Shocked, I backed out of Willis's room. He had said that he couldn't come with us to save Mew. I told the others.
"What do you mean he's not coming?" Mekanna asked. "He doesn't like me, does he?"
I hugged Mekanna. "It has nothing to do with you Mekky," I said to her. "You had a great match, but he's no jerk. Lizzie, you and I will just have to rescue Mew ourselves. "You remember our plan? Pikachu uses Thunder Wave on the wire for the cameras to overload it. We climb in through the air vents. You go one way. Lizzie goes another, and so do I. Have one Pokemon ready, but it has to be small so it can fit in the vents."
"Got it," Lizzie and Mekanna said at the same time. Lizzie then went back into Willis's room. "Willis, are you sure you don't want to come?"
Willis turned to her. "I can't. And besides, it's starting to rain. You'd better wear hats and jackets."
We ran through the rain, all the way to the Rocket HQ. I immediately found the electricity box.
"Pikachu, can you detect the wire that controls the camera?" I asked. Pikachu sniffed and pawed at the wires and then he pulled at a blue one. He used a Thunder Wave. The wire fumed with smoke and burned to a crisp. I slapped Pikachu a low-five and I looked at the ladder on the side of the building, leading up to an air vent. "Okay, do we all have a Pokemon that can protect us when we're inside here? A small one that can fit in the air vents."
Lizzie had Marill and Mekanna had Azurill. I climbed up the ladder first. Mekanna was close behind and Lizzie was right behind her. Pikachu clinged onto my shirt. I pulled open the vent and we all climbed in, cautiously.
"It's way too quiet," Mekanna said. "This is too easy. I'm sure that there are a lot of Rockets around here somewhere."
We came to a wide space in the vent where there were 3 paths. One going straight, one going to the left, and one going up. "Okay, here are our walkie talkies," I said. "I'll take the straight side. Lizzie, you go up and Mekanna, you take left." I handed each one of them a walkie talkie, and then realized something. My fly was down.
I zipped it up and crawled through the vent. Pikachu sat on my head. I kept crawling and then I looked down. There was an opening towards the ground. It looked like some sort of lab. I pulled off the vent and stared down. No one was in there. A dim light was on. Well duh, it was like, 4:10 in the morning. I jumped down and landed on my elbows and knees. I went to the closet door and opened it. Mew wasn't there. "Nothing here, Pikachu. Let's go. There might be somebody here. Remember, be really quiet."
We tip toed through the dark hallway. I stopped outside of one door when I heard a mocement. "No, set it down over here!" a voice said. I heard steel hitting the concrete floor. I peeked into the door. It was Ray and Kio! They had Sneasel and Geodude helping them move cages around. I saw a Psyduck and a Poliwhirl in the cages, but not Mew.
I let Scyther out of my Pokeball. "Okay, NOW, SLASH ATTACK!"
Ray and Kio were shocked as Scyther rushed into the room and slashed Sneasel. Sneasel was knocked out instantly. Scyther did the same to Geodude. Geodude flew into Kio. Kio fell hard through a desk. Pikachu used Thunderbolt on Ray and then Scyther slashed the cages. Poliwhirl and Psyduck were free. They instantly ran away, frightened.
But Sneasel was back up. Pikachu and Sneasel had an ld rivalry to settle. "Okay, this is it! Pikachu, Tackle." Pikachu tackled Sneasel.
Sneasel used Faint Attack. It vanished into thin air and then slammed into Pikachu. Pikachu rolled over and got up. "Thundershock!" Pikachu used Thundershock and zapped Sneasel right out of the air. Sneaselfell onto the desk and slowly got up. Pikachu angrily shot electricity from his cheeks. Pikachu was surrounded by electricity and used Quick Attack on Sneasel.
I took out my Pokedex. "Thunder Quick Attack. This is a move that only Pikachu and Raichu can learn."
The attack knocked Sneasel out. I hugged Pikachu. "Good job. Let's go. We still hafta find Mew."
Mekanna and Azurill crawled through an air vent and looked down to see two rockets with a cloth over a huge cage. The cage looked about the size that held Mew. Mekanna looked forward and realized that she was at a dead end. She'd have to fight the Rockets and walk the rest of the way unless she found Mew instantly. "Okay, Azurill, you and Hitmontop are going to fight the Rockets. We'll grab Mew, or whatever Pokemon is in the cage and run for it. Got it, buddy?"
Azurill nodded to Mekanna. Mekanna opened the air vent and jumped down onto the floor. The Rockets turned. "Let go of that cage!" a Rocket said when Mekanna pulled at the cloth. The cloth slid off and inside wasn't Mew. It was two Oddish's.
The Rockets each took out a Pokeball. Azurill stood in front of Mekanna and Mekanna had a Pokeball. "Houndour, I choose you," Rocket 1 said.
"Go, Drowzee," Rocket 2 commanded.
"Hitmontop, Azurill, let's do it!" Mekanna cried, tossing Hitmontop's Pokeball into the air.
Hitmontop spun on its head and kicked both Drowzee and Houndour. "Drowzee, Confusion," Rocket 2 ordered. Drowzee rose its hands into the air. Hitmontop flew up to the ceiling and crashed back onto the floor. Drowzee did this again. He prepared to do it a third time, but Azurill used Tackle. Drowzee stumbled backwards.
"Houndour, Ember," Rocket 1 told his Pokemon. Tiny fireballs hit Hitmontop and Azurill. Azurill got up quickly and used Bubblebeam.
"That's it, Azurill! Now use another Bubblebeam!" The two streams of rock hard exploding bubbles hit Houndour again. Houndour was knocked out. Hitmontop jumped up and nailed Drowzee with a Flying Kick. Drowzee was knocked hard into the Rockets. They were sprawled out on the ground. Hitmontop used Quick Attack on a boom shelf. The shelf fell hard onto the Rockets, Houndour and Drowzee.
"Good job," Mekanna complemented. "Hitmontop, use a Double Kick on the cage to free the Oddish's." Hitmontop kicked the cage twice. The Oddish wasted no time. They used Stun Spore on the Rockets. The Rockets yelled in pain. Both of the Oddish's jumped high into the air vent and ran.
Mekanna pulled open the door after returning Hitmontop. Azurill stayed by her side as they walked down the hallway.
Lizzie and Marill had also reached a dead end. They looked down and saw a bunch of covered cages. The Pokemon inside were making sounds. Lizzie pulled open the vent. Marill jumped down first and then Lizzie. Lizzie looked around and pulled off all the cloths on the cages, and gasped.
Pikachu and I ran down the hall and then came to a final door. Slowly, I opened it. A blast of water nailed me hard. I fell flat on my butt. Lizzie saw it was me and giggled. "Sorry Woody. But look what I found." She showed me the cages. There were six, and they were glass. Psychic Pokemon were floating in them. The first one was an Abra. The second one was an Alakzazam. The third one was Mew! I smiled and walked over to Mew's cage, when I realized the fourth one. Inside it was a Pokemon I had never seen before. The other two cages were empty. The Pokemon in the fourth cage looked like a big brown dog. It had red tips and huge paws.
I took out my Pokedex. "Entei, the--"
Before my Pokedex could finish, a bullet almost hit it. I turned and saw Julius! He had Sneasel right next to him and on his other side was a Grimer. "Touch those cages and die!" he said, raising the gun towards us. I gulped. Lizzie stepped back, but I stood my ground.
"You don't scare me, Julius," I said. "Put the gun down before you do something you will regret. Now."
Julius just put his finger on the trigger. He prepared to shoot, when he was struck from behind. Mekanna had punched him in the back of the neck. He just turned around and smiled at her. "Foolish kids. You honestly think that you can defeat me with a simple slap on the neck?"
He put the gun about three inches away from Mekanna's face, but he was again struck from behind. This time by a Razor Leaf attack. The impact knocked Julius to the ground. Willis stood over him with Chikorita a couple of feet behind. "Willis!" Mekanna, Lizzie, and I cried happily.
Julius pulled the trigger and shot Mekanna in the leg. Mekanna screamed in pain as she fell to her knees. Sneasel then prepared to use Faint Attack on the fallen Mekanna, but Chikorita used a Tackle.
"Chikorita, Vine Whip!" Willis commanded. Chikorita sent Sneasel flying. Grimer used Sludge Bomb on Chikorita. Chikorita fell to her side and then Grimer used Smokescreen.
I coughed. "Noctowl, go!"
Noctowl popped out of the ball and used Gust. The smoke got out of the room, but Julius was making a run for it. He had Mew tucked under his arm! "Oh, no," Lizzie said. "Mekanna is hurt."
"There is a window right there," Willis said. "Lizzie, get Mekanna out the window. Find a hospital or an ER to take her to. Woody and I have this covered. Go!"
Mekanna and Lizzie escaped out of the window with Azurill and Marill following close behind. I looked around. "I have a plan," I said. "We have to bust open the cages and get the Pokemon out and help us."
Willis nodded. "Chikorita use Vine Whip on that cage!"
Chikorita whipped the glass cage with a vine whip. The one that contained Kadabra. The glass cracked and then the cage pieces fell to the ground. Pikachu used a Thunderbolt. The cages containing Abra and Entei exploded. "Okay, we'll need your help. The guy that did this to you is getting away with Mew," I said. "Will you guys help?"
Abra, Kadabra, and Entei nodded. Abra teleported about every 5 feet instead of walking. Kadabra floated quickly and Willis ran. I turned to Entei. It got onto the ground. I climbed on top of it. Entei raced down the halls. We passed Willis and the Psychic Pokemon. Pikachu stood on Entei's head and Noctowl flew over us as we charged right through a wall! I looked up and saw Julius throwing bombs out of a hot air balloon. They hit the building. The building caught fire.
Entei looked up. "Pikachu, Noctowl, go after Julius!" I cried. Pikachu jumped off of Entei as Noctowl flew right by. The two Pokemon were right in front of the balloon. Pikachu prepared to use Thundershock and Noctowl was about to use Confusion, but Sneasel charged out of the balloon and knocked Pikachu right out of the sky.
"Pikaaaaaaaa!" Pikachu cried. (Translation: Pikaaaaaaaa!)
I jumped off of Entei and caught Pikachu, but I hurt my head in the process. It bumped against a tree and I fell to my knees with blood trickling from my forehead. Sneasel took out Alakazam and Abra. Entei, Chikorita, and Noctowl were left to face Sneasel. In the meantime, Julius untied his balloon and started to float away. I struggled to stay conscious.
Sneasel and Chikorita fought, with Chiorita eventually getting knocked out.
Noctowl used a Psybeam, but Sneasel dodged it, quickly. Noctowl and Sneasel tackled each other in the sky several times. Eventually, Noctowl was also knocked out and that left Entei.
"Hah! And Sneasel didn't even break a sweat!" Julius yelled from in the sky.
That enraged Entei. Entei's eyes glowed white and i started growling.
"What's happening?" Willis asked aloud. Entei roared and each time he did this, a wave of fire rushed towards Sneasel.
Sneasel was eventually caught in a tornado of flames. "Hey, what the heck is going on here?!" Julius cried. Sneasel twisted around in the fire and then the tornado of fire dissapeared. Sneasel fell from the sky with burns all over him. Entei then used a Quick Attack. Sneasel flew into the balloon.
"Chikorita, use Vine Whip and grab Mew!" Willis ordered. Chikorita shot vines out of her body and wrapped them around Mew. Mew flew out of the balloon.
Entei then shot another Fire Spin towards the balloon. Julius yelled as the balloon flipped through the air on fire. I saw the balloon exploded in a brilliant flash of white light and then I passed out.
When I woke up, Mekanna was standing over me. She smiled. "You okay?" she asked, laughing.
"I'm okay," I said. "I guess. What about your leg?"
Mekanna backed up and I saw she was on crutches. She had a brace wrapped around her thigh where she got shot. I had a bandage on my cheek. "You should rest," Mekanna said. "You have a concussion. If you don't rest, it could really hurt you."
I nodded. A doctor came into my room. "Edward, --"
"Woody," I corrected.
"Sorry," he said. "Woody, I'm Dr. Zen. You suffered a concussion when you bumped your head against a tree. You should spend a nigh or two here and you'll be ready to go."
"Thanks," I said.
"But there is a policeman here that wants to question you."
I answered some questions about the accident for Officer Jenny. I gave her a discription of Ray, Kio, and Julius. She then left. Willis came into my room. "You're a lucky guy," he said. "You're famous, now."
I laughed. "So are you, Lizzie, and Mekanna," I said.
"Yeah, but you saved Entei and found out where Mew was," Willis said. "I just stood by and watched while Entei and Chikorita did all the work."
"Hey, where are Mew and Entei, anyway?" I asked.
"Entei ran off right after he got rid of Julius and Sneasel. I have no idea where Mew is. It was behind me when we got you to the hospital. It never came in and I guess it just decided it was time to go."
"Cool," I said. "I respect that. I should get rest. I'm starting to feel a little pain already. Seeya in the morning."
In the middle of the night when I woke up and faced my window, I saw Mew staring at me. I smiled and Mew waved at me. It then glowed white and vanished into the night. Smiling, I fell asleep.
