Episode Four: Float Like a Butterfree, Sting Like a Beedrill

Disclaimer: Sorry I took so long to make Part 4. Grade 7 (yes I'm 12) homework kept taking my precious time away! One assignment took me 1 1/2 hours just to do 25 questons (I have to copy and answer questions! UGH!) And just for you to know, Jonathan is me...but the name is Denny and I do have an Aggron in my party. Anyways, A night to Remember is doing fine and this will just keep getting more sweet reviews! And speaking of which, review my stories!

“Guys, slow down! I just fought my battle and you guys keep dragging me along,” said Carla, all sleepy and exhausted.

“Well, we do have another day ahead of us,” said Markus, “so if we can reach Pewter by nightfall, we can have our gym battle tomorrow.”

"Well let’s go!” said John with glee.

The trio of trainers wandered throughout the Viridian Forest, checking out the wild Pokemon. They saw a ton of Bug-type Pokemon as well as a couple of other Pokemon as well.

    “Sentret!” said a Pokemon.

“A Sentret! Awesome!” shouted Markus. “I’m going to catch it!” He threw out Metapod’s Pokeball. “I choose you, Metapod!”

    “Metapod!” said Metapod happily.

“Sentret!” Sentret was preparing for a Tackle attack.

“Metapod, slow it down with String Shot!” commanded Markus.

Metapod nodded and a shot of string was sent towards Sentret. It stopped dead in its tracks. Sentret couldn’t move at all.

    “Metapod, Tackle it!” said Markus.

“Meta-POD!” Metapod’s hard body inflicted a ton of damage on Sentret.

“All right! Go, Pokeball!” said Markus.

The Pokeball was thrown towards Sentret. It was in the Pokeball, now the counter at five. The ball shook and almost opened at three, but it was caught eventually.

“ALL RIGHT! I caught a Sentret!”

“Meta-PODDDDDD!” Metapod said, glowing a bright white. It is evolving!

“Yes! The final evolution!” said Markus happily.

    “Butterfree!” said the Pokemon.

“A what?” asked John, flipping out his Pokedex.

~ Butterfree: the Butterfly Pokemon. Butterfree flutter about in fields, leaving spores and collecting nectar, and at some points, they do cord ship dances for their mates. ~

“Oh, so it’s a Butterfree,” said Carla. “It’s cute!”

“Yeah, and also, it is pretty good when it comes to its Psychic attacks like Confusion,” said Markus as if he were Prof. Oak at a speech.

“Okay, if Metapod just evolved, I guess Kakuna is ready too, don’t you guys think so?” asked John.

“Yeah, I guess so,” responded Carla and Markus in unison.

    “Mankey!” said another Pokemon.

“What’s that Pokemon?” asked John, flipping out his Pokedex yet again.

~ Mankey: the Pig Monkey Pokemon. Mankey are usually calm but when annoyed or hit with something, it will thrash without getting tired to see its opponent fall. ~

“All right, it is a Fighting-type! That will be essential in my team! Go, Kakuna!”

“Kakuna!” Kakuna made its fighting stance.

“Go Kakuna! Poison Sting!” commanded John.

"Ka—ku—na!” Kakuna sent out tens of Poison Sting attacks straight at Mankey. Mankey got furious at the cocoon Pokemon and executed a Low Kick attack.

“Kakuna, Harden! Make Mankey’s attacks inflict less damage on you! Then continue on with the Poison Stings!”

“Ka—Kuna!” Kakuna kept hardening and sent out massive Poison Stings towards Mankey. It fainted.

“All right, Pokeball, go!” John’s Pokeball was thrown to Mankey and was placed in it. Five…four…three…two…one…Mankey was then thrown out. “No good,” said John. “All right then, Kakuna, Poison Sting one more time!”

“Ka—Kuna!” Kakuna connected blows with Mankey. Poisonous needles were flying in every direction. Mankey was then hit by a few of them. It was weary and exhausted this time around, and Kakuna was running out of energy.

“That’s it! Pokeball go!” John said, hoping for the wild Mankey to be captured.

The Pokeball was thrown, aiming at the wild Pokemon. It was in the Pokeball, the countdown at five…then four. John was nervous. He needed a new Pokemon for his team. One…zero! John has caught a Mankey! Suddenly, Kakuna was glowing a bright white. It was evolving!

“Uh—huh! Kakuna is evolving! I like…I like very much!” said John happily.

“Beedrill!” said the new Pokemon. John, again, took out his Pokedex, and found information on the new Pokemon, and so did Carla.

~ Beedrill: The Poison Bee Pokemon. Beedrill are always fierce and always attack their opponent frantically. They never back down from a challenge, even against a Pokemon with a type advantage. ~

    “Awesome!” said John.

“That leaves me,” said Carla. All Carla had was her Charmander and a Pidgey while Markus has a Sentret, a Butterfree, and a Bulbasaur. John has a Mankey, a Squirtle, and a Beedrill.

And to Carla’s surprise, a Pokemon appeared. “Poliwag!” said the Pokemon.

“A what?” asked Carla, scanning Poliwag.

~ Poliwag: The Tadpole Pokemon. Poliwag only learn a few attacks before evolving, but to most trainers, its Hypnosis attack can stall the battle for a few turns, letting the trainer switch out Pokemon and defeat it in a breeze. ~

“A Water-type Pokemon is not bad for me,” said Carla. “All right, I’m going to catch it and have a team of three. Let’s go, Pidgey!” Carla threw her Pokeball and Pidgey emerged.

“Poli—WAG!” Poliwag executed a Bubble attack on Pidgey, with the success of lowering its speed.

    “Pidgey, Tackle it!” commanded Carla.

“Pi—DGEY!” Pidgey executed a Tackle attack to perfection, even with the speed of it slowed down. Poliwag was then unconscious for a while and then got back up in a moment’s notice. It spun its little hypnosis wheel.

“Oh no, Carla! Watch out! It’s Poliwag’s Hypnosis attack! Quick, make Pidgey keep no eye-contact with it!” Markus warned.

“Okay! Pidgey, close your eyes!” Carla commanded. “Keep them shut!”

Pidgey nodded at Carla’s orders, then closed its eyes tightly, while the hypnotic waves were nearing it. Pidgey didn’t fall asleep, at least not yet.

“Poli—wag wag wag wag!” Poliwag kept chanting, while its swirl kept spinning around and around again and again. John, Markus and Carla were getting drowsy.

“Pidgey, keep them closed! Then go forward a little!”

Pidgey kept its eyes closed and crept closer to Poliwag.

“All right, Pidgey! You are in front of Poliwag! Now, hit it with a Gust attack! But keep your eyes closed, because it is still using Hypnosis!”

Pidgey nodded to nothing, then executed a powerful Gust attack and Poliwag was caught in it, flying in swirls and circles, then fell atop a rock near the creek in the forest. It was tired, and the swirl in its belly stopped swirling.

“All right, Pidgey, open your eyes! Now, Pokeball, go!” Carla said.

Pidgey opened its eyes, just in time to see the Pokeball being flung at Poilwag. Poliwag still had a lot of fight in it and slapped the ball with its tail.

“NO WAY!” said Carla, disappointed. “All right, I’ll just have to keep up the attacks. Pidgey, Tackle attack, NOW!”

Pidgey dived towards Poliwag and Poliwag was hurt, with scars and beak marks all over its face. It was exhausted, but its spirit was still super strong. It used Bubble again and Pidgey was hurt, and again, more Speed was lost.

“Oh great,” said Carla sarcastically. “That’s it, I’m going to try to catch it again! Pokeball, go!” Carla angrily threw the Pokeball at Poliwag and was placed inside. Carla was relieved a little. Five…four…nope! The Pokeball opened, emerging Poliwag. Its endurance was just too high. “Argh!” Carla got furious. She commanded Pidgey to use Sand-Attack and then a Tackle, which it did, and then she threw the Pokeball yet again. Poliwag was placed inside. Five…four…three…two…one…ZERO! After all of that struggling and hope, she has finally caught a Poliwag!

    “Congrats, Carla!” said John.

“Thanks. Now return, Pidgey. You deserve a fine rest, indeed.”

The trio were happy now, each with a team of three and two evolved Pokemon. They were glad that they are now headed towards Pewter City and their first gym battle.
