The trio (remember Raichu!) had finally reached their destination. Now Aaron and Laria were setting up camp, and Raichu was sleeping in its Pokeball. This time Alakazam was helping the trainers by using his psychic powers to move the heavier items. What happened sounded a little something like this:

"Alakazam, use Confusion on those bags!"

"Kazam!"

"Now, put them down over here, where I'm standing."

*Thump*

"Hey, Adrian, could you help me with these?"

"Sure."

"I'm going to pull this stick through, and you straighten this part out. Also, could you watch that to make sure it doesn't get snagged?"

"All right, I've got it. Start pulling!"

With their efforts they finally finished the task. Now Laria set off towards Floral Village to buy supplies, such as food, water, batteries, and Pokeballs. She let her new buddy, Noctowl, get some fresh air by releasing it from its Pokeball. "Hi there. How are you doing?" she asked. The female Noctowl made such a queer face, it made Laria laugh. "What's that supposed to mean?" This time, Noctowl gave a birdish smile. "Well, I guess that means you're contented. That's nice to know. Right now I'm off to that town for some supplies. Do you want to come with me?" Noctowl hooted happily and circled a few times in the air. Laria chuckled. "I guess that means yes. You're quite an energetic bird! We'll definitely have lots of adventures together."

She had no idea how right she was.

Later in the evening, everybody working earlier was resting, absorbed in their own thoughts. Raichu was thinking about the spring he'd found. Alakazam was thinking of how lucky he was to have Aaron as a trainer. Laria and Aaron were, undoubtedly, thinking about each other and how nice the other was, how helpful the other was, and on and on. Noctowl? She was thinking of what she would do tomorrow, male Noctowls she liked, how beautiful she was, when she should preen herself tomorrow, how good Pokemon food tasted, when to wake up and go to sleep, how nice Laria and everybody else was, and, of course, about home. (What do you expect? She's a newly caught female Noctowl.) While everyone daydreamed (or rather, nightdreamed) Noctowl noticed a bush twitch. Bushes don't twitch, Noctowl thought. Just to see what it was, she lay very, very still and pretended to be asleep. Then, suddenly, a cute-looking robot crawled out of the bushes and advanced towards Aaron, all the while limping. The young bird became alarmed. What did this strange looking creature want with Aaron? She moved slightly and started pecking Aaron's ear, to no avail. Feeling frustrated, Noctowl pecked harder. Now Aaron woke up from his "nightdreaming" and saw the robot. He then nodded to Noctowl and produced from his pocket the spring Raichu had found earlier, and tossed it to the cute little thing, which started walking faster until it reached the metal. Suddenly, a pocket opened from its back and from it emerged a claw. The claw reached down, picked up the spring, and pulled it into the compartment. After that, there was a series of whirrs and clicks, and it seemed to Noctowl that it had fixed itself, though she didn't know how. As Aaron smiled the faintest of smiles, the robot inched closer, like a timid pet new to its surroundings. By now everyone else was watching as Aaron beckoned to it, and then picked it up in his hands. The sweet little robot rubbed itself and against his hands and emitted a sort of purring sound, and then settled down as if sleeping. Noctowl sighed, relieved that that was finally over. Now she could sleep in peace.

The next morning, as everyone was eating breakfast, a sound of shaking foliage reached their ears. A girl popped out of the woodland scene and cried, "Squirt! You're all right!" and picked up the robot, which gave a happy chirping noise. She looks pretty young to be here all by herself, Laria thought. Noticing the others staring at them, the girl said, "Oh, hi, my name's Sheila, and this is Squirt, and last night he got out of bed and I only noticed today that he was gone, and so I came to fetch him and-" "Slow down, slow down," Laria said. "First of all, do your parents know you're out here?" Sheila's face suddenly flushed with embarrassment. "Uh, well, my dad doesn't know, but he lets me come out by myself sometimes." Aaron lifted an eyebrow. "Of course, that's only when I'm going to play in our area," she said, her head drooping. "How about we all go to your home and we'll talk to your dad? Is that a good idea?" Aaron asked. Now Sheila's face lifted. "Oh, yeah, sure, it's fine."

Ten minutes later, the group reached Sheila's house. Her father was at the front door, taking care of the garden. When he noticed them, he smiled and waved. Then he walked over to them. "Hello, there! I do hope my Sheila hasn't caused you any trouble," he said. "Oh, no, not at all. All she did was interrupt our breakfast," Laria answered, while looking at Sheila. Sheila gave a nervous giggle. "Well, um, Squirt was gone so I was really worried and I got out of bed to look for him and I didn't remember to tell you I was going out but I just went and I ran and then I saw some metal and I saw Squirt, and I ran there and Laria and Aaron talked to me and we decided to come here and I led them here and now here we are," she said, panting. "Do you always talk in run-on sentences?" Aaron asked. "Um, yeah I think I do 'cause when I was small I would talk in run-on sentences and now I still do that and now Dad is used to it and I am too." Her father rolled his eyes. By now Laria and Aaron were trying to stifle their laughter, and nearly bursting out in laughter in their mirth. "Well, come inside, because I think this is going to be an interesting day."
