Charizard, Charizard. Chapter one. Ash Ketchum was walking with his friends, Pikachu, Misty and Brock, towards Olivine City, when Ash suddenly threw up for no apparent reason. Misty ran over at once. "Ash, are you OK?" she cried. Ash came to and sat up. "What happened?" asked Brock. "I don't know." Said Ash. "One moment we were just walking along, and then..." "Well, it is you're thirteenth birthday in a weeks time." Suggested Misty. "Yeah, but I didn't think teen nerves would be that powerful. I'm fine now, though." "Well, we'd better stay here for the night any way." Said Brock. "It's getting dark, and the guidebook doesn't mention a Pokemon centre around here." "Pika, Pika." Pikachu agreed, peering over Brocks' shoulder. Over the next few days, Ash didn't improve much. He started passing out too, but the cause remained unknown. But, three days before Ash's birthday, he woke up feeling very strange. It seemed his sense of smell had improved greatly and it felt like electricity was flowing through his body. As he stepped outside his tent, Misty gave him one look and started to scream her head off. Even Brock took a few steps back. "Er, Ash..." Brock stuttered. "Have you looked in a mirror today?" Ash frowned and went back inside his tent for his pocket-mirror. Now he knew why Misty had screamed. His skin had turned yellow, his eyes were small and black and his ears were sticking up on either side. He was turning into a Pikachu. When he woke up, Ash found himself on a bio-bed in a Pokemon centre. He saw a Chanseys' confused face peering down at him. When he tried to lift his head, he bumped it on the glass casing that covered his bed. He looked down at his body and saw that it had shrunk rapidly in size. Ash felt something beneath him and rolled over onto his back. To his absolute horror, he saw a stump of a tail growing from him! Just then, Brock and Misty ran in, followed by Nurse Joy. "Do you know what happened to him?" Misty asked anxiously. "No, it's very puzzling. I can't find any event that even comes close to this." She replied. "How long do you think he has until he completely turns into a Pikachu?" Brock asked. "Only a few days." Misty bent over bed and tapped Ash's the glass. "Is this really necessary?" she asked. "We don't know if it's contagious or not, so we can't be too careful." The nurse said. Misty went back to the glass. "How are you feeling, Ash?" she asked. Ash tried to say but he; "Like a Taurus just charged through my head", he actually said; "Pike chu Taurachi pi chuead." "Hmmm, that's strange." Nurse Joy muttered to herself. She was looking at a monitor screen. "Ash's DNA sample I took just now is identical to his Pikachu's." Suddenly, with no warning at all, Ash's Charizard burst from its' poke-ball, which was on a chair along with Ash's other poke-balls and his jacket. Ash groaned. Every time Charizard came out, it started rampaging. But this time, it looked solemnly over to Ash and, to everyone's amazement, in complete English, said; "So, it is happening to you, too." Misty, of course, started screaming, but one look from 'Charizard' shut her up. "I, er, um, excuse me?" Brock stammered. 'Charizard' sighed. "I feared that someday this might happen. I should have known that I couldn't stop it. You see my name, my human name, is Anthony Ketchum." "But, that would mean, but it's not, I mean..." "Yes, it's true. I am Ash's father."
