Greg on the back.
Greg shoots around and grabs Bobby by the collar.
"Dont EVER……slap me on the back AGAIN……got it?" Greg scolds.
"Y…yes."
"Greg…" Lilly says sternly. "Let him go now."
Greg look at Lilly for a few seconds, then drops Bobby on his but. "I
got to go. The Pewter City Gym is calling me." Greg says has he and
Sandshrew walks off.
"Boy am I glad hes gone." Dex says.
Bobby gets up and brushes off his jeans.
"Hey Dex…" Bobby starts. "How would you and Barry here like to join us
on our journey?"
Dex and Barry think for a few moments.
"Sure." Barry says.
"W could use some companions." Dex adds.
"Guys, we better get going too. I would like to get to Pewter before
night falls." Lilly says, grabbing Bobby by the arm and dragging him
down the road.
Suddenly, something tugs on Lilly's leg. She looks down to see the
Bulbasaur she had saved earlier staring at her.
"Whats wrong Bulbasaur?" Lilly asks.
"I think it wants to be your Pokemon." Barry says.
"Bulba-bulbasaur" te Bulbasaur says, nodding its head.
Llly takes one of her Pokeballs off her belt and tosses it Bulbsaur,
who allows the white beam to suck him into the ball, which promptly
returns to Lilly.
"Alright…I got Bulbasaur." She says, giving a peace sign.

Well, Bobby's brother, Dex and his friend, Barry have joined the group
and Lilly has a new Pokemon. Now its on to Pewter City and the Pewter
Ciy Gym. Does Bobby have what it takes to win a Pokemon League Badge?
