Redstreak Orphan Part 2: by Pitriboy          OT                         "The Road to Pokemon begins"

Team Rocket ran into the Pokemon Center. "Okay, just give us you're Pokemon, and nobody will get hurt," Rocket Grunt said to Nurse Joy. He took a laser gun out of his pocket and aimed it at her.
"Ohhh," Nurse Joy whimpered. "Oh no."
"I said NOW!" the rocket said. He was wearing a black suit and white boots. He had a black hat on, and a mask that covered everything above his nose.
Nurse Joy nodded to Lizzie and I. Reluctantly we walked over to the Pokemon's cages and opened them. There were only six of them. I got two Meowth's out of the cage. I felt really bad for them.
"This isn't right," Lizzie said. "I've got an idea. Where's that ruby that you have."
I took it off of my neck. I had put a string through it. Lizzie banged it against the lock. The lock came off. She did it to four other ones. We took all of the Pokemon out. Lizzie then opened the door.
"Just put the Pokemon in this bag, kids," Rocket Grunt said. I turned around as if I was going to pick up a Pokemon, but instead swung the ruby at his head. He fell to his knees. Out of the room, the Meowth jumped onto the Rocket and started using Slash. Rocket Grunt screamed out in pain and them fell back onto the ground.
"Here, I have Pikachu and Marill," Nurse Joy said, coming out of the ER. "They're only 83% healed, but you should get them out. Hurry! I'll send all of the Pokemon to Rancher Village."
She handed Pikachu to me and Marill to Lizzie. We stood on the window sill. "Hey, there's no ladder!" Lizzie cried.
All of a sudden there was a ram on the door. "Team Rocket is using the ladder to ram open the door," Nurse Joy said. "I'm sorry, but you'll just have to -- jump."
I gasped and looked down. It must have been 15 feet to the ground.
"No way," Lizzie said. She looked down. "We'll die!"
"But The Rocket's are coming," I said. "I'm jumping." I put Pikachu in my arms, and jumped. I fell through the air. In about four seconds I thudded on my ribs to the ground. I had dropped Pikachu about six feet up. I groaned and turned around. Pikachu was lying on the ground. It wasn't moving. Lizzie had jumped, too. About six police officers ran into the center. I knew Nurse Joy would be okay. "Come, on. I think this place is gonna blow. When I jumped, I realized some sort of bomb stuck to the wall."
Lizzie and I ran as fast as we could. Behind me, I heard an explosion. Lizzie and I turned. The Pokemon Center was in flames!
"Oh no," Lizzie murmured. She got teary and then sank to her knees. "Nurse Joy, and the officers -- they're all--"
Before she finished we saw four officers limp out of the Pokemon Center with Pokemon in the cage. We saw Nurse Joy walk out of the building. She came over to us. "Two of the officers are trapped," she said. "The Rockets got away."
"Is there anything we can do to help?" I asked.
"Lizzie, your Marill. You can use it to put out the flames. Woody. I don't know what you can do, but do whatever you think you can. We need all the help we can possibly get."
As Nurse Joy and Lizzie ran to the flaming center, I turned and saw a Noctowl flying overhead. It wasn't brown, like a normal one. It was gold, like Ash's, but it had green wings instead of orange ones.
"Pikachu, do you think that you can use Thunderbolt?" I asked.
Pikachu nodded. He jumped off of my head and shocked Noctowl. The Noctowl fell to the ground in an instant. I threw the Pokeball at it. The ball shook. Once. Twice. Three times. PING!
I picked up the Pokeball. "Okay Pikachu, we're going to help out those officers. Noctowl, come on out!"
Noctowl came out of its Pokeball. "Noctowl, fly over to the Pokemon Center and lift away all of those pipes that are blocking the officers' way out."
Noctowl flew over to the flaming center and got to work. Nurse Joy and Lizzie were amazed. Noctowl pulled flaming pipes off of the two officers. Marill would spray the fire around the pipes down.

The next day the two officers were in the hospital. One of them had a concussion and one of them had third degree burns on his arms. "Thanks to you, the officers are saved," Officer Jenny said to us. "We want you to have this." She handed us a box. In it was if course money, but also two papers. We took out the papers and sat the box down. "Those are legal files. If that mean guy -- whatever his name is -- from the orphanage tries to take you back, he can't. So you don't have to go back to the orphanage. We also want you to have these. Professor Weed wanted to give these to you."
She handed each of us a black Pokedex. "There are 251 Pokemon, and this has information on all of them -- except for Mewtwo. No one has seen the legendary Mewtwo in seven years, when Ash Ketchum found it."
I smiled. "Thanks Officer Jenny. Tell Prof. Weed that we said thanks and hi."
Lizzie nodded. "Oh, before I forget, someone wants to see you," Officer Jenny said.
Out of nowhere, Prof. Oak came out of the Pokemon Center. "Edward, Elizabeth--" he started.
"We go by Woody and Lizzie," I said. I looked at him and gasped. "Y- you're Professor Oak! The highest authority in Pokemon!"
He nodded. "That's right, Edward-- I mean Woody. And I'm here to tell you about the world of Pokemon. There are ten badges here in Kalo. Your first badge is in Rancher Village, for your Farmbadge. You go to the Kalo Pokemon League in Rediano City. I have a feeling that you and your Pokemon will go a long way."
"Thanks, Professor Oak," I said. "I'll remember that."
"Yeah," Lizzie said. "I guess we'll be on our way."
"Wait," Prof. Oak said. "How about before we leave, we have a battle. What do you say, kids? Are you up for the challenge?"
"I sure am," Lizzie said. She turned around and winked at me. "And I have a feeling that Woody is, too. Me first."
Prof. Oak took a Pokeball from his lab coat. "Ratatta, I pick you!"
"I choose you, Marill," Lizzie said. Marill jumped out from behind her. "Marill, Bubble."
Marill shot about five rock-hard bubbles out of her mouth. Ratatta easily jumped over them though and then used a hard Tackle. Marill fell to the ground and then Ratatta did a somersault in the air and attempted to land headfirst onto Marill. Marill rolled out of the way and Ratatta landed headfirst onto the ground.
"Ratatta, Bite attack," Professor Oak said. Ratatta bit down on Marill. Marill growled in pain and after about two seconds swung Ratatta by the tail and slingshot him about five feet.
"Marill, use Iron Tail!" Lizzie called to her tiny aquamouse.
Marill shot a blast of extremely cold water at Ratatta. Ratatta went rolling back about a foot. "Ratatta, Headbutt!" Professor Oak yelled. Marill got hit right in the chest. She bounced a couple of feet. Ratatta was about to finish her off with a Hyper Fang, but out of nowhere, Marill used Iron Tail and knocked Ratatta unconscious. Out cold.
"The winner is Lizzie," Officer Jenny said. She picked Marill up and handed it to Lizzie. Marill and Lizzie hugged.
I turned to Prof. Oak. "Your turn," he said. I nodded to Pikachu. Pikachu walked up to Prof. Oak. "Do it, Magby!"
(For those of you who don't know, Magby is the pre-evolved form of Magmar.)
"Begin!" Officer Jenny said blowing a whistle.
"Magby, use Ember," Prof. Oak said. Magby shot three tiny fireballs at Pikachu. Pikachu dodged them all and used Quick Attack. Magby flipped backwards in the air, and landed on one knee and one foot.
"Pikachu, Pika," Pikachu said. (I think I can beat him Woody.)
"I know you can do it Pikachu. Hit it with a Thunder Wave." Pikachu shot sparks at Magby, but Magby simply blocked it with his hand.
"Electric moves don't work on Magmar and Magby, because of the heat surrounding their bodies. Remember that when you're compeating for your Charcoal Badge. Magby, end this with a Fire Punch." Magby's fist glowed red, surrounded by a flame. He then punched Pikachu in the head.
Pikachu fell to the ground. "It looks like I win," Prof. Oak said.
"I don't think so, Professor," Officer Jenny said. Pikachu climbed to his feet.
"Tackle attack!" I yelled. Pikachu tackled Magby. "Now, finish him with a Thunderbolt." Pikachu let off a huge charge of electricity, shocking Magby. Magby didn't block it in time, and shook horribly before collapsing on the ground. Magby didn't move after three seconds. Officer Jenny blew her whistle.
"Magby, return," Prof. Oak said. "I'm impressed. You two deserve to be Pokemon trainers. I hope that you go far in the Pokemon League."
"But now, it's time to go to Rancher Village," Lizzie said to me. "If you want to win your badge, we need to go there."
"Aren't you going to try out for badges of your own, Lizzie?" Oak asked.
Lizzie shook her head. "I just want to be the first ever woman to capture every Pokemon in the world."
I snickered. "Hey, it could happen," Lizzie said.
"I doubt that," I muttered under my breath.
