A loud giggle woke a few Pokemon up, as a human was tackled down by a cat like creature. They rolled around on the ground for a while, giggles and happy squeals making the awkwardly quiet morning more peaceful. Karly and Eevee stopped, Karly was panting for air, her light brown hair a mess behind her head, while the Eevee purred and sat on her stomach. Reaching up, Karly smiled and petted the Pokemon behind its long ears. “What are we going to name you?” Karly murmured. Her mother had nicknamed all of her Pokemon; most of them were odd but beautiful names. The Eevee cocked its head to the side. “Question first. Are you a female, or a male?” “Ee!” “Male? I thought so.” The Eevee purred its answer. Karly sat up, regarding the Eevee with curious eyes. “How about… Chatli?” The Eevee approved by jumping onto his owner’s chest, resulting in pushing her down with a laugh. “Alright! Chatli it is then!” As the two got up, Karly brushed the dirt from all over her body, and smirked at her Pokemon, before setting off to Cherrygrove. But the two didn’t see, the shadowy figure watching them from behind a tree. The afternoon sun was beating heavily on them, as Karly pulled out a water bottle. Taking a drink, she poured some into a cup so her Eevee could drink as well. “Well, Chatli, welcome to Cherrygrove City! Want to go and battle or take a breather?” The Eevee seemed to like the earlier option, so he darted around his trainer’s feet, before jumping onto Karly’s shoulder. The ten year old girl just laughed, before giggling and nodding. “Battling it is then!” Heading off to the small grassy area, Karly felt a prickling agasint the back of her neck. She had only gotten that feeling, when someone was following her, or something bad was going to happen. “Alright Chatli. There’s a-.” She never got to finishing her sentence before an angry Rattata had jumped out of nowhere at her. “Tackle it Chatli!” Karly yelled, and the Eevee gladly took the challenge, and tackled the rat Pokemon headlong. The Rattata seemed unfazed, but took another Tackle shot at the Eevee. “Dodge!” Even though it wasn’t an official command, Karly knew that her Eevee knew how to dodge. Chatli did just that. The Rattata screeched, and Chatli took this time to tackle it once again. The Rattata fell down, K O’d. “Well done Chatli! Im so happy!” Karly cheered, as her Pokemon yipped and jumped up into her arms, happy its reward was soon going to be a healing center, and some Eevee treats. The battle seemed to put the prickly feeling away, as Karly praised her Pokemon all the way back to the Pokemon Center. The man smirked from where he was hiding behind the tree. She was very well trained and had knowledge only few beginning trainers would have. Her Eevee seemed very well prepared as well, and the man laughed, and recalled his Rattata. This was going to be just right. “Nurse Joy! Nurse Joy, I just won my first wild Pokemon battle!” Karly exclaimed, allowed Chatli to crawl over to Nurse Joy. “Congratulations, Karly.” The Nurse said, while her Chansey waddled over to Karly, and took her hand. “Chan!” Karly allowed the Pokemon to lead her into a back room, where one more Pokemon Trainer sat, eating a salad. Karly watched as Chansey left the room, and she headed over to the Trainer. “U-um.. Hello?” Karly offered, as the Trainer looked up, and smiled. He was ten as well, with black hair and bright blue eyes. He wore a silver vest over a black long sleeved shirt and jeans, like everyone else. “Hi. Im Chase.” Karly took the seat next to him, introducing herself. “I see your just beginning your Pokemon Journey.” Chase said, leaning back in his chair. Chansey brought in a salad, leaving with a happy “Sey!” and left the room. “Yeah, I left New Bark Town this morning. How did you know?” “You have no badges, and only one Pokemon.” “You don’t have any badges either, Chase.” Chase only laughed, and Karly looked down, blushing. Chase laughed and stood as Nurse Joy came in carrying three Pokeballs on a tray. “Here you are Chase, your Pokemon are all better.” Chase took his Pokemon, and clipped them to his belt. Karly smiled when Chatli suddenly came running, looking a lot better. “Chatli!” Karly said, opening her arms and taking her Pokemon in them. Chase saw the bonding between the two, and smiled. Before Chase could leave the room, Karly’s slim hand was resting on his arm. “Chase? ..D-do you want to c-come with me on my Journey?” The boy looked a little surprised, before smiling and nodding. Hey, what harm could it do? “Yeah, Karly. I’ll come with you.” Karly smiled widely and said, “Thanks Chase! This is going to be great!” The two set off, Chase telling Karly what Pokemon she should try to capture. Karly took in every bit of information she could get, nodding. Chase let his beginner Pokemon out, a Chikorita, and watched as the two Pokemon romped and playfully tackled each other, while Chase and Karly laughed and talked some more about Pokemon. They didn’t even reach Violet Town, before night had fallen. Karly had successfully caught two new Pokemon; a Rattata, and a Poliwag. Chatli wasn’t jealous, but he stayed close to Karly. As they set up camp, Karly and Chase let out their Pokemon. Chase’s other two Pokemon, were Sentret, and a Pigdey. “Alright. Poliwag… you are now going to be known as Zeror, and Rattata, you will be known as Niter. Okay you two?” Zeror and Niter both nodded their agreement. “C’mon Karly, we want to be up bright an’ early.” Karly returned her Pokemon into their Pokeballs, and put them into her bag. Chatli snuggled into her sleeping bag, and Karly slid in beside her Pokemon, yawning a quiet, “G’night Chase.” Chase stayed silent; Karly thought he was asleep. She shut her eyes, and smiled to herself when she heard a whispered, “Good Night, Karly.”
