Chapter One: The Missing Eevee The Farfetch'd smiled in glee as it beat my Muk with its stick. Then it twirled its stick and did a stupid pose. I was really angry that I didn't capture the Farfetch'd. But one day, I'd be the strongest trainer… Suddenly, I awoke from my dream. Even in my dreams, I'm losing! My name is Kyle Dragon. I want to be just like Ash Ketchum. Ash defeated Team Rocket's first squad 20 years ago. I think he's the strongest trainer alive. I want to be the second strongest, or at least the third, or something like that. Anyway, I didn't even have a Pokemon yet! I'm 12, so I actually started a little later than Ash did. I live in the "peaceful" town of Greenville. Greenville is near New Bark Town, where this guy named Kamon used to stay. He's cool, too. Anyway, I raced to Professor Eve's lab. Prof. Eve is Professor Oak's half brother. Professor Oak died 3 years ago, and it broke my heart. I went inside of the old building to bump right into a policeman. "Move it, kid," he said. "We have a case on our hands." I backed away as Professor Eve walked by, mumbling, "Oh, no… Please, oh, no…" I walked up to the sad scientist. "What's wrong, Professor Eve?" I asked. Professor Eve looked down at me with gentle blue eyes. "One of my starting Pokemon is missing!" He put his face in his hands in worry. I patted him on the back, which was a hard thing to do because he was way taller than me. "Don't worry. Hey, would you like me to find it?" I can be a helpful person sometimes. "Yes, please. And thank you, um…" "Kyle. Kyle Dragon." He smiled. "Yes, Kyle. And, if you do find it, you may keep it if you wish. But contact me to tell me that you found it." I nodded and began to leave, but before I could, Professor Eve stopped me. "Here. Take this Masterdex and these Potions. You may need them." "Thanks again," I said. "I'll find that Eevee!" Chapter Two: Girl Power As I was walking happily into the Black Forest, I heard a crunching noise. It sounded like someone eating something. Me, being a Sherlock Holmes, decided to investigate. When I turned around a tree, something tripped me and I went sprawling onto a patch of grass. "Hey! What was that?" I cried. No answer. So I assumed that it was a log or something and walked on. But before I could forget the trip up I felt someone push me into a tree. I spun around to face a laughing girl. She looked about 12, my age. "You're funny." She smiled. I blushed. I don't do well around girls. Then I stopped blushing and felt angry. "Why'd you push me and trip me?" She shrugged. "You're just funny to bother, that's all." That didn't sound like an intelligent answer to me, so I still felt kind of angry. So I just walked off. But before long, I felt as if I was being followed. I looked over my shoulder. No one there. So I kept walking. Then I heard some faint laughing. Usually I'd be smiling that a girl was following me, but right now was not the time. I finally found a city across a beautiful horizon, but unfortunately I didn't know what it was, so I took out my map to see. But a hand shot out and grabbed it. "Hey-Oh, no!" I yelled. "It must have been that girl." So this time, I was stalking her. It took no longer than a minute to find her. She was right behind me. "Okay, where's the map?" She giggled. "I don't know." I felt my face turn hot again. "Did you steal it or not?" She giggled again. "Yes. But you're going to have to search me." My face felt so hot I had to gain my balance. The girl giggled harder than before. "My name's Mea. What's yours?" I thought quickly. "If you give me my map, I'll tell you." She pondered on this for a while, and then smiled. "I'll tell you where it is if you tell me your name." I felt hot again, and then said, "Okay." "My name is Kyle Dragon." "That's a cute name." I fainted from being so hot. Chapter Three: Welcome To Dratini City Mea followed me halfway around the world, it seemed, so I told her she could stay with me on my adventure. She gave me the map, so I decided to go to Dratini City. "I heard the Dratini there glow at night." She said in awe. "Cool," I said sarcastically. I wasn't really into seeing Dratini, I was into finding Eevee. But I took out my Masterdex anyway and analyzed Dratini. "Dratini, the rare Pokemon. Its Evolution stages are as follows: Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite. Dratini usually are seen near the Whirlpool Islands, which, unfortunately, sunk into the sea." "Oh, Kyle, look! Team Rocket!" I spun around, almost knocking Mea over in the process. There were five Team Rocket Grunts and one kid. He had some weird green hair and an evil scowl on his face. "Get that Dratini!" He ordered. I almost laughed, that a small kid like that was bossing around five grunts. "Ever since we stole that Eevee from Professor Eve you three have been acting like weaklings!" I gasped angrily. I thought T.R. was done with their tricks! So I went up to the green haired guy and yelled: "Why'd you steal that Eevee?" He looked at me, and with a sneer answered: "Who wants to know?" I tried to sneer back. "I do, now hand it over." The boy didn't answer, but looked down at my Poke' belt, which was empty. He produced a dry, cutting laugh. "You don't even have any Pokemon. What a joke." He turned around, but then Mea stepped up to first base. "You jerk hand over the Eevee." The green haired jerk had a glassy look in his eyes. I could tell he was just like me: hard around girls. "Um…" He was blushing and sweating all over. "I don't have it. My boss does." "Where is your H.Q?" I cried. "Underneath Apple City." I took out my map and saw Apple City: about 30000 miles away!" Mea took a look at the map. "Oh, no! That'll take forever! Just to get one little Eevee! Why don't you just catch an Eevee or something?" "Because, Mea, I'm a honest guy who'll never try to trick people." I thought that sounded good how I said it, but Mea didn't take it. "Call the Professor and tell him." I decided that was a good idea. The Masterdex was also a phone. So I dialed in Prof. Eve's number. "Hello? Professor Eve, I just got some news from Team Rocket that they have stolen your Eevee and took it to Apple City. How can we get there the quickest?" A pause, and then, "Take the Dratini Subway to Apple City. Is the Team Rocket base underground? You can get there quicker that way." "Thanks, Prof." I said, and then hung up. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get on the subway!" cried Mea. She dragged me to the front gate. Chapter Four: The Dratini Subway We got on the subway after about three hours because of a Snorlax on the tracks. Then we squeezed into the Apple City Subway with other wannabe trainers. One was a geek with a weak Ratata. Another was a fat kid with a Pidgey who hated him. The ride seemed to take forever. Finally, I couldn't take any more of the fat kid and the geek. I walked up to the front of the subway: to find no one there! "EVERYONE!!!!" I cried. "THERE IS NO DRIVER!" Of course, I didn't say that, I just thought it in my head. So I sat down in the seat, buckled in, and began to drive the subway. But just then, I saw the truck in the subway. The big red R shining in my face. I felt so weak… I couldn't stay awake…I fell asleep, as the brakes were automatically activated. Okay, listen. This above (except when we got on the subway) is all a dream I had when I was sleeping. When I woke up, the green haired kid was staring down at me. "I know this guy," He smiled. "He and that girl Mea were looking for the Eevee. I told them that it was in Apple City." I realized he didn't know I had woken up. I looked around the room for Mea. I didn't see her. I suddenly heard: "Let me go, you creeps!" Mea was pushed into the room with me, the fat kid, the geek, and another subway hostage. Then the creeps closed the door and locked us in. The other subway hostage, a man with a cap on his head labeled: "Poke' Freak", stood up and looked around, as if he weren't used to his environment. "Where are we?" He asked. The fat kid began to cry. He looked like a leaking balloon. The geek was thinking of a "mathematical equation" to get us out. Oh boy. Your crazy wannabe trainers… "I was on the subway, headed to Apple City for Professor Elm, when I was blinded by some light and put here." Said the man. I just thought everything over. "Team Rocket abducted us," I said finally. "We must be important to them. We were the only ones on the train with Pokemon, besides the train conductor." The geek spoke up. "My name is Neville. I heard the conductor was taken hostage at Apple City." Mea just sat on the floor and cried. "If only I hadn't followed you, I would've been home eating soup or something." "That's it!" The man cried. "These walls look pretty thin. If a good flamethrower hit them…" I thought I suddenly recognized the man's face, but I lost him. "Go, Charizard!" He cried. The big Dragon came form its Poke'ball. "Use your Flamethrower on these walls." The Dragon nodded. Then it sent a powerful blast at the wall, melting it. "Good job, Charizard!" The man grinned. "Hey kid." I didn't realize he was talking to me. I spun towards him, startled. "I can tell that you don't have any Pokemon, so take this." He handed me a poke'ball. I saw tears form in his eyes. "I don't know why, but I can trust you with him. It's weird. It's like there's a bond between us, you know?" I shook my head. I didn't even know the guy and he was and he was babbling about a bond! He continued about the Poke'ball. " He's a shocker, I'll tell you that." I thought then that this was the best time to ask my question. "Who are you? You are so familiar." He smiled. "Ash. Ash Ketchum." I gasped. "You are?" I felt tears form in my eyes this time. "I've been hoping to meet you ever since I was three." He smiled at me again. "You got your wish." Before he could leave, I said, "Thanks for the Pokemon, Ash. I'm Kyle Dragon." He nodded to Mea. "I think she likes you, Kyle." I felt myself blush, along with Mea. Ash laughed. "Good luck on your Pokemon journey." Then he flew off on his Charizard. As he left, I looked at the Pokeball he gave me. It had a Thunder symbol on it. I then realized what Pokemon this was. "It's Ash's Pikachu's baby!" I cried. Mea came running up to me. "What? He gave you that?" I grinned at her. "Yep. He said he trusted me." Mea just giggled. "Come on. Let's get out of here." We left out of the room. I was grinning as we left, because I knew that I could trust Pikachu. And he could trust me, too. Chapter Five: A New "Friend" We came out of the subway and into a city that seemed really weird. Want to know why? Just look around. The whole city smelled like apples, the people were all wearing red, restaurants sold nothing but apples, and the street felt like apples. Becky didn't seem to notice. She was staring at a boy across the street. "Why does he look so familiar…" she said. Then she walked across the street. "Wait! Becky, look out!" I cried. She didn't hear me as an Apple Car came racing towards her. I ran towards her. I was about two steps away from her, when two strong arms forced me forwards. I fell with a thump onto the sidewalk as the boy Becky saw earlier helped her across the street towards me. "Hey, are you okay, Becky?" I said. She nodded, and then looked at the boy. "Thanks for saving my life. Who are you?" The boy grinned. "My name is Drake." I don't know why, but I felt really jealous. I shook off the jealously and shook Drake's hand. "If it wasn't for you, both of us would've been in the hospital. He grinned that annoying grin again. "It's my job. You see, my Mom has a lot of twin sisters. Her name is Officer Jenny. So I got the genes of Law Enforcement. Who are you?" "I'm Becky." I smiled. "I'm Kyle." Suddenly, a shrill scream was heard from a large building down the street. Drake looked nervous. "Someone is attacking the Apple Executive building!" Becky, Drake, and I ran for our lives, as if our parents were in danger or something. They weren't but other people were. Drake stopped at the door and tried to open it. It didn't budge. "Let me try," I smiled, trying to impress Becky. I slammed against the door. It didn't budge. My arm hurt. Drake suddenly did a perfect flip and kicked the door down. All in one kick. I sighed, feeling low. We walked inside quietly. The room seemed peculiar. I wondered why. As we walked into the room, I heard a slight knocking of someone's heart. It wasn't mine, because mine was beating way faster than the one I was hearing. Then I knew. "MEA! DRAKE! RUN!!!!!" I cried. They stared at me, confused. I grabbed their arms and ran out of the building, as the Onixes came from the floor of the building. "Isn't it Friday?" I asked. Drake nodded, and then slapped his forehead. "Of course! No one goes to work on Fridays here in Apple City!" I pondered hard. Mea sighed. "This is all just crazy. Who set that trap?" Drake frowned angrily. "Team Rocket did it. Someone here is a person T.R. is after." Mea and Drake stared at me. "What?! I'm not on the T.R. list!" I whined. "I know I'm not n the list," Drake said. "And Mea is definitely not on there. So it leaves you. Only you were able to know about the trap set." Mea gasped. "You also knew about Team Rocket's plan in the Dratini Subway!" Then she said some horrible words. "I can't believe Ash Ketchum himself would give you a Pokemon!" Drake frowned at me as he and Mea walked off, leaving me alone. Chapter Six: The Baltoy Boy I walked dejectedly down Apple City Street, looking for a suspicious place where T.R. could hide Eevee. Suddenly my Masterdex rang. It was Prof. Eve. "Kyle, are you-" He trailed off. "No sir, I'm not part of T.R. I'm trying to find your Eevee, remember?" Eve looked nervous. "What if you're just going back to the T.R. to tell them about my plan to send someone to get it?" "Sir, I'm not part of an evil organization that steals innocent Pokemon." "I believe you, Kyle. So, have you gotten a Pokemon yet?" I nodded. "You won't believe who gave me his Pokemon's child!" Mea felt devastated. She had really liked Kyle, and now they had just met. All she had been on the trip was a pain in the neck for him. Now she was walking away. It wasn't as if he cared about her, anyway, but the problem was she cared about him. "Drake, er… I'm sorry.. I have to go back." She stuttered. "What? To that T.R. member Kyle?" "No, to my best friend." And she turned and walked back. "Kyle, you are getting amazingly far in your quest. For that, I have a Pokemon for you. Go to the nearest Pokemon center and check your PC." I searched for a while and then bumped into Mea. I ignored her. "Kyle, look, I'm-" "I don't care anymore, Mea," I said. She sighed. "Okay… I might as well go home then…" She began to walk away but I cried: "Wait. Okay, tell me what you want." She smiled. "I just wanted to say, I'm sorry. Drake was a total jerk to you. I never want to see him again." I nodded, and I called, "Hey, there's a Pokemon center." But as we went in, a boy rushed by us, trying to get out. "All of you leave me alone!" he cried. Four men chased after the boy. "You come back here, kid! You stole our Baltoy!" As they ran by, they knocked over Mea and me. I quickly got up and called out Pikachu. "Go, Storm!" I yelled. The Pikachu came out, its tail standing up on one end. One of the men stopped and called out an Ivysaur. "Storm, Thundershock!" The attack sent Ivysaur flipping but it got back up. "Ha! Poison, Razor Leaf!" The leaves scratched Storm and it fell. "No, Storm!" But my Pikachu got back up. "CHU!" It cried. "Huh?" I said. "Storm, Thunderbolt!" The sky got dark. We al looked up. Storm was glowing a fierce yellow. "…Um…Storm?" I gasped. It looked at me. "Chu…" It said. Then it sent the biggest bolt I'd ever seen at the Ivysaur. "SAURRRR!!!!" It wailed as the blast knocked back everybody. People were screaming. I couldn't keep my balance and I fell on Mea and another girl. I blacked out. When I woke up, Mea was staring down at me. "Oh, you're okay!" She said. "Storm was AMAZING! I saw everything! Well, I only saw half until you fell on me." We both laughed. Then Nurse Joy walked in with the other girl I fell on. "Your Pikachu is seriously injured." She said. I took a long look. "Oh…" Storm was a charred black color. "Storm… oh, no!" I yelled. I began to jump up but the other girl stopped me. "Who are you!?" I screamed at her. "My Pikachu is hurt!" "I'm Jeni. Don't worry, Kyle, your Pikachu is safe with Nurse Joy." Then I saw him. The Baltoy Boy. "Hey, dude, you were sizzlin' out there!" Jeni moaned. "Oh, that's my little brother, Dennie. He's a pain in the neck ALL OF THE TIME!" Dennie pouted. "Mom said you were mean to me!" He whined. I cleared my throat loudly. "Oh, sorry. Your Pikachu will be taken to Aqua tank therapy. It's the newest therapy there is. Let me show you." She helped me up: My legs felt wobbly. We hobbled and wobbled to the next room. Storm was in a big tank. "But won't it drown?" Jeni smiled. "That water has been purified enough that even air breathers can live in it." She looked at me. "Oh, don't worry. Storm will be okay in about… two days." "TWO DAYS!? But…" Jeni shook her head. "No buts. We may have the newest healing method, but it takes longer than the regular way." "Well, why don't you heal it the old way?" I asked. "Your Pikachu has injuries that are unbearable! We can't use the old way. It won't work." I sighed. It would take longer to get Eevee than I thought! In the second book: Kyle gets a new adventurer on his quest! Mea shows her true feelings! Storm is finally healed! Kyle battles against the Apple City gym leader, Dante!
