The three of us walked down the road. We didn't expect much that day. But we got more than we bargained for.
As we came around a corner, a guy in a black suit with a black mask over his face ran down the street. "Oh, please help. Please, help!" a lady cried as the man ran down the street with a Pokeball in one hand and a purse in the other. "He stole my purse!" the lady cried.
"Hey, stop!" I called. The man turned and threw his Pokeball. A Flareon came out.
"Pikachu, use Thunder Jolt," I told Pikachu. Pikachu aimed a jolt of electricity at the ground. It bounced off of the ground and then hit Flareon.
"Flareon, Smokescreen!" the robber ordered. Flareon shot smoke out of his mouth. The smoke surrounded us.
"I'm on it!" Lizzie insisted. "I choose you, Butterfree." The pink Butterfree came out of her Pokeball. "Gust!" Butterfree flapped its wings hard and the smoke flew into the robber before he could get away. He coughed. Pikachu then used a Thundershock while Butterfree used Confusion. Pikachu hit the robber and Butterfree hit Flareon. Flareon fainted and the robber fell to the ground as the purse flew through the air. It was about to go over the bridge!
"Chikorita, use Vine Whip and catch the purse!" Willis cried, throwing Chikorita's Pokeball. Chikorita popped out and used Vine Whip. The purse was caught before it fell over the bridge. Chikorita lifted it up and handed it to the woman. She smiled.
"Okay, big finish!" I instructed. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt."
"Chikorita, Razor Leaf," Willis ordered.
"Butterfree, Twister," Lizzie told Butterfree. The Razor Leaf and Thunderbolt nailed Flareon. He went flying into the robber. They were caught in the Twister and went flying high into the air.
The woman smiled and walked over to us. "That was so impressive. Thank you. How can I ever repay you?"
"Well, it's getting dark and we need a place to stay," I told her. "If it's not too much trouble."
"Oh, sure. I haven't had company in ages. I'm Laurie. Here. My car is parked over there. You kids can get in if you want. I was just going to the store to get some milk and bread. Oh! I can cook a wonderful meal for you kids. Just wait right here."
We went to Laurie's house. She said we could sleep anywhere we wanted. We sat on the couch and watched TV as she cooked something that she had made herself.
Pikachu, Marill, and Chikorita played around in the basement. Lizzie bent over as I sat on the floor, watching TV.
"You really like wrestling," she said.
I nodded. Lizzie gave me a funny look. Almost as if she was afraid of me or sad. "Liz, what's up
Lizzie turned her head and gasped. The next thing I knew she passed out. "Lizzie, Lizzie!" I cried. I shook her. She opened her eyes, but didn't speak. "Elizabeth! Lizzie. Are you okay?"
Lizzie gasped again. She stared at me in horror. "I just had a... a vision! It was me and you walking down the street. Willis was lying on the ground dead and bombs were going off all over the place."
"What?" Willis and I asked in unison.
Lizzie shook her head. "I guess I'm just tired. Maybe I should skip dinner and go to sleep."

Lizzie had skipped dinner. I slept in my room. Pikachu slept on a pillow on the floor with a blanket over him. I opened my eyes and saw Lizzie standing over me. I was about to scream but Lizzie put a hand over my mouth. She flicked on a light and I saw she was crying. "I had another one of those visions," she said. "This time everyone in Kalo was dying. Can I sleep in here?"
"Uh ... sure," I said. Lizzie kissed me on the cheek and got into the bed. I was starting to worry about Lizzie. I thought she was going crazy.

Laurie cooked bacon, sausages, and eggs for breakfast. Lizzie came to the table late. She sat down but just stared at me with those scary eyes. I looked up from my plate and looked at her. She turned her head quickly.
Willis leaned next to me. "Woody, I like Lizzie and everything but ... she is insane! She's crazy, she's psycho. The chick needs help."
I leaned towards him. "I think she's still feeling the after effects of the mind control device that Cassandra put in her."
Willis took another look at Lizzie. She looked perfectly fine. I didn't know what her problem was...
"Okay, you guys can stay here for another night if you'd like," Laurie said.
"Thank you, Laurie," Willis said. "We should be back on the road tomorrow, anyway. The next gym is just a couple of miles away."
Laurie nodded. "There is a park down the street. It's Friday and a lot of kids go down to the park for battles on Friday afternoons."
"I haven't battled in a while," Willis said. "The last battle I've had was against Woody and that was three weeks ago. I really would like to go down to the park and see if anyone meets up to my challenge!"
We walked down to the park. Pikachu looked up at me with sparks coming from its cheeks. I could tell that it was ready to have a battle.
"Here's the park," Willis said. In a booming voice he issued his challenge. "Hey! If anyone wants to battle me, come on! I'm ready."
At first no one came, but then a girl threw her basketball to the ground and walked over to Willis. "I'll battle you. I haven't battled in a while, either."
Willis smiled and gave me a thumbs up. "Okay, first I choose Gloom!" Willis threw a Pokeball and a blue Pokemon with plants growing out of its head popped out of the ball.
"My name is Mekanna," the girl said. "And I choose as my Pokemon, Hitmontop!"
I checked my Pokedex. "Hitmontop. The Handstand Pokemon. Hitmontop spins on its head and uses kicks and dance steps to attack. This Pokemon is very rare."
"Hitmontop, use Triple Kick!" Mekanna ordered. Hitmontop did a handstand and then spun around -- kicking Gloom three times and then it hopped on its feet. Then it hit a Headbutt. Gloom flipped through the air and landed on her back.
"Gloom, use Tackle," Willis told his Pokemon. Gloom jumped into the air and came down on Hitmontop with a Tackle. Hitmontop flipped over but did stood on its head and then used a Dig Attack!
"Hitmontop, Dig!" Mekanna ordered. Hitmontop came up but Gloom rolled out of the way. Hitmontop was confused. It turned around and Gloom came at it with another Tackle. Hitmontop held its stomach where it was hit and then Gloom used Absorb.
Hitmontop glowed green and Gloom glowed white as little green pins shot at it. It was absorbing all of Hitmontop's power. Hitmontop looked weaker.
"Low Kick, Hitmontop," Mekanna said. Hitmontop slid across the ground and aimed a kick at Gloom. Gloom was hit and both Pokemon fell to the ground.
"Pikachu, Pikachu, Pika," Pikachu said to me. (Wow. This is a pretty good match.)
"I know," I said to Pikachu. Hitmontop tried to go for another Low Kick, but Gloom jumped over Hitmontop. Hitmontop was prepared, though. Instead of falling flat on its face, it did a handstand and used Double Kick. Gloom staggered around. Hitmontop then used Swift and sent Gloom flying into a tree.
"Come on, Gloom," Willis encouraged his Pokemon. "You can do it!"
Gloom slowly got to her feet. "Now, Hitmontop. Finish Gloom off with a Triple Kick attack!" Mekanna said. Hitmontop spun towards Gloom. It looked like Gloom was trapped.
"Perfect! Gloom, use a Mega Drain," Willis said. Gloom used Mega Drain. Hitmontop stopped spinning and fell flat on the ground. Hitmontop got up again. Gloom Tackled it Hitmontop flipped through the air, but did yet another handstand and prepared to come at Gloom with Triple Kick again. Gloom used Stun Spore but Hitmontop was spinning so fast, it created a Gust attack and the spores flew to the ground. That distracted Hitmontop and Gloom used Sleep Powder. Hitmontop started to close its eyes and staggered around. "Gloom, finish off Hitmontop with Pedal Dance!"
Pink rock hard pedals flew at Hitmontop. Hitmontop was struck and then he fainted.
"Good match," Mekanna said.
"I've still got it," Willis said, smiling. He shook Mekanna's hand. "Gloom, return. You deserve a rest."
"Return, Hitmontop," Mekanna said.
I was planning on having a battle with Mekanna and see if she had any other Pokemon that would battle Pikachu, but a purple beam of energy struck the ground in front of me. We all gasped and staggered backwards.
We all looked up and a pink catlike Pokemon was floating above us. "Mew," it chirped.
I took out my Pokedex. "Mew. Mew is an extremely rare Pokemon and there are said to only be three of them in the world. No further information is yet known about this Pokemon."
I looked up at Mew. It flew down beside me and chirped its name again. "Mew."
I patted Mew on the head. The tiny Pokemon put its head on my chest. I hugged it and then wondered why it was here. "Mew? Why are you here?" I asked.
Mew floated up to me. "Mew." I looked down at Pikachu.
"Pika," Pikachu said. (Mew is lonely.)
Mew just hovered in front of me, doing flips in the air. Willis was mouthing something to me. He was pointing to a Pokeball. He was mouthing,"capture it!"
I looked at Mew. It was now standing on the ground with its back turned to me. It looked at Pikachu. I took out my Pokeball and dropped it on Mew. Mew was sucked in to the ball.
The ball shook twice and Mew popped out. "Mew!" the Pokemon cried. It glared at me and shot a Confusion attack at me. The attack hit me in the chest. I fell to the ground.
"Pika, Pi!" Pikachu yelled. Pikachu used Thundershock and Mew blocked the attack and hit Pikachu with Swift.
Pikachu wasn't hurt badly and used Swift on Mew. "Pikachu, stop!" I yelled.
Pikachu was preparing for a Thunderbolt on Mew, but I grabbed it. "Sorry, Mew," I said to the Pokemon. Mew nodded to me. I thought Mew might want to come with us on our journey as maybe a wild Pokemon that didn't really belong to any of us, but a net dropped down on Mew!
"Ha ha ha!" two voices laughed. Willis and I looked up. Ray and Kio!
They were in their black uniforms in a big balloon shaped like a Geodude. "Hey, what are you doing?!" Mekanna demanded to the two men.
"That's Ray and Kio," I said. "They are part of an evil organization." I looked up in them in their Geodude balloon. "Where's Julius?!"
They didn't answer. They started to float up with Mew in the net. Mew wiggled around trying to get out of the net.
"We should help Mew," Willis said. "I choose, you Chikorita!" Willis threw Chikorita's Pokeball. Chikorita popped out.
"Good idea," Mekanna said. "We'll use our Pokemon to save Mew. I choose you, Azurill!"
I looked at Azurill. I then checked my Pokedex. "Azurill, the Aqua Mouse Pokemon. Azurill is the pre-evolved form of Marill and uses its tail to bounce, balance itself and as a balloon to slow itself from falling high distances. Azurill usually hang around Marill, Azumarill, and other water type Pokemon."
"Azurill, Water Gun!" Mekanna ordered.
"And Chikorita, I want you to use Razor Leaf," Willis said.
Azurill shot a powerful blast of water into the air and the leaves from Chikorita's Razor Leaf attack twisted around the Water Gun and were about to hit the net. The two attacks were blocked when a black figure flew through the air. The attacks hit the figure.
We gasped as the figure landed on the ground. It was a Pokemon I've never seen before.
"Meet, Sneasel," Kio said. Up close, Sneasel looked dark purple and it had wings like a dragonfly.
"Sneasel, Faint Attack!" Ray and Kio ordered. Sneasel vanished into thin air. Chikorita and Azurill looked around. Sneasel rushed at both of them from behind. The two Pokemon fell to the ground. Not hurt, but startled.
"Go, Noctowl!" I ordered. Noctowl flew out of its Pokeball. It knew it had to help Mew. It flew up to the net and used a Drill Peck. A small hole began to form. Chikorita and Azurill were busy on the ground trying to fight off Sneasel. Noctowl pecked at the net, again. It looked like the hole was about halfway big enough when Sneasel Slashed Azurill and used Faint Attack on Chikorita.
"Sneasel, go after that Noctowl with a Quick Attack!" Ray commanded.
Sneasel smashed into Noctowl. The owl went tumbling to the ground. It fell hard onto the playground slide. Noctowl rolled down the slide and flipped hard then landed on the grass.
"Noctowl!" I cried. I ran over to Noctowl. As I kneeled down beside it a bomb was dropped. I looked up and gasped as the bomb fell quickly towards me.
"Charmander, Flamethrower!" a voice commanded.
I turned and saw Lizzie and Charmander walking into the park. The Flamethrower hit the bomb. The bomb exploded before it hit me. I sighed a sigh of relief. Lizzie kneeled down next to me and hugged me. She then turned to Charmander. "Charmander, aim the Flamethrower at Sneasel!" The stream of fire hit Sneasel. Sneasel flew into the balloon.
"Now, use Ember on the top of the net and release Mew," Lizzie said. Charmander shot fire balls at the top of the net. The net looked like it would drop from the balloon, but instead Ray and Kio just laughed.
"Our net is fireproof," Kio said. It cannot be destroyed. "Go, Zubat!"
He threw a Pokeball and Zubat came out. Zubat Tackled Charmander. Charmander fell to the ground. Lizzie gasped as she knelt down and cradled Charmander in her arms. She took Butterfree's Pokeball out of her pocket and turned towards the balloon. But, the balloon was flying away with Mew in the net.
We went back to Laurie's house. Mekanna put her backpack on the ground. "We have to go in the backyard and talk," I said to Laurie. "If you don't mind, we may need to just stay one more night, and Mekanna needs to stay with us also. it's really important."
"Of course," Laurie said. "I love kids."
"Thank you," Mekanna said. "I would really appreciate it."
We let some of our Pokemon out in the backyard. Mekanna had Hitmontop, Azurill, Vulpix, and Ledyba.
"You have some pretty cool Pokemon," Lizzie said. "But, we have to find the Rocket secret hideout tomorrow and we'll need most of our Pokemon to battle them and get back Mew."
"We need to come up with a plan," Willis said. "Right now, we'll send out four Pokemon to look for the Rocket HQ. I have these minicams in my pocket. When the Pokemon sees the HQ, we record our data on our laptops and a picture will be automatically taken. It's pretty cool, actually."
"Okay, we'll send one underground, two in the air, and one should use Agility and run down the street to find the HQ," I said. "Lizzie, we'll use Butterfree and Noctowl to go in the air and find the HQ. Mekanna, we can use your Hitmontop to go underground and find it, and Pikachu's Agility is amazing. Pikachu can go out in the open and find the headquarters."
"Okay," Lizzie said, blankly. She just stared out into space.
Mekanna waved a hand in front of Lizzie's face. "Earth to Lizzie! Woody, what's wrong with your friend?"
"There's nothing wrong with me," Lizzie said. She turned back to Mekanna. "You should be thanking me! I saved your heads from being blown up."
"We thanked you already," Willis said.
Lizzie just sighed. "All we need is a focused plan. Okay. Noctowl and Butterfree should go now, because the sooner we save Mew, the better. Just put the minicams around their necks. Mekanna. Send out Hitmontop now. And Pikachu, go."
"Wait, Lizzie! We need to give them instructions. We can't save Mew that way," I said. "if anyone tried to capture you, Pikachu, I want you to use a Thunderbolt on them. Butterfree, if the same thing happens to you or Noctowl, both of you use Psybeam. And Hitmontop will be underground, but if anyone attacks you or tried to capture you somehow, use Rock Smash."
We strapped the small cameras around their necks and turned them on. Noctowl and Butterfree flew off, first. Very soon, Hitmontop used Dig and dug his way down beneath the ground. Pikachu left next.
We went back into the house. Laurie cooked pizza. We ate it and watched TV as we waited for the Pokemon to come back. "I'm getting worried," Willis said. "The Pokemon have been gone for half an hour. Okay. I'll turn on the laptop. That way, we can see through the cameras that the Pokemon are wearing."
"Awesome," Mekanna said. We looked at the laptop. It was divided into four sections. Two were looking down at a big black building. One was looking straight at the building.
The other camera was underground. "Okay, the Pokemon should be able to hear us if we turn the speaker on..."
Willis turned on the speaker. "Guys, can you hear me?"
All of the Pokemon replied by saying their name and then Noctowl and Butterfree flew down on the building.
"Nice pictures," I said. "Noctowl, Butterfree, you can come back now. We have a good description of what the back of the HQ looks like and what the top of it looks like."
Hitmontop rose out of the ground. "Hitmontop, Pikachu. We need you two to go inside of the building," Willis said.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked, looking at us through the screen of the laptop. (Are you crazy?)
"Pikachu is right," I said. "They might not ever come out!"
"As long as they stay together and watch each other's backs, they should be fine," Willis said. "We need to find, ---"
Before he finished, a woman in a black suit came out of the building. "Hey! You shouldn't be here! Ekans, go!"
The snake came out of an Ultra Ball, but before it could do anything, Pikachu ran away with Agility and Hitmontop used Dig, instantly.
"Okay, we'll make a plan," Mekanna said. "Tomorrow we'll all go to the HQ. It should take about fifteen minutes to get there. We'll have to find a way in, undetected."
"That'll be hard," Lizzie said. "In every Rocket HQ, they have cameras all over the place. We'd have to send in something to destroy the cameras, beforehand."
"I know a thing we could do," I said, smiling.
Everyone turned to me. "What is it?" Lizzie, Willis, and Mekanna all demanded in unison.
"The HQ has a lot of electricity. They would have to have electric to run all of those cameras -- if they don't spend all of their money buying stuff to steal Pokemon, clothes, food, stuff like that. They should have a circuit breaker, or an electricity box. Pikachu knows everything about electricity. He could find the wires and overload them with a Thunder Wave. That way, we could get inside there, find Mew and get out."
"It's a lot more complicated than that," Willis said. "However-- I think that would work. It's a great plan. But maybe they have like, an emergency electric power source. We have to make sure..."
"Listen Willis!" Lizzie cried. We all turned. Lizzie looked angry. "We need to take chances! You know that? So what if we get detected by ONE camera? We're supposed to fight! We're a team. All of us! We have our Pokemon to protect us, and we can protect our Pokemon. Now, I don't know about you guys, but first thing tomorrow, we're gonna get up, and we're gonna save Mew! It has to be around 4:00. We can't wake up Laurie, or anyone else for that matter. I'm going to sleep early so I can get some rest, and wake up early! Now, are you guys coming with me and taking a chance, or not?!"
She looked at all of us. Mekanna nodded first. "I'm in."
"So am I," I said.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said. (You can count me in too.)
We all looked at Willis. He thought about it for about a minute, and then he finally said, "I'm coming with you. Count me in."
Laurie was sound asleep in her room. She usually didn't even wake up until 10:00. Mekanna and Lizzie slept in the same room. Pikachu laid at the foot of the bed. The alarm went off at about 3:50. I awoke, slowly. Pikachu quickly turned it off so Laurie wouldn't hear it and wake up. I then heard the two other alarms go off about five minutes later. I pulled on my shoes since I was already dressed. "Pikachu, go and wake up Lizzie and Mekanna. I'll go wake up Willis."
Willis's room was further down the hall. Pikachu ran into the girls' bedroom. I opened Willis's door. "Are you ready?" I asked.
Willis sat up in bed. "I can't. I can't go with you. Something just won't feel right. I'm not coming."
I stared at Willis in shock. "Watchu talkin about Willis?"
