Chapter 2: The Journey Starts

Now in this and the next few parts I’ll be switching between Misty and Brock so

	As Brock finally calmed Misty down she realized something Brock didn’t.  
“Hey Brock exactly how are we going to get to the Hoenn Region when we couldn’t 
even get out of the heart of the Viridian Forest?”  “Good question Misty.  I 
can’t answer right now but I can tell you we need to go someway so we can get 
out of here and start a journey to save Ash.” Brock told Misty with confidence.  
They walked until they came to an area where the paths went two separate ways.  
“I think this is the way to Pallet Town.” Brock said.  “Who said anything about 
going to Pallet Brock we need to head to Vermillion City.” Misty told Brock.  
“Fine Misty, we’ll split up and meet at Professor Birchs’ Lab.  Is that ok?” 
asked Brock.  “Sure Brock.  That will work perfectly.”  Misty and Brock went 
their ways and that was that.
Misty’s POV
“I can’t believe I agreed to separate with Brock.  He was the only one who could 
convince me that Ash is still ok.” Misty continued on until she came to a little 
shack.  She realized that the shack belonged to Tracey.  She remembered him 
telling her about it.
Flashback
“Hey Misty, Professor Oak fired me today because I hit a shelf and mixed up all 
the pokemon.” Tracey started to cry on Misty’s shoulder.  “Tracey I’m so sorry 
for you I can’t believe Professor Oak actually fired you.” Misty said trying to 
console Tracey.  “Misty, I’ve decided to go live in a shack I saw in Viridian 
Forest.  It’s near Pewter City so it will be easy to get some air and supplies.” 
Tracey explained to Misty.  “That’s great Tracey.  I hope you get along well 
with the bug pokemon in there.” Misty told Tracey who said that it would be a 
chance to draw and get more sketches “Oh, and Misty I wanted to tell you 
something.  Ever since we journeyed together with Ash in the Jhoto Region I’ve 
always loved you Misty and to this day I love you.”  That earned Tracey a good 
smack with Misty’s mallet.  Tracey just ran into the forest and was never seen 
again.
End Flashback

	That was two years ago.  There was no possible way Tracey still lived 
there.  It was worth a shot though.  So she went up to the door, knocked and who 
would open the door but …………….

Brocks POV
      “It was a good thing that Misty and I went separate ways.  This way she 
can live her life long dream.  She always wanted to adventure through the 
pokemon world alone and now she get her wish.” Brock thought as he found himself 
in Viridian City.  “Ha told her I was right.” Brock started running towards 
Pallet Town.  He didn’t even notice the six eyes that were watching him from the 
roof of the Viridian Gym.  “Hey James, isn’t that one of the twerps we’ve been 
following for how long?” asked Jessie which got the response “I believe that’s 
the one they call Brock.  The question is, Jessie, why is he all alone and 
running towards Pallet Town.” James said.  “Who cares?  If we follow him then we 
get a chance to find out more about the biggest twerp of them all.” came the 
voice of Meowth from behind the two.  “Alright we’ll do it.” said Jessie and 
James at the same time.  Brock was already in Pallet by the time that 
conversation was finished.  He ran straight for the home of Ash Ketchum.  He had 
intended to tell Ms. Ketchum about how Ash went missing.  Only, something wasn’t 
right.  Now the mailbox said “Home of Mrs. Ketchum”.   Funny, Brock never knew 
that Ash’s mom was married.  Of course he knew about Ash’s real father but he 
was dead.  Team Rocket killed him when he refused to join them.  He had to find 
out for himself.  He ran up to the door, knocked and Ash’s mother opened the 
door revealing her husband …
