Meowth in the Middle-The Extended Version Pikachu Part 3 Tuesday June 15, 2004 Yipes. I completely spaced this story since I’ve been working on all my other ones. He he. ^.^ Well, that won’t happen again because this is the last part! Remember that * marks the beginning of a new part and ** marks the end. I’m probably cutting out a few things in this part to and re-ordering things as well. Enjoy! *Meowth hopped down from his tree stump and looked around. Not a breath of wind or anything. Just the grey clouds moving overhead. “Real nice James! You could have carried me or something!” Meowth yelled out suddenly, startling some sleeping Hoot-Hoot in a tree above which caused them to hoot angrily. “Oh shut up you stupid owls.” Meowth replied grumpily. He looked around more in the soggy ground. “Come on James. You had to of left some sort of trail.” Meowth thought. He wandered around the area several more times looking for some sort of trail left. Finally, he spotted a very light pair of tracks moving south. “Aha! There we go. James, you better have stepped hard enough to leave a trail to follow.” Meowth said happily. He wandered off into the forest just as it started to lightly sprinkle. Meowth was sheltered from the rain by the trees and so were the light tracks James had made as he walked away. “Please lead to James. Please please please.” Meowth thought. *** James had stumbled over the 6th tree root of the day and kicked it. His foot immediately began throbbing with pain. “Ouch! I didn’t need that you stupid piece of wood!” James yelled out. Almost as in retaliation of his comment, a gust of wind blew by and a small branch whapped James on the back, sending him sprawling onto the ground. “Stupid nature.” James said bitterly just as the trees blew back and showered him with a downpour of rain. “ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” James yelled and ran away. *** Jessie tossed all her things into a bag as she had just woken up. She felt a light raindrop on her head. “As if things couldn’t get more depressing. This just sets the tone completely.” Jessie muttered. She looked around, trying to decide which path to take. She finally decided on a fairly clear trail and headed into it. Little did she know, she was walking right at James and James was walking right at her. *** Meowth had been walking with nothing to eat or drink. He was getting fairly tired. “I’m so sleepy. I don’t think a little rest would hurt me.” He thought. He curled up in a bundle of bushes and closed his eyes. “I’ll need all my energy to try and find James and Jessie.” Meowth thought sleepily. He then fell into a restless sleep. He had only been sleeping for about half an hour when he entered the dream phase. It was a nightmare. For real. A vision is fuzzy at first and then becomes clear. James is seen with Jessie and he throws something at a tree. Immediately, a swarm of Beedrill flies up and began to fly at Jessie and James. ** “Help! They’re coming after us!” Jessie screamed. “Go away! Get away!” James yelled, swiping at one close by and stunning it. “Oh why won’t they go away!” Jessie yelled. “Maybe we could avoid an attack by running possibly?” James said urgently with some sarcasm. “It’s possible! Let’s hurry!” Jessie yells. They begin running and the swarm begins to draw closer. The dream then begins to fade. “Somebody help! They’re going to attack us!” Jessie yells. Meowth awakes with a start. “Wha-? What just happened??” Meowth asked himself. The dream he just had comes flooding back to him. “Oh God no. Tell me that’s not going to happen. Say it won’t.” Meowth silently pleads. Somewhere deep down though, he knows it’s true. “I have to find Jessie and James fast!” Meowth says out loud and immediately goes back to following James’ trail. *** *James had been walking for awhile, still looking for Jessie. He pulled a Granola bar out of his pocket and began eating. “This is harder than I thought. One would think that someone wouldn’t be this hard to find.” James said angrily. He kicked a stone and it flew into the bushes. “I hope I find her soon. I don’t have a good feeling.” James thought. *** Jessie had just sat down to eat when a rock sailed out and hit her in the face. “OUCH!” She yelled. She looked around. “Who’s there?” She called out. She heard footsteps clomping through the forest towards her and she froze. Who was that? Suddenly, James’ face popped out of the bushes. “JESSIE!” He yelled happily and flung himself towards her. “James! James knock it off! You’re going to hurt me!” Jessie said as he had flung himself at her. “I’ve been looking for you all day!” James said.** “Don’t you mean you and Meowth have?” Jessie asked. James shook his head. “Oh. So Meowth has been lazing around all day?” Jessie asked. She looked around. “Say James. Where IS Meowth?” She asked. “We separated. I tried to bring him with me but he wouldn’t wake up.” James said. “Why were you looking for me anyway?” Jessie asked. “Well, the team just lost its heart. We couldn’t do anything without thinking of you.” James told her. “I didn’t know I meant THAT much to you guys.” Jessie said tearfully. “You do. Will you come back?” James asked. Jessie nodded. “Okay. Now let’s find Meowth together.” James said. They gathered their things and walked off. *Meowth didn’t know it, but he was just less than 50 yards away from Jessie and James. “Come on. Where are they? They have to be around here somewhere.” Meowth said sourly. Just as he fell silent, he heard a laugh that sounded a lot like-“ “Jessie!” Meowth yelled. He went running in their direction as fast as he could. “James? Did you hear my name get called?” Jessie asked. “No. Are you hearing things?” James asked. Jessie shrugged just as a joyous feline pounced onto her and knocked her to the ground. The only problem is that James had tossed a rock at a tree nearby in alarm which aroused the inhabitants of it. “Meowth you stupid fur ball. You nearly gave me a heart attack!” Jessie giggled. They stopped as they heard a rather loud buzzing above them. “Uh, what’s that?” James asked nervously. Meowth’s eyes widened in fear. “It’s a swarm of Beedrill.” He whispered. Just then, the swarm flew to the top of the trees in a battle position. “Help! “Somebody help! They’re going to attack us!” Jessie yells. “Meowth! Try using your Scratch Attack!” James yelled. Meowth nodded and did an abrupt face. The Beedrill continued to swarm closer to them. “Eat my claws you pests!” Meowth yelled as he cut through all of them, scratching them badly. They were so surprised that they flew back to their tree. James and Jessie stood there, stunned. “Meowth! You just saved our lives!” Jessie cried happily. “I don’t know how I can thank you!” James said happily. “Does this mean we’re a team again?” Meowth asked. Jessie and James looked at each other. “It certainly does!” They replied. The End Gah! It took me an hour and a half to write that! Hope it was good and review! ^_^
