Now you all should know by now that I don't own pokemon or anything 'cept my peeps. Hope you enjoy my fanfic...... It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.- Chinese proverb Darkness disables many people. Dropping like a blanket over their eyes, filling their hearts with fear. Nothing prepared them to face the blackeness. Demons and devils were said to play at night. And no one dared faced the cursed. No one except Blake Aero. She pushed her Rapidash forward, burning the blackness with flame. Her own raven black hair whipped behind her, held proudly in a ponytail. Everything about her shouted "night". With her black leather pants and black hiking boots. Her shirt was a simple blue. Pale skin represented the moon and there were ,of course, her midnight blue eyes. She stared into the night with those eyes, which were dark enough to conceal her secrets. "Damn it!" she swore as she came upon a large river. Rapidash neighed and reared in fear as the waters crashed against the shores. "You've got to jump it, girl....." Blake commanded, rubbing the horse's neck. Rapidash backed up many yards then raced forward, scaling the river in one fluid jump. "Onto Fortree!" Blake yelled, shoving one fist inot the air. The fire horse sped on, a ghost dancing through the night. As Rapidash ran, Blake replayed a single conversation over and over in her head....... "Hello?" Blake answerd her phone. "Blake? This is Winona," the gym leader was talking quickly with anxiety. "What do you want?" Blake asked, sounding bored. "I need your help. We need your help. It's not good. You have to help us!!!" "What? Why?" A yell was heard on the other line. "Winona? WINONA!?!" There was no answer from the flying mistress. Blake slammed down the phone. "Damn..." Blake shook her head. They were now in a heavily wooded forest. Close to Fortree city. She suddenly smelled smoke. "No. I can't be late. I just can't be...." The smoke had become a heavy fog. Blake started to cough and her eyes watered. After blinking furiously, her midnight eyes widened in dismay. "Oh no...." she breathed. She leapt off Rapidash's back and took a pokeball off her belt. "Go, Flygon!" she called. The flying pokemon appeared in a flash of light. Her big red eyes blinked a litte because of the smoke. "Blow it away!" Blake commanded, her voice raspy. Flygon leapt into the air, and with her massive wings, blew the curtain smoke away. What it revealed was disgusting. Blake walked forward as if in a trance. She stared at the charred bodies in disbelief. One sight brought tears to her eyes. She saw the body of a woman bent over a small child. The mother was protecting her child even in death. The heartbroken girl continued on her path of despair. She looked left and saw something just as horrid. Nurse Joy was crumpled on the ground with a bullet hole through her forehead and heart. Sickly pokemon also suffered the same fate. Their blood crated a disgusting pool of death. "Winona!" she cried and raced to find the gym leader, dead or alive. Dashing to where the gym once stood, Blake pushed fallen rock and rubbled away frantically. Crushed underneath a pillar, lay Winona. Blake pulled her broken body out. "Winona! I'm so sorry! This is all my fault," the teenaged girl cried. Slowly, the flyer opened her majestic stormy blue eyes. "No....." she choked out, "It was......them...." "Who? Winona, who?" "They....they called themselves......the Cursed Angels...." "They destroyed the village?" Blake demanded, shaking with anger. Winona weakly nodded her head. "C'mon. I have to get you to a pokemon center!" "NO!!" Winona gathered what strenght she had and grabbed Blake's shoulder, " I'm hurt....beyond repair.......I wish to die.......with my friends and town....." "I can save you!!!!" Winona's grip loosened and she fell back, eyes still open, filled with pain. "Winona? Winona!!?" Blake cried. No answer. Blake's eyes darkened and she layed the dead gym leader down, pausing to close her lifeless eyes. "Damn them to hell. I swear I'll hunt them down. They shall never kill again!!" she vowed. She slammed her fist inot the ground. Rapidash cam up to her and nuzzled her shoulder. Blake looked up at her. "Good job, girl. You did your best. Return..." In a flash of light, the firehorse dissapeared. Blake stood up, her body ridged with rage. "Flygon!" she called. The pokemon landed gracefully beside her. Blake leapt on her back and sat there, contemplating where to go. "Now where would a bunch of psycho paths go? Somewhere with alot of people..... Somewhere like.....Lilycove." With that, Flygon leapt into the air and flew through the skies. "Lilycove, here I come, " she yelled then said softly, "...And this time I won't be late...."
