Hi, I’m Thanis. Today I’m getting my first Pokemon. I pretty much know all the 
basic "secrets" about them; it’s just that I haven’t gotten one before. Today is 
my one and only chance. I’m walking to Professor Oak's laboratory. Who is 
Professor Oak, you say? Why, he's the most famous Pokemon expert in the world. 
I've been told by world-wide Pokemon champion Ash Ketchum himself, that 
Professor Oak had met him a long time ago even before the Professor became a 
professor. Sammy Oak (that’s his name) was blown into the future with a Celebi 
(grass and psychic type) by Celebi's time-traveling power. He and ash had to 
save the Celebi before it got captured by this evil guy who wanted to use its 
power for himself. But Ash and Sammy Oak saved the day at the end.

Well, I’m off to the lab. People, no interruptions please. See ya later!

Ok, I’m here. *knock knock knock* hello?
Oak: Just a minute! Oh, there you are. I’ve been preparing the Pokemon for your 
arrival.
Me: Wow, they look so good! Hmm, you assembled all the starter Pokemon for me? 
Even Jhoto?
Oak: Yes. It took me long time to get them all for u.
Me: Thanks so much! Hmm, which one should I choose? I think. . . .either Torchic 
or Treecko  or. .Eevee?!?!
Oak: Yes, I got it just for you. 
Me: but. . but. .
Oak: Oh, yes.
Me: I never knew . . ?!?!
Oak: well I didn’t mean to play favorites but u are the brightest one in all my 
classes.
Me: I never knew that either. Well, I think I'll pick Eevee, since u took so 
many pains to get it. Thanks again!
Oak: You’re welcome! Here’s the Pokeball for Eevee. Bye!
Me: Bye!

And so I start on my journey.

Hi again. I’m going to try out my Eevee today, to see how it battles.

Me: Ready, Eevee?
Eevee: ee, vee!
Ok, let’s find some wild Pokemon!

Cool! There’s a Poochyena! Let’s see if it wants to battle.

Poochyena: grr, rarw!

(Shivers and backs away. nervous chuckle) Ok, it does.

Me: All right, go Eevee!
Eevee: vee!
Me: Eevee, use Tackle!

And so goes the battle.

Me: . . . ?!?!?!?! You defeated it with one move!? You’re powerful, fast, and 
really good at following orders. Cool! I think I’ll name you Keera. How does 
that sound to you?
Keera: ee! (big smile)
Me: All right! Well, you just won your first battle without a scratch. This is 
going to be great!
Keera: ee, vee, ee!
Me: What? You hear something? Hey, I hear it too!
