“The Earth has changed. There is no water, except on T.V. Instead, there is food. Food with water inside. Like Watermelons and Strawberries. I, Flash Lightning, think that there is water somewhere. Some of the Pokemon species are extinct now because of this. Like Goldeen and Seaking. And even Pidgey. We need water. I want to hold a tournament against the king, who holds our water. Whoever wins gets all of the water. The king has seven trainers that have amazing, different Pokemon. They seem so weird, not normal at all. There’s this Meowth that can talk. And this singing Charamander. And a Bulbasaur with dark black skin. So I want to win our water back. Are you with me?” The crowd cheered at Flash’s speech. “Great! We’re with you all the way!” Flash smiled at his crowd. “We will make a difference,” he said to his sister, Jenni. Flounda looked as angry as his Snubbull. “You tricked me, Willen,” He said. “And now your Mewmew will pay for it.” He grabbed my Meowth and lifted it by its tail. “I’ll cut it off. Snubbull, Bite!” Suddenly two pairs of strong hands grabbed Mewmew and yanked it from Flounda, and then they gave Mewmew to me. “Who are those guys?” I asked aloud. Then I saw the official T- Shirts and I sighed. “The king’s trainers,” I said. “Flounda, don’t waste your time on puny trainers like this,” said the one named Kieta. “Yeah,” agreed Joro. “You should be battling someone who can fight back.” Flounda took a hating glance at me. “You tricked me into giving you my weakest Pokemon, Clefairy, but I’ll get it back, even if it hated me and I hated it.” Then the three left. I grinned at my new Pokemon, Clefairy. “That jerk deserved it,” I thought. “The king deserved it.” Flash and Jenni began to walk home. Flash was about 14 and Jenni was 20 so they didn’t need parents, even if their father died fighting Team Rocket 37 years ago. Team Rocket was gone for good this time, and the two attended Ash’s funeral. Flash saw an old woman crying. Jenni explained that the girl was Misty and she used to travel with Ash when she was younger. But since he died she had been devastated. Gary was as old as his grandfather, who died about 20 years ago. Gary took the role of being a scientist with Prof. Sketchit. They studied how Ditto could transform into many different kinds of Pokemon and ran many tests. Flash wished he could be a scientist someday but he kept that secret from his sister. “I wonder if we have any more gifts waiting at home,” moaned Jenni. They’d been getting gifts ever since Flash made his speech at the old Pewter City Gym. But when they arrived there they saw a kid standing there, looking afraid. “Who are you?” asked Flash. “I…I’m…” The kid couldn’t talk. “I’m Willen. W-W-Willen Flame.” Jenni looked at him. “Do you work for the king?” Willen shook his head nervously. “I should’ve known. But I see you have three Pokemon there. I order for me to believe you I have to battle you.” Willen looked nervous even more. “Okay…but I warn you I’m pretty tough.” He took one of the Pokeballs from his belt. “Go, Crocanaw!” The Pokemon came from his Pokeball. Jenni was about to call out her Pokemon but Flash stopped her. “I have a feeling that this boy knows his stuff. Go, Marowak!” The bone-club Pokemon looked at Crocanaw and laughed. “Crocanaw, use your Surf!” A giant wave of water crashed down on Marowak but he still had energy left. “Marowak, Focus Energy!” Marowak began to get pumped up and Willen looked scared. “Crocanaw, Bite!” Then Willen remembered his Meowth and felt angry. “Crocanaw, before you bite, take this.” He handed Crocanaw something Flash couldn’t see. Flash saw Crocanaw nod slowly, and then it began to light up. “No, it’s evolving!” cried Flash and Jenni. But it was too late. Instead of Crocanaw, Ferligatr stood up, ready to fight. “Ferligatr, use your Strength attack!” Ferligatr picked up a giant rock and threw it at Marowak. “Marowak, Boomerang!” Marowak threw the club and it smashed into the rock and broke it into pieces. “Ferligatr, Mega Punch!” The punch blasted Marowak away and into a wall. “Now I choose…” began Flash. But then a loud siren blared over the town. “Oh, no!” cried Flash. “The king’s men have raided Bedlba!” Everything went in Super fast motion. Before I could do anything Flash took off as Jenni ran after him. Flash was running so fast he was a blur and Jenni couldn’t catch him. Maybe that’s why he was called Flash. I sure hoped he would be okay. He was an excellent Pokemon trainer, but too bad we didn’t get to finish our battle. Because I would’ve used my secret weapon that the king gave me… Flash ran to town. “Move, people! What’s going on?” he cried. No one answered. So he stopped by a girl. “Excuse me, do you know what’s going on?” She looked at him and screamed. “You’re Flash Lighting! I just ADORE you! Ohhhh!” She grabbed him and led him out of the crowd and into a little cottage. “Mom! Dad! Guess who I brought home with me?” Flash heard the Mom’s reply: “Another helpless victim?” She giggled. “She has a corny sense of humor.” The Dad walked in- and screamed. “Honey, it’s Flash Lighting!” The Mom just laughed. “Yeah, and I’m the Queen of Spain.” “Really! It is! Come see!” The Mom sighed. “Okay…” Then she said him- and, no surprise, screamed. “Oh my gosh! Becky, you brought home Flash Lighting?!” Then she fainted right there. The father caught her. “She’s so overjoyed, just like us. What brings you to our small little cottage?” Flash blushed. “I’m wondering what’s going on in the town. Why is the siren blaring?” The father smiled. “Oh, that’s our alarm for our new gym enrollment.” “What’s that?” asked Flash. He’d never heard of that before. “The king made a new gym and that alarm is to tell you that you can enroll for it.” Flash said angrily: “That stupid king probably put those weird Pokemon in there to beat us. He already took all of our water.” The mother awoke and looked at Flash with happiness. “The king said he took the water for safety purposes but no one believes him!” Jenni and Willen looked for Flash in the city. When they saw the long line coming from a small cottage, they went in. And guess who was there, signing autographs? “Yo’, sis and Willen!” smiled Flash. He heard Becky and her parents gasp. “Willen! That’s number 3 of the Super Seven! He works for the king!” Now that the heroes have figured out Willen’s secret, will he escape? It’s not like we care for him or anything, he’s the bad guy.
