Episode Seven: My New Hombre, Lombre Disclaimer: Hey guys. There's this site I went on and I'm doing so much work on it. Pokemon Colosseum is being played, too, so you have to be more patient than you had to be a long time ago. Okay? I so far got 13 reviews. I got 6 for Markus's Adventure! And thank you all for voting for me for a reader's choice award! Now, enjoy Markus's Adventure Episode Seven: My New Hombre, Lombre!

Markus is in the Pokemon Center, reading a magazine called “My Pokemon and Me: What to Use in Battles”. He read an article on Lombre, a Grass/Water type that has pretty good statistics and skills, like Hydro Pump at level 49.

‘Wow, it would be pretty cool to have one of those,’ Markus thought.

After the battle, the Pokemon and their levels are as follows for Markus: [Note: These attacks are from the new games coming up: Fire Red and Leaf Green. I used a certain website’s Pokedex link to find out these attacks, so if you don’t believe me, go to serebii.net to find out or pokemonfanuniverse.com [just look for RS/FR LG Attacks, okay?]]

A Male Furret at level 16. Its attacks? Iron Tail [TM 23], Quick Attack, Scratch, and Fury Swipes. Also, a Male Bulbasaur at level 15. Its attacks? Vine Whip, Leech Seed, Tackle and Poison Powder. And finally, a Level 14 Male Butterfree who knows Confusion, Stun Spore, Poison Powder, and Tackle.

John, desperate to get a date, was leaning on the window’s ledge, hand holding his head, examining the view outside of Pewter. His Pokemon were beside him, already recovered. His Level 15 Squirtle, who knows Tackle, Bubble, Withdraw, and Water Gun. Also, his Male Level 14 Beedrill, knowing Fury Attack, Poison Sting, Harden, and String Shot. Finally, his Male Level 14 Mankey only knowing these moves: Low Kick, Karate Chop, Scratch, and Leer. All of them were sleeping.

Carla was also reading magazines with Markus, one called “Pokemon and Me: What Not to do in Pokemon Contests”. She read that no Pokemon should use the same attack twice in their appeal or they’ll lose half their score for that attack. Her Pokemon currently with Nurse Joy are:

A Level 16 Female Poliwag who knows Hypnosis, Bubble, and Water Gun. Her Male Level 14 Charmander who knows Metal Claw, Ember, Scratch, and Growl. Finally, a Male Level 14 Pidgey who knows Gust, Tackle, Quick Attack, and Sand-Attack.

Carla’s Pokemon were now returned to her, and the trio set off to Route 3.

“Well, we beat Brock, our Pokemon are stronger, but we need at least six by the time we meet Misty in Cerulean. Let me check my PokeComp,” said Markus.

“Well, look in there, Markus,” replied Carla.

“Char!” said Carla’s Charmander.

“Here we go!” yelled Markus. John and Carla rushed to his side.

~ Misty: the Water Gym Leader of Cerulean City. She owns the following Pokemon: Horsea, Staryu, Starmie, Corsola, Politoed, Psyduck, and a Togepi which she never uses. ~

“Whoa. We’ll need powerful Pokemon to beat that Politoed! Just look at the level! Level 26! That’s just too strong!” panicked John.

“Lombre!” said a wild Lombre.

“It’s a Lombre! I’m catching it!” exclaimed Markus.

“Hmm…” said Carla, flipping out her Pokedex.

~ Lombre: The Jolly Pokemon. Lombre are often mistaken for lily pads when swimming underwater, so whenever a Pokemon or person steps on it, it starts to get angry and execute powerful Grass and/or Water attacks. ~

“That could be useful against Misty,” said Carla loudly.

“All right, Butterfree, let’s go!” yelled Markus. “Tackle it now!”

Butterfree tackled the Lombre. It swiftly dodged the attack.

“Wow! That thing’s fast!” John exclaimed.

“I know. That’s what makes it so cool!” shouted Markus.

The wild and angry Lombre dived into the clear, calm, and crisp water of Route 3. It swam upon dozens of Lotad, other Lombre, and the head lily pad honcho, Ludicolo. Often joined with Poliwags, Poliwhirl, and Poliwrath, the group of six different breeds of Pokemon gathered near the lily pad leader, and hailed to him. The Lombre that Markus was trying to catch was not listening and started to swim in semi-circles around the group of Pokemon.

“Butterfree, Tackle the moving Lombre!” commanded Markus with a grin on his face, although hiding his true emotions; fear, hope, scared.

Lombre swiftly dodged the Tackle attacks consecutively, swimming in the same way, but in different spots. Butterfree was getting confused. Its eyes became little swirls on his delicate bug face. Markus didn’t want it to get too confused that he’ll hurt himself, so he automatically took out his Pokeball, returned Butterfree and threw Furret’s, all in one swoop notion. He returned Butterfree and sent out Furret.

“Quick Attack! Make sure Lombre doesn’t leave your sight!” Markus said with yet another grin on his face.

Furret nodded and started running at 100mph, aiming straight at Lombre. It looked as if Furret was simply walking on water—dodging Water, Water/Fighting and Water/Grass Pokemon there were in the small, clear, crisp, cool lake of Route 3.

“Now Furret, it is getting close to you! Use Iron Tail!”

“FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRETTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!” Furret executed an Iron Tail attack to perfection; nailing the jumpy Lombre on the lily pad it calls a head. It was considered unconscious. Little eyes were replaced with small, little swirls.

“Markus, you better catch it before it regains consciousness!” John warned with a warning look on his face.

“Duh! Like I don’t know that!” Markus snapped. “Pokeball, go!”

The Pokeball hit Lombre on the head, making it lose consciousness again, right before it regained its composure.

“Fur…fur…ret…fur…” Furret panted, sweat beaming down its cute little cheeks.

Four…three…KABOOM! The ball burst open and returned to Markus’s hand. “It’s a no-go,” he said to his buddies.

“That Lombre sure has a tough spirit. Do you think Vital Spirit is its ability?” John asked.

“I’ll answer it later, John. Right now, I have to catch this Lombre!” Markus snapped.

“Stubborn,” Carla said to John.

“Furret, Fury Swipes!” Markus ordered sharply, not knowing the fact that he’s leaning on nothing but thin air.

“Markus, watch out for the…” Carla warned.

Markus tilted right, falling into the shallow deep lake where the six breeds of Pokemon were. He felt queasy.

Furret felt scared and ran swiftly and quickly to its trainer. Lombre, thinking it was a lure, didn’t come to view the pain and suffering Markus went through for that moment.

“Markus, are you okay, man?” John asked.

“Yes, I’m fine. A little uneasy and queasy, but other than that, all right,” Markus replied weakly.

Lombre stood there, staring at Markus. “Lom?” it asked, tilting its head.

“Fur fur fur!” Furret said angrily.

“Bre? Lomb!” said Lombre, sweat beaming down its lily pad. It must’ve been told about the predicament. Lombre walked by swiftly, like a spy, tracking down the trainer trio.

The trio of trainers ignored all trainers expecting battles with them and headed straight for the hospital. They reached the receptionist and gently placed Markus on the half hard, half soft couch in the lobby.

“Miss, I…” Carla started.

“…Would LOVE for you to go on a date with me!” finished John. Markus didn’t chuckle, nor the receptionist.

Carla pushed John, disgusted and really finished, “My friend is suffering from head trauma. Is there anything you or we can do to help?”

The receptionist nodded and pointed to the nearest double sliding door and said two words, “Room 407.” Carla and John ran to Room 407 in the Head Trauma Clinic. After a half-hour of searching, they laid eyes upon that door. They rushed in and told the doctor everything.

“Well, you should’ve been watching your step there, young man. What do you have to say for yourself?”

Markus just looked petrified. He was frozen solid. He didn’t budge at all.

“We have to begin the procedures immediately. Flashlight?”

The nurse, Kennedy, handed the doctor a flashlight and he examined Markus’s big melon he calls a head.

What felt like hours was only a couple of minutes. Markus’s Furret, Bulbasaur and Butterfree just looked at him with discouraged faces, scared [Just for you to know: Furret let them out.]

“Relax. He’ll be okay,” said John, looking at his own PokeComp and looking at the Guidebook features. He read about Cerulean City, that Daisy, Violet, and Daisy are considered the Gym Leaders, but swim for their fans and let Misty, who they call runt, is the caretaker of the Pokemon there. He had little hearts in his eyes as he saw the three beautiful women.

Carla was so worried about Markus. She had her hands right on her lap, just staring at Markus. Not because she liked him, oh no. Just because she was so worried about him and the Lombre incident.

“John, I’ll be back,” Carla said. ‘I just can’t wait for my sweet revenge to that Lombre that caused this!’ Carla thought.

She stomped out of the hospital, anger steaming in her once aqua-blue eyes. She grasped one of her Pokeballs and threw it. The Pokemon revealed was Pidgey. She knew Flying-types had an advantage against Grass-types and knew that Astonish, a Ghost-type attack, had no effect on Normal types.

“Pidgey, find Lombre and use Quick Attack!”

Pidgey nodded and soared through the skies of Route 3, searching overhead the magnificent birds-eye view. A torn-down Pokemon Center was there, along with some tractors, cranes, and other construction vehicles. Then, Pidgey spotted the cool, small, clear lake that the few water Pokemon dwelled in and found that perky Lombre swimming in the water. Pidgey pointed at Lombre with its left, beige wing to Carla, and she ran to Lombre, Pokeball in hand. Pidgey whacked Lombre with full force.

“For you, Markus!” she yelled, throwing the empty red-and-white Pokeball at Lombre. Lombre had no choice but to get hit with it.

Pidgey cooed a little, and flapped its wings to Carla. It landed on her left shoulder. The Pokeball kept rattling and shaking. Five, four, three, two, one, ZERO! Lombre, after an hour of attempted catches, was finally caught!

Pidgey and Carla rushed back to the hospital. As Carla walked in, she returned Pidgey. She wandered throughout the hospital, taking the same route as how she got there. She finally approached room 407 happily, and went in. Markus was sitting on the left edge of the bed, having a nice hot mug of hot cocoa, John by his side.

“Hey guys. How are you feeling, Markus?” she asked.

“Pretty well,” replied Markus with bandages all over his head. Although he still had a little pain in his head, the doctor said that he should take off the bandages tomorrow morning. Other than that, he was packed up and ready to head out.

“Here,” said Carla, handing him the Pokeball.

Markus said, “Thank you,” and opened the Pokeball and saw Lombre.

“That same Lombre?”

“Yes,” replied Carla. She blushed.

“Thanks,” replied Markus, not noticing he was blushing.

“Someone’s in lu-ove!” John said in singsong.

“Stop it!” said Markus and Carla in unison.

The trio just left the building only to hear a shriek of terror.

“What was that?” asked Markus.

“I don’t know, but we’ll find out sooner or later!” John replied, running toward the shriek’s direction.

What is in store for our trainers next? Find out next time!
