Meowth in the Middle-The Extended Version Pikachu Part 2 Thursday March 11, 2004 Well, here’s the next extended part! Remember that * marks the beginning of a new part and ** marks the end. Trust me; this part will have quite a bit of extended material. Enjoy! ^_^ Meowth and James didn’t like what Jessie had just said. They looked at her warily. “Why are you suggesting this Jessie?” James asked. Jessie wiped another tear from her eye. “Why? What good is Team Rocket if one of the members can’t even steal a Pokemon?” Jessie said tearfully. “Look Jessie. Let me and James steal Pikachu instead of you.” Meowth said. “No! We promised we wouldn’t.” James said. Jessie let out a little sniff. “It wouldn’t work. If you did succeed, I’d probably be too tempted to give him back.” Jessie told them. Jessie then stuffed her sleeping bag back inside her bag and stood up. James stood up to. “Jessie, we’ve been together for such a long time! We can’t split up!” James said emotionally. “We have to! Don’t you understand? I’m no use to the team anymore!” Jessie said painfully. “You can’t do this Jessie! We’re a team and as a team we have to stick together!” Meowth cried out. Jessie shook her head. “I’m sorry. I just can’t anymore.” Jessie said sadly. She then marched past them and walked out of view. Meowth and James plopped down on the ground, depressed. “Well. She’s gone.” James said sadly. “Yeah.” Meowth sighed. *They just couldn’t understand what had gone wrong. “Come on James. We have to think some happy thoughts.” Meowth said dully. “Really. Like what?” James grunted. Meowth was thinking for a moment. “How about that time we were at the beach?” Meowth said. James laughed. “I remember that!” He said, giggling. ***Flashback*** “James! Stop acting like an idiot!” Jessie yelled out. James was standing there with a surf board. “You’re going to get yourself killed out there! You can’t surf!” Meowth said. James looked at the 10 foot waves bouncing along the ocean. “That’s what you think.” James said with a sly grin. Jessie slapped her head. “You are utterly hopeless! Fine! Go out there. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!” Jessie replied. James went running out to the waves but obviously stepped by something and yelped. “Oh what now?” Meowth asked. They ran from their lawn chairs and got to James who was hopping around. Jessie and Meowth were holding back and immense amount of laughter at what they saw. A Shelder had clamped onto James’ foot and he was hopping around madly. “GET-THIS-THING-OFF-ME!!!” He yelled. Jessie and Meowth started laughing. James glared at them. “Help me will you?” He yelled. “Try-jumping-in the water.” Meowth choked. Jessie’s face was red from laughing so much. James flung his foot into the ocean which made the Shelder let go. He came stomping over to Jessie and Meowth who had finally stopped laughing. “Great amount of help you two are!” he roared. ***End flashback*** “It looks like those days are over though.” James said sadly. “Yeah. I know.” Meowth responded. Suddenly, they heard familiar voices. “Isn’t that the twerps?” James asked. “Sounds like them.” Meowth said. ** “Come on! Let’s see if we can steal their Pokemon!” James said. Misty appeared calmer now. “See? Told you we weren’t lost!” Ash said. Misty rolled her eyes. “Don’t start you two.” Brock said warningly. Suddenly Meowth and James pop out of the bushes, looking completely unenthusiastic. “Alright! Hand over your…your…oh it’s not worth it!” James said sadly. “Come on James! We have to steal their Pikachu!” Meowth said. “I’m sorry Meowth. My heart just isn’t in this anymore.” He said sadly. He then turned back through the bushes to where they were camping. * “James. I miss Jessie to. We need to do our job though.” Meowth said. James looked angry. “Has it occurred to you I don’t want to anymore?” James said loudly. Meowth looked stunned. “Well…you were the one who suggested we stole Pikachu.” Meowth said hotly. “I know. I don’t know what to do anymore.” James said. ***Flashback*** “Okay Jessie. We were following the twerps. Where are they?” Meowth asked. “Hold on cat breath. That’s what I’m trying to figure out!” Jessie said through gritted teeth. “Can I help?” James asked. “Help how? Help me walk?” Jessie said sarcastically. “No. Help you find the twerps. They’re right there.” James said, pointing to the other pathway. They began tiptoeing over but suddenly tripped over a hole in the ground. “Whoops. YAAAAAAAA!!!” Jessie yelled. They were now crashing through bushes as they rolled down the hill. “Oh when will this end??!!” Meowth said. “It’s completely wrecking my hair!” Jessie screamed. Finally, they landed at the bottom, scratched, bruised, cut, and covered in dirt. “So much for catching the twerps.” James said sarcastically. Jessie then smacked him on his head. ***End flashback*** A single tear ran down James’ face. Meowth waved a hand in front of his face. ** “Come on James! Snap out of it!” Meowth said. “Without Jessie, this team is pathetic!” James said. “Not that it never wasn’t.” Meowth said under his breath. * “There’s no sarcasm. No fighting. No bickering. No slapping.” James said sadly. “And you miss that?” Meowth asked. “Of course I do. She was one of my best friends!” James replied. “We can always hope that she will come back.” Meowth said softly. ** Somewhere in the forest far away from them, Jessie was setting up her camp. “I know James and Meowth are better without me.” Jessie said quietly. “Team Rocket doesn’t need a member who can’t steal Pokemon. She then came across a photo of them at an amusement park. They were having so much fun. A tear slid down Jessie’s face as the memory came back. ***Flashback*** * “No way! I’m not getting on that roller coaster!” James yelled. Jessie was pulling his arm towards the entrance. “James, I’ve been on it before! It’s not scary!” Jessie said. Meowth was walking behind them, completely embarrassed. “Will you two shut up?! People are staring!” Meowth hissed. They took no heed from him. “James, it won’t hurt you. Trust me okay?” Jessie said. James seemed to calm down. “Okay. If I hate this though, you’re going to pay Jessie!” James said, annoyed. The car rattled up the hill, with James actually in it. “Look! It’s the loop!” Meowth said happily. “LOOP??!!! LOOP??!! YOU NEVER TOLD ME THERE WAS A LOOP!” James screamed. Just then, they plummeted down the hill and through the loop, James yelling all the way. “What do you think??!!” Jessie yelled over the rushing wind. “THIS-IS-THE-MOST-INSANE-THING-EVER!!!” James yelled. After they got off, James looked riveted. “I think I actually like that ride.” James said. “Come on. Let’s see your photo.” Jessie replied. They all laughed when they saw James, screaming his eyes out. ***End flashback*** Jessie sniffed again and finished setting up camp. ** “I hope I did do the right thing.” She thought. She then curled up in her sleeping bag and fell asleep. Back to James, he was sitting by the campfire, petting Meowth. “Well are you ready to go to sleep my buddy?” James asked. All that responded was a purring Meowth. “I guess you’re happy and content. I wish I was to.” James said. He sat on the ground by the fire quietly, stroking Meowth. “I sure hope Jessie’s alright.” James said suddenly. “I don’t think she had to leave the team because she couldn’t steal one Pokemon.” “I couldn’t agree with you more.” Meowth said. James stretched and gently moved Meowth. “I’m going to bed.” James told him. The camp fire grew lower and lower as Meowth gently fell into a slumber. The moon, half full, shined down dimly from the sky with the stars. After awhile, Meowth began the deep breathing of sleep. * The next morning dawned quite gloomy. Meowth yawned and spotted a piece of paper next to him. He picked it up and began reading. It said: “Dear Meowth, I hate to do this but I need to go find Jessie. It’s driving me nuts. I tried waking you up to follow, but you wouldn’t wake up. I am off to try and convince her to rejoin. Try and find me as I think the two of us could persuade her more together. I hate to do this but I must. Take care and see you soon. James” Meowth re-read the letter numerous times. Finally, he sighed and put the note on the ground. “Well, it looks like it’s up to me to bring the team back together.” He said. With that, he hopped of the tree stump and walked away. To be continued… Wow. Quite a few more flashbacks. Gives you a better view of the story I think. Its 4 1/2 pages long, 3/12 longer than the original Part 2! Well, review! ^_^
