Three of a Kind

Chapter One

An Explosive Flight

A force drifted in the atmosphere. It felt so familiar. I couldn’t quite figure out what is was, or how it was even here. Yet I remember it. Somehow…somewhere…

---

My name is Walter Moran, a 16 year old boy from a small town of Lumeria. I have lived here my entire life. Lumeria is one of many towns on the island of Koreno, which is very close to the land of Johto. I’ve always wanted to venture off into the open, creating new memories and fulfilling my dreams. However, this idea is hard to accomplish when our men are at war.

The Lucrid War. Those three words make my spine shiver with indignity. A civil war on an island between Lumeria and the town of Lucrid. No one honestly has the knowledge of how such a war began. The hatred, chaos, and destruction that it has brought, sadly, has been glued to every normal mind on Koreno.

On my spare time I like to play piano. I create songs for the people of Lumeria, who find my melodies soothing. I love stress relieving activities, such as aromatherapy and acupuncture. During school, I study in the medical field, and hope to become a doctor to heal Pokemon and humans alike.

But I sit here, on the tops of the icy cold mountains, waiting. The sky is a pinkish-blue color tonight, and the air is usually quiet. Except for tonight. Something is here, a force in the atmosphere. I have noticed this force somewhere before. That same place…

The place where my mother and father were put to death.

Misty paces herself around the marble floor. Wearing a yellow T-Shirt and skinny jeans, she looks around. The terminal smells like fast food and cheap perfume. People of all ages are walking around, shopping, and waiting for their flight. The workers are cheerful, and helping out the needed. Misty turns to Brock.

“Where is Ash?” asked Misty.

“That’s what I would like to know” replied Brock, looking at his watch. “His flight isn’t delayed or anything….”

It was a sunny Friday. The weekend had just begun. Misty and Brock were at the PokeCenter Terminal outside of Saffron City, the home to transportation. Ash had left earlier this week to go on a safari trip with Professor Oak in search of a new pokemon that had been reported. However, they could never find it, and Ash was flying back home empty-handed.

“Excuse me sir” asks Brock as he walks up to the Flight Manager, “is the flight coming from Goldenrod City delayed?”

“Hm, according to my information, all flights are supposed to be arriving on time.” the Flight Manager replies, “I’ll check it out with my team to see what’s up.”

“Alright thanks.”

Discouraged, Brock walks back to Misty. “So..” Misty says, “any news?”

“Meh” Brock says, “he said he’ll double check with his employees to see what’s going on. I knew he should of just came home instead of taking that trip to Goldenrod.”

Misty sighs. “I wonder why it would take this long….”

Brock laughs. “Misty, have you ever been to an airport? There are tons of unscheduled delays all the time! Don’t worry, nothing is wrong. I bet he’ll be here any minute--”

“Run! Help! Get outta here!”

Misty and Brock quickly turn around to see a guy running away, screaming.

“There is a terrorist here! Get out! He has taken hostages!” The man is furiously panting and is out of breath. Misty and Brock run up to him.

“What happened!?” Brock asks.

“A guy broke inside the terminal! He’s huge with really dark hair and eyes and is tall and-”

“Sir, calm down.’ Brock says. “Take a breath, and give us quality information.”

“I can’t! People will die! I have to get out of here!” He runs off into the distance, joining the many other people running off. An explosion can be heard in the distance as debris can be seen, crumbling down from the terminal.

“Misty, let’s get outta here!” Brock yells.

“Bu-but what about Ash!? We can’t leave him-”

“There is nothing we can do about him right now! We have to care about our own safety! Now run!”

Misty and Brock quickly sprint outside of the Terminal while debris crash down behind them. Chaos took over the building. Through the distance you could see smoke coming out of the East Wing of the airport. People took their children and ran for their lives. Brock and Misty ran outside to the border of the airport, where there were security guards, police, and a S.W.A.T team.

“Hey!” Brock yells, out of breath. “Officers! What is going on!” An officer turns around.

“Hey! You alright?”

“Yeah I’m fine” Brock replies, “what the hell is going on?”

“We have a report on an unidentified man who is taking hostages inside the East Wing. We do not know any more information other than that, but our troops are flanking from the South Side to try and settle this down. Do you need an ambulance?”

“No..” Brock says, “I’m fine..”

“What about the people on the incoming planes?” asks Misty.

“I have no information on that. We just got here, and there is a lot going around.” The officers radio starts to beep. “Be right back” he says.

“Oh man..” Brock says, “this is not good..”

“Yeah,” Misty replies, “hope Ash is ok…”

Minutes feel like hours. Time keeps ticking. Tension fills the air.

“I want all of you people to put your hands on the ground right now! Don’t move!”

“Ye-yes sir!” The people in the terminal listen to his questioning. The man smiles.

“Alright! Do any of you guys have information on an object called the Philosophers Stone?” The group of people all say they don’t know. The man becomes furious.

“Don’t lie to me! Or innocent people will die!”

An explosion comes from the South Side of the wall.

“Put your hands up and let the hostages free!” The troops come inside the building. They are equipped with riot shields and guns. The man curses under his breath as his face turns red.

“Well, I should of known this would happen. It doesn’t matter though, the clock won this time. Although boss did say it was here…”

“Put your hands up and get on the floor now!” the sergeant yells.

“Eh I’m good. I think I’ll book it for now. Later peeps!” The man snaps his fingers and a blue ball of lightning surrounded his body. After the lightning disappears, he is gone.

“What the…” the sergeant says under his breath. The people are stunned.

“Alright!” the sergeant yells, “get these people out of here onto safe territory. The officers listen, and gather up the shaken hostages. The sergeant still looks surprised.

Who was that guy? And how did he get away like that?

“Stay calm people, the police have called us. Everything is under control.”

“Thank god…” says Ash in a relief. The passengers are escorted out of the plane.

“Wasn’t that quite of an experience, right Pikachu?”

“Pika Pika!” Pikachu says in a relieving manner.

Ash gets off the plane along with the other passengers. They are escorted on a detour route away from the debris that is currently being cleaned up. A breeze blew dust and smoke in the air. News helicopters are above in the sky reporting the incident. Ash and Pikachu walk to the borders of the terminal, and spot Misty and Brock.

“Oh my god!” Misty yells in relief, “You’re alright!” Misty runs up and hugs Ash. The hug quickly ends as Misty slaps him in the face.

“Don’t ever scare me like that again ok?!” she yells.

“Ow!” Ash yells, “what was that for?” Pikachu giggles.

Brock rubs the back of his head. “Well it’s glad to see you’re alright. What a day this has been…” The three of them talk about the whole incident as they walk to the parking lot where their Honda CRV is located.

“I’m sorry boss, I could not fulfill your orders.”

The shadowed figure whips electrocutes him with his electric whip.

“God damn you, you useless bastard.” Although he extorts anger, he is quite calm. “How could you not find it?”

The man shakes in pain. “We-well sir, I tried taking hostages to see who had it and-”

“You imbecile! Why would ordinary people have it? You know that the boy has it, so why would you go after them!?”

“We-well sir I tried to find him-”

“It doesn’t matter. The plan is ruined. You know they will be looking onto us, right?” The shadowed figure sighs.

“We will be planning another attack on the boy’s location. Our spies have already tracked him. Let’s try not to screw up this time…Edward Elric.”

Edward looks up. “Yes sir.”

The sun has just begun to set.
