“All right, Charizard, return!” said Ash, grabbing May by the hand, letting her drop down off Charizard’s back.

ROAR! Charizard roared a little loudly, making a few of the townspeople panicky.

“The…chosen one…has returned,” said the head of the town.

“Chosen one?” May asked dumbfounded.

“Well, it’s like this May…” Ash began but then got cut off by Melody’s sweet voice. He turned to see her.

“Hey Ash! How are you and your so-called girlfriend doing?” Melody asked, teasing Misty and Ash a little.

“Pretty well,” Ash responded to the teasing. “I’m here to ask if…wait one moment May and Misty.” He then whispered something in Melody’s ear, covering the voices with his right hand. Melody winked after the whisper and said, “Okay” very quietly.

“All right ladies, what do you say to a fancy dinner at the Shamuti Restaurant?”

“That place is supposed to be, like, one of the greatest restaurants ever!” said Misty as if she were one of the other Sensational Sisters.

“Misty, you just sounded like Lily there,” laughed Ash.

“Starting to rub off of me, huh?” laughed Misty as well.

‘Maybe sooner or later, you will be much more prettier than them,’ Ash thought. “You guys joining me or not?” he then asked aloud.

When the trio of lovebirds reached the restaurant, Melody and some other townsfolk were there with instruments, almost ready to play some songs. Melody, instead of playing the shell instrument, was now playing a saxophone. Someone else was playing the piano. Ash, May, and Misty knew that they were going to play a jazz hit.

“We dedicate this song to Ash Ketchum and his well, two girlfriends!” Melody said aloud. ‘Although he should be mine’ Melody thought.

The group of townspeople started playing a slow jazz hit, and people were starting to ask the ladies for a dance. Ash noticed this. So, he asked Misty first, “Would you care to have this dance with me?” very charmingly.

“Why sure!” Misty responded happily. Ash grabbed her by the hand and then, at that sudden moment, he felt two feelings, one nervous, and the other, warm.

The duo danced in the ballroom, like a married couple. They didn’t know that they can dance pretty well.

“You know, Ash, you are a pretty good dancer,” Misty commented sweetly.

“Thanks. You too,” replied Ash charmingly.

When the song was over, the duo stopped dancing, but never let go of their hands.

Melody and the townsfolk started playing another jazz hit, a little more high in the tempo. Ash knew May liked to dance to somewhat fast music. So he asked to May, “Would you like to dance with me?”

May replied with a single nod and said, “Sure will!” very sweetly.

The two danced to the upbeat music, Melody getting furious at Ash. Good thing he didn’t notice this.

After the dancing was over, Ash went over to talk with Melody over a few things, specifically romance. They walked to the main hall of the restaurant, not even noticing that waiters and waitresses were in their way.

“Melody, I need…”

“You need this, you need that! You know Ash, just because I love you doesn’t mean I’m supposed to be your slave! I can’t tolerate this anymore so you know what, Mr. Ash Ketchum? We’re THROUGH!” Melody yelled with rage.

“Wait a minute, Melody…First of all, we’re in a restaurant, and second of all…”

“SHUT UP! I just want you to…shut up…” said Melody, sobbing, then crying.

“Melody, here…” Ash began again.

Melody slapped Ash in the face. Ash felt rejected. His left cheek was completely red, and then his whole face did, with anger and a lot of rage. Ash then ran towards Melody and slapped her—hard. Melody got furious and started to fight with him. They both felt rejected, then it came to an abrupt halt.

Ash sighed, “Why are we acting like babies? We’re almost thirteen!”

“I guess you’re right…but I am still 11 you know…it’s only been a year since we’ve met,” said Melody.

“Oh…I was eleven and you turned eleven a few days before we’ve met, and I met before…oh…now I understand [Ash met Melody now BEFORE her 12th B-Day].”

“All right, Melody, so what are you trying to get off your back?” Ash asked.

She was nervous, and just like Ash does it, she rubbed the back of her neck furiously.

“Well, you know I said ‘I love you’ a while back and kissed you when you came here as the Chosen One a year ago, right?”

“Where are you going to, Melody?” asked a confused Ash.

“Chu-cha Pika-pi [Ash, she’s going to kiss you again]!”

Melody blushed and then said, “Pikachu’s right.”

Ash stopped dead in his tracks. Did he hear that correctly? Does he have a Tentacool in his ear? He just stood there, asking a million questions to himself.

Melody leaned forward, grabbed his starting-to-clear-the-red-away face and kissed him on the lips passionately [Boy, does Ash get a lot of kisses!], that, to Melody, the whole world was spinning.

Then, she was gone. Without a trace at all, not even a clue or shout. She just…vanished. Ash ran back to the dining area, to the table where he, May and Misty were sitting. No one was there. No Togepi, no food scraps at all. Did they leave? Then, Ash noticed a small piece of paper left on the table. He thought it was the bill. He read it. He then was shocked, and started to cry.
