Hey everyone! It's Torchick again! This part was supposed to be written by The Mudkip Princess but she e-mailed me and told me that she was working on a seperate story and would I do her chapter for her. And I love this story so I agreed. So anywayz, this is Torchick and here's part 2!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 2: Close Call (This chapter is in Jenn's POV. The next one will be in Bobby's POV. Then back to Apryl and you get the picture.) It was Apryl who had answered the phone. I'm pretty glad it wasn't me because I would've fainted. But Apryl looked like she was about to hit the ground by the time she hung up the phone. "Pryl, what's wrong?" Tears stung my best friends' eyes. I began to shake because I knew that whatever it was, it wasn't good. Apryl stared at me, her brown eyes glassy with tears. "It's Brendan. He was murdered in his hotel room." I fell to my knees. "Brendan? Brendan was murdered?" I asked, trying to believe that it was all one sick joke between Apryl and Brendan. Brendan has been my friend ever since I lived in Lavaridge. He couldn't be dead! Apryl nodded and I burst into tears. This couldn't be happening! It had to be a joke! It had to be! Brendan had to still be alive!! Apryl called Bobby to tell him and by that time, the news had sunk in: my friend of 3 years, Brendan Birch, was dead. Apryl hung up the phone. "Bobby's coming by to get us and we're going to the police station." I nodded, her words barely registered. Somebody knocked on the door and we jumped. Apryl actually screamed. I guess we were both freaked out. Apryl and I walked outside, only to find Bobby and his car. There was no masked killer that we could see. We hopped inside and drove off. But inside my home, unknown to me, was a masked person, waiting in my bedroom for me and Apryl to get home. Apryl, Bobby and I walked inside the station. An officer named Jenny tried to get us to leave but backed off once we told her we had been friends with Brendan. "What exactly happened?" Bobby asked the officer. I bit my bottom lip, not sure if I wanted to hear this. "Mr. Birch was found in his hotel room a couple hours ago. A bullet was found in his forehead and he was in a pool of blood. He was dead by the time officers arrived on the scene." I shivered. How could anybody do that kind of thing? We thanked the officer for her time and headed off. Bobby dropped Apryl off at her house and then dropped me off. I blinked. My bedroom lamp was on. I know for a fact that Apryl had turned off all of my lights before we left. I crept into my room and sitting on my bed, was a masked persona, a knife in their hand. You know how in horror movies, the victim tries to scream but no sound will come out of their mouth? That SO wasn't me. I screamed and the killer leapt out of my window and a breeze drifted into my room. Someone knocked on the door and I screamed again. I opened the door cautiously. It was only my next-door neighbor, Ash Ketchum. "Jenn, I heard you screaming all the way from my house. Are you okay?" Now, I only nodded. No one was safe anymore.
