Disclaimer: Denny here. I’ve so far gotten 31 reviews. Zero for my fanart, two for my Ash Ketchum: Digidestined!? story, eighteen for A Night to Remember, and eleven for Markus’ Adventure. So far so good. Well, there are a few changes in store for you in this episode. And you’ll notice some cool changes in the storyline and in some parts. Enjoy the tweaked and distinctive stuff in Markus’ Adventure.

Misty: Hi, Misty here. Recently, Markus and his friends traveled here to Cerulean, not only to see me, but Team Rocket, as well. Richie accompanied us, but Team Rocket foiled the trainers’ hopes of battling me. Although all of their starter Pokémon evolved to Wartortle, Ivysaur, Charmeleon, and Flaroz, they were still no match for Team Rocket’s super powerful Pokémon. The trainers were sent to the hospital. It’s all up to fate now.

The End of Markus?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“…Okay…” the doctor started.

Richie and Misty sighed with relief, and even in their voices, anyone can tell that was relief.

“However,” he stated. Richie and Misty tensed up again. “The boy named Markus has already suffered head trauma in Pewter City. It was only two days ago when this happened. He still hasn’t recuperated. He may die.”

Carla struggled and started to move again, as well as John and Caley. However, Markus didn’t budge. He stood there, asleep, his fist clenched with determination, as if he were still hoping to live.

Carla moaned and groaned in pain.

“Poli…wag!” Poliwag waddled with its two little legs to Carla’s hospital bed.

“What happened?” Carla asked. “Where am I?”

“Well, you’re in the hospital Ms.…uh…” He looked at Carla’s clipboard in the front of her hospital bed. “Carla Swallows. Cerulean General. Your Pokémon are doing fine. As for Markus, I don’t think he’ll live.”

She barely got up. “No…ow…Markus is one of the most…ugh…determined and courageous…oh the pain…people I know…I can tell because I lo—.” She froze. She noticed Caley was getting up gradually. He moaned and groaned as the pain hurt all over his body. Flaroz and Geodude carefully walked up to his hospital bed.

“Flaroz, Geodude, you're all right!” Caley whispered, his voice cracking, hugging his two Pokémon. Markus was still in his bed, out cold. “How’s John?”

Somehow, his voice seemed to wake John. He got out of his bed, as if he were unfazed. Misty and Richie were crying tears of joy. Mostly all of the trainers were waking up, that is, all of them, except Markus. John’s Wartortle, Beedrill, Zubat, and Mankey ran to John’s hospital bed. “How’s Markus?” he asked.

“He may die. But, there may be a way to save his life,” the doctor answered.

“How?” Caley, Carla, and John asked together.

“You only have about one hour to get petals from a Gloom’s Petal Dance. Mixed with water, a little heat, and some determination from friends like you, Markus’ head trauma and temperature trouble will be a thing of the past. Therefore, that will take nearly fifteen minutes, so, you really have about forty-five minutes! You guys better go.”

“Fine. Let’s go guys!” Caley said.

“We’ll join you,” Misty said. “It’s bad enough I’m in the hospital. But timed to save a life? That’s ridiculous! You better go with me. I have a few bicycles we can use. My sisters’ bikes can help us.”

“Gee, thanks Misty!” the trio of trainers thanked gratefully. They ran out of Cerulean General and headed straight for the gym.

“But that doesn’t mean we’ll go easy on you in the gym match!” Carla responded. John just blushed. He likes Misty and maybe may like Carla a little tiny bit.

“Let’s go!” Misty shouted, very determined. She pedaled as fast as she can to the nearest forest.

“Misty, slow down! My bikini zone’s chafing! {Got that from The Simpsons: Hit and Run” Carla shouted. She was pedaling fast. Too fast, if you ask me.

“Gloom-Gloom!” said a Gloom.

“Yes, a Gloom! Go, Flaroz!” Caley yelled.

“Make sure it uses a Petal Dance!” warned Carla. “We only have twenty minutes left to get there!”

“Got it. Flaroz, Flamethrower, now!” Caley ordered.

Flaroz fired a huge stream of fire at Gloom. It dodged it swiftly without breaking a sweat. “Glooom!” Gloom yelled. It spewed toxic spores at Flaroz.

“Oh no, a Poisonpowder attack! Flaroz, dodge it, now! Then Flamethrower!” Caley barked.

“Flare…Oz!” Flaroz yelled. “Flare!” It then grinned. It pointed to something over in a tree. Gloom looked there, and Flaroz swiped it with one of its sharp claws.

“Good job! Nice Feint Attack!” Caley praised his Flaroz. Flaroz gave it a claw up and jumped in midair. The sun shone right on its flaming orange body with little stones and a small volcano. It slammed into the ground with its claws. Nothing happened, except that Gloom got furious. It released a ton of petals at Flaroz.

“The Petal Dance! John, grab the petals!” Carla commanded John. John ran in, took out a plastic bag and put the small petals in the small bag.

“Just enough! Let’s go Caley!” John yelled.

“You guys go to the hospital! I’ll catch the Gloom!”

“Suit yourself. Good luck Caley!” said Carla. She winked at him and ran off, her hair blowing in the breeze.

“She’s cute. Anyway, Flaroz, Fire Claw now!” Caley barked. Flaroz scratched its head. Caley fell on the ground. “I guess you haven’t learned that attack yet. Oh well. Then, use Tail Slap!”

Flaroz’s mighty pointy tail slammed into Gloom’s body and hurt it seriously. Gloom ran to a dark spot near a bush and spewed out more toxic spores.

“Ugh, another Poisonpowder!” Caley groaned.

Meanwhile, the other trainers got on Misty’s bikes and pedaled out towards Cerulean General. Fifteen minutes to go. They made it to the lobby and Misty took the bikes back home. “Take care,” she said to the duo.

“You too, Misty,” Carla and John replied. They entered the room they were in and saw Markus still in that same position, with his clenched fist. The doctor sighed with relief and asked for the bag of Gloom Petals.

“John, give him the petals. John? John!” Carla screeched.

“Well, um, let’s see. Ah, here we are.” As soon as John said that, haze filled the room.

“Pidgey, get out and use a Gust attack!” Carla ordered, throwing Pidgey’s Pokéball. The haze immediately disappeared, and the three stooges, Jessie, James, and Meowth, Wobbuffet saluting and Seviper being returned were standing in the doorway. James was holding his trusty rose.

“Prepare for trouble!”

“And make it double!”

“Not again…” said Misty.

“You know Team Rocket?” Carla asked.

“It’s a loooong story,” Misty replied.

Who’s That Pokémon?

This is the heaviest Pokémon up to date!

“You insolent twerps! How dare you stop us from saying our motto!” Jessie barked.

“We already know it,” said the gang in unison.

Meanwhile, back in the forest, Caley was having a tough time catching that Gloom.

“Flaroz, use Flamethrower!” Caley ordered. Flaroz spewed out a jet of flames and Gloom dodged it like a ballerina. Gloom ran to Flaroz and drooled on top of it. Flaroz got confused. “Flaroz, return! Geodude, it is all up to you!”

“Geo…geo-geo dude!” said Geodude.

“Geodude, use Rock Throw, now!” Geodude threw a ton of rocks at Gloom and Gloom was unfazed by each boulder.

“Gloom!” Gloom yelled. It spewed out more toxic fumes and Geodude was also unfazed. All Poison-type attacks are no good against Rock and Steel type Pokémon, said Caley’s PokéComp.

“That’s a relief. Geodude, Mega Punch NOW!” Caley ordered. Geodude took out its arms and punched Gloom right in the chest. Gloom was sent flying. “You’re all mine, Pokéball, go!”

The Pokéball was thrown and Gloom was trapped in it. After two seconds, Gloom was back out again, panting heavily.

“Geodude, use Mega Punch one last time!” Caley ordered his Geodude. Geodude punched Gloom- hard. Gloom was sent flying and banged itself into a big fat oak tree. Little swirls replaced its curved, closed eyes. It was time.

“Pokéball, go! Ha-humph!” Caley shouted. The red and white Pokéball bonked Gloom on its noggin and it shook for a while.

“Seviper, get the twerps’ Pokémon with your Haze attack!”

”Se-viper!” Seviper spewed out more toxic fumes. Pidgey coughed too much and fainted.

“Oh no! The petals! I’ve got to save them!” John worried. The haze cleared. The bag containing the petals was gone! There were only eight minutes left to create the concoction to save Markus.

“This is bad,” said John. “We need those- hey! I’ll call Caley!”

“That’s not a bad idea, John! That’s the best idea you’ve had since that incident with the Growlithe!”

“Carla!” John barked. “Don’t mention the Growlithe incident.”

“Looks like we’ll be taking that, twerps! See you never!” Wobbu-wobbu! “Get back in your Pokéball!”

“Mankey, go! Karate Chop attack!” John yelled, throwing Mankey’s Pokéball.

“Man…key!” yelled the pig monkey. It jumped in the air and smashed the bag into bits. The petals fell and they were placed into another plastic bag. Markus was going to be saved.

“Oh boy.”

“MANNNNNNNNKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYY!” yelled Mankey. It was on a rampage. It kept fighting and then, it glowed.

“No way!” Carla yelled.

“Inconceivable!” John said in awe.

Mankey evolved into a bigger Pokémon with collars on its arms and legs and was furrier than before. Its attitude was much worse, but it was John’s coolest looking Pokémon now.

“Primeape!” yelled the newly evolved form.

“Primeape? Sweet. Let’s see what the Pokédex has to say.

{Primeape: The Pig Monkey Pokémon}
{Primeape are one of the most dangerous Pokémon known ever to walk the planet. They are gentle creatures near their trainers if taken care of like a fist-fighting Pokémon, but sometimes, they have a tendency and may go on a rampage to nearly send its trainer into a coma.}

“Oh, boy, this is going to be one mad Pokémon,” said John. “Karate Chop, now! Then, use a Seismic Toss!”

And to John’s bolt from the blue, Primeape actually did what it was told. It hurt Team Rocket, grabbed them all in one bundle and swung them all the way to the sky.

“Put the petals to the metal is not what I had in mind Jessie!” James complained.

“Shut up, James.” Then they all said in unison, “Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off again! Wobbu!”

“We did it Primeape!”

Primeape ran to its trainer and hugged him.

“Looks like this Primeape is a nice and gentle one,” Carla said with a smile. Primeape heard that and embraced in a group hug.

”The petals,” said the doctor solemnly.

John walked up to the doctor and gave him the petals. The doctor then asked for some water.

“Poliwag, let’s go!” said Carla.

“Poli-wag-wag!” said Poliwag.

“Use a Water Gun to fill up at least half a bowl.” Poliwag jumped on the counter and spewed out a small, narrow jet of water. It looked like a fountain. The kids and doctor laughed a little.

“We need a little ember to heat up the bowl.”

“Charmeleon, use an Ember attack to light a flame!” said Carla. Charmeleon spewed out some flames and the bowl heated up. The doctor took out a spoon and stirred for a few minutes.

“Okay, so, let Markus drink this. I’ll put this concoction in his Intervene Bag.” The doctor filled up the bag and they head off to the Pokémon Center to get some lunch. But, to their surprise, Misty was standing at the doorway, toothpick in her mouth.

“Hi guys. I’ve been expecting you. Follow me to my gym,” Misty said. The trio started to walk, until they heard a buzzing noise. Beedrill were flying towards the gang because of a fume problem. They soon rid of the stench and noticed the trio as their target.

“Primeape, get in there!” John said, throwing Primeape’s Pokéball. The pig monkey came back out again, but this time, it was asleep. “Primeape! Wake up!” Normally, Pokémon need to rest for a while to regain their energy to battle. Until then, they are weak and are unable to battle. John Rodrick, please choose another Pokémon.

“Rodrick? That’s a funny last name. John Rodrick,” Carla teased in singsong.

“You know, if you taunt someone more than another, it means you like that particular person. I know. I’m going through it with…oh never mind. Oh, and Richie left me this.” She unfolded a piece of paper.

Misty, Markus, Carla, John, and Caley.

Although my business was taken care of, I need to leave now. I have to go and train some more. That side quest I had was only just a temporary one, for at least a day or two. However, it was nearly three days. So, I left. Guys, I left some money in this note for you. It can provide about a week’s worth of groceries and medicine. Good luck on your journeys, guys. I’m just a PokéComp call away. Just look for Richie. Okay? See ya.

Richie.

“Where’s the money?” Carla asked. The money fell out of the note. “Oh. I didn’t see the paper clip there.” She smiled Mareepishly. {as in sheepishly…lol}

The trio ran and soon, a Gloom emerged, releasing spores of blue powder. The Beedrill were out like a light. Caley stood near a tree, returning Gloom.

“You caught the Gloom?” John asked. Caley responded with a nod. Then, a huge Pokémon appeared from the sky. It was a Pidgeot, with the doctor and who else other than…

“MARKUS!” the gang screamed. Their screech was as loud as a Golbat’s Screech attack. Markus gave a warm smile and hugged Carla.

“I was in danger. If it weren’t for you, I would’ve died. Thanks.” He was about to peck Carla, until he heard a song sang by none other than Caley and John.

“Carla and Markus sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G,” they sang. Then, Misty walked up to them and said, “Since you’re all here, why don’t we have our gym battle? Markus, you and I can battle first.”

Markus had his fist clenched, his determination set, and his Pokémon ready for battle. He was willing to fight and was determined to win. He nodded and walked to a nearby lake. Caley was the judge.

“Battle Number One: Misty Versus Markus. This match is for the Cascade Badge and whoever wins, whether it be Misty or Markus, the next trainer will battle her. Each match will be a one-on-one battle. Let Battle One BEGIN! Markus, call it. Heads or tails?”

“Tails.”

The coin was flipped and it landed on heads. Markus had to choose his Pokémon first. ‘Hmm…’ he thought. ‘Furret, Ivysaur, Lombre, or Butterfree against a random opponent; this will be difficult. I got it! Lombre will be good because it can swim and unleash great moves like its Nature Power attack.’ “Lombre, go!”

“I thought as much. Poli…” then a light emerged from Misty’s backpack. It was Psyduck! “Psyduck!” she groaned, slapping her forehead in embarrassment. She took her Pokéball and returned it. “Return…sorry about that. Go, Politoed!” A greenish frog appeared from Misty’s spherical Pokéball and croaked. Its curled strand of hair was at the top and its yellow hands clapped to its own croaking. It was angry and looked determined to win.

‘This is going to be a tough match,’ Markus thought; sweat beaming down from his cheeks. He grabbed a sweatband from his pocket and wiped some sweat from his forehead. He then put it on his left wrist. He looked at Carla and John reading a story called “New Beginnings” by Misty101803. They thought it was very interesting. Markus just got annoyed, but mainly focused on Misty’s Politoed. “Lombre, dive in the water! NOW!”

Lombre nodded and it quickly dived in before Politoed can even make a move. Politoed looked nervous. “Poli Toed Politoed!” it quivered. It then looked angrier and its eyes looked meaner. Misty was synchronized in that matter, as well. She clenched her fist, and gritted her nice, clean teeth with hate and anger. Her knuckles cracked as she slammed them into each fist. Nobody knew why she was so upset.

"O…k,” Markus said, sweat trickling down his cheeks, frozen stiff. He barely moved a muscle. Carla now took out another story called BadgeQuest, by Cyberwraith Nine. John was still finishing “New Beginnings” though. Lombre was waiting for a command from its trainer, but was worried and swam up. Politoed knew it was coming and waited for Misty’s command.

“WATER GUN NOW!” Misty yelled. Politoed spewed out a humongous jet of water at Lombre. Lombre barely missed the attack, but took some damage. It was okay, though. Misty was just angrier. She took out the picture she showed the gang a while back and got really angry. “POLITOED, NEXT TIME HIT LOMBRE!” Politoed sweat dropped and looked bleak. It looked grumpy and then shook it off by diving in the water. Lombre was busy swimming; it forgot that it was in a battlefield. “DOUBLESLAP!” Misty ordered. Politoed took out one hand and swam at full speed to Markus’ Lombre and slapped it four times consecutively. Lombre was hurt badly and was angered up. It swam to Politoed and executed a Fury Swipes attack and hurt Politoed with equal force. Politoed shook it off with some water, then dived back in.

Markus, on the other hand, was looking at Misty awkwardly. ‘Why would Misty be so mad? I mean, before I was sent to Cerulean General, she was sweet and kind-hearted. Why the heck is she yelling with rage?’ he thought, tilting his head in a forty-five degree angle. He then regained his composure and ordered Lombre to use a Mega Drain attack. An orb of sunlit energy appeared and sapped some of Politoed’s strength. Misty looked at the picture and then, like Dr. Nanba from the TV series, she yelled with rage and Politoed was angrier. Markus just didn’t have a clue on what was going on. Caley was waiting patiently for another attack. Gloom, Flaroz, and Geodude were playing with Caley’s deck of cards.

“Flaroz, Flare oz, Flare!” I raise you fifty.

“Geo, dude dude du geo geo dude dude du.” Okay, Flarey. You is goin’ down. My hand wills beatcha.

“Gloom Go Gloom Gloom.” You don’t wanna play your cards witcho family.

They were all playing poker, and Flaroz was winning with 93 pellets of Poké-Chow. Gloom was in second with 48, and Geodude only has 17.

John and Carla’s Pokémon were all playing Man Hunt. Zubat, Pidgey, and Beedrill were all on one team, and Charmeleon, Wartortle, Primeape, and Poliwag were all on another. Of course, all Pokémon were unable to use any speed or aerial attacks, or that will be considered cheating.

Carla finished “BadgeQuest” and John finished “New Beginnings”. They looked at Markus and started cheering him on.

I wish my friends were here, cheering me on. I just wish my sisters didn’t call me when they went on that trip around the world. Misty sighed. I just wish none of this ever happened. “Politoed, Water Gun!”

Markus shook his head in disbelief. Why is she sad now? Just two seconds ago, she was yelling like a herd of Tauros stampeding toward a steel wall. She has a weird personality. Oh well. “Lombre, dodge it!” Lombre dodged just in the knick of time. “Now, use Nature Power!” Lombre nodded and used the power of nature to execute a Swift attack. Politoed felt the stars in its belly, pounding it like bricks.

“Politoed,” she sighed, “use Doubleslap.” She shrugged and Politoed slowly swam to Lombre, giving Lombre a perfect chance to attack with a Mega Drain.

“Mega Drain!” Markus commanded. Misty knew that Markus would do it, so she gained focus and then pointed her finger at Markus.

“Ha, I knew you would do such a thing! Politoed, use…” she then hesitated. She was getting more and more into a deeper and deeper trance. If Markus and his friends are on a journey, would they go to the Hoenn region? Then, I can meet up with Ashy-poo. Wait, did I just say Ashy-poo? That’s just wrong. “Politoed, return!”

“Misty, wh-what are you doing?! We’re in a battle for Mewtwo’s sake!” Markus yelled. Misty then looked sadder. Even more solemn, as if she wanted to cry. Then, it happened. “Ash! Why did you leave me-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-eeeeee?”

“Now that’s just wrong,” said Carla. “Looks like Misty’s not in the mood to battle. Return, guys.”

“Wait, you’re just leave-leave-leaving? Well, can I join?”

The gang just gasped in disbelief.

“Well, well, we do have four people on our team, but five? That’s just too much! We hardly have funding! We’ll need to buy food…”

“Well, that’s where you’re…” Misty stopped and thought again. What the heck am I doing? I shouldn’t join them! I have a gym to run!

“Like, Misty. Like, we’re back from our like, so totally awesome trip around the like, world!” said Daisy, one of Misty’s sisters. “You can, like, go see, like, your boyfriend now.”

“I told you for the zillionth time, he’s NOT my boyfriend!”

“Like, chill out Misty. We’re like, totally sorry. I didn’t know you have like, two boyfriends, with this guy, like, cuddling with you. He’s like, kind of cute.” There he was, uncontrollably cuddling like a three-year old to Misty. Markus. {Get out your calendars and write this down: Markus in love with Misty!? As Double D from Ed, Edd, and Eddy: Good Lord Man!}

“Markus, what are you doing!?” Misty yelled, whispering.

“Oh, sorry. I just like you. And we just met.”

Misty looked creeped out. A thirteen-year-old hanging out with four ten-year-olds? That’s just wrong.

“Just, like, go with them, Misty,” said Lily.

“Okay,” Misty sighed. She grabbed her bag and set off with Markus and the gang.

“Wait, aren’t you like, forgetting something?”

"No.”

“Let me refresh your memory, like, here. Just because you’re Misty’s friends.” Violet handed over four Cascade Badges. Markus and John were drooling, and couldn’t snap out of it. Caley and Carla started snapping their fingers and waving their hands and nothing happened. Markus and John were out cold.

Misty did her usual routine with Brock, pulling them both by the ear. Markus and John kept saying “Ow, not the ear!”

Carla and Caley took out their badge cases and placed their badges in. They followed.

“Ah, it is so grand to be me again,” Misty said as the five of them walked out to their next gym battle.

Sorry for the inconvenient lateness, as I was working on my forum. I am so sorry. I will promise to work even harder on the next installment of all three stories. Well, I’m outta here. I’ve noticed that my Vampyro is in serious trouble. He filled the house up with Swoopula! I’ll go get the Pokéxterminator.
