The Strangers

Chapter one

My name is Ash Ketchum, a Pokemon trainer and soon to be a Pokemon master. My companions on my journey are Misty, Tracy and Pikachu. I am trying to catch all known

Pokemon and be the greatest trainer of all time. I specialise in battle. My Pokemon are

Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Butterfree, Pidgeotto and Charizard. However, there are three people who would do anything to get their hands on my Pikachu. Their names are,

Jessie, James and Meowth.

The notorious Team Rocket.

The other day I was battling a trainer who had a Horsea, a Spearow and a Raticate. I was using Bulbasaur.

"Bulbasaur, use Razor leaf!" I cried. Flying leaves shot out from Bulbasaurs' bulb and flew towards Spearow.

"Spearow, knock them away with wing attack, then use peck attack!" shouted the trainer.

Spearow knocked the leaves back with its wings and shot forward, holding out its beak.

"Bulbasaur, dodge it!"

"Bulba!"

"Now use tackle!"

"Look out, Spearow!"

"Speeeeer!"

"Yes!" I jumped up in victory then held out one of my poke balls.

"Good work Bulbasaur. You've really improved. Return!"

A beam of red light shot out and sucked Bulbasaur back into the poke ball.

"Good work Ash. That was your sixth victory in a row!" called Tracy.

"You and Bulbasaur always make a great team." called Misty.

"Well, I have been practicing for the next time I meet Gary."

< Don't you ever think about something other than beating Gary? > Asked Pikachu. I'm the only one who understands Pikachus' speech. It's a rare gift some trainers have when they have close relationships with their Pokemon.

"Of course I do, Pikachu. It's just really important to me. He always thinks he's better than everyone else."

"Hey Ash, We'd better get to a Pokemon centre. Bulbasaur hasn't had a rest for a while, and Scyther's been complaining."

Tracy has the rare gift of actually speaking the Pokemon language. He can only manage

Scyther at the moment, but he's working on it.

When we got to the pokemon centre, Nurse Joy took in our pokemon to heal, while we put our feet up for a bit. I must have dozed off, because I had to be shaken to get any response out of.

< Come on Ash, we're all better now, and I need to stretch my legs. > Said Pikachu. I glanced at the clock. All most four.

"Come on, guys, let's get going." I cried, jumping up.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Ash Ketchup and company."

"Gary!" I muttered as I span around. It was indeed my brown haired rival, Gary Oak, Professor Oaks' grandson.

"So, little quest not going on too well?" Gary sneered.

"For your info I just won a match against Spearow with Bulbasaur." I sneered back.

"Oh, come on you two, just get along for once in your life." Sighed Misty.

< Yeah, even I'm tired of listening to you two. > Agreed Pikachu. Just then, the telephone on Nurse Joys' desk started to ring.

"Hello?…………Yes……………Oh. Ash it's for you." Nurse Joy said.

"Hello?"

"Ash!"

"Professor Oak!"

"Ash, you'd better get back here quickly, there's a strange Pokemon invading the lab!"

"All right, on my way!" I put the phone down. "Come on! There's a strange pokemon invading Professor Oaks' lab!"

"Wait for me, Ash!" called Gary.

"Gary?"

"I don't want anything to hurt my Grandfather. Let's work together for once, OK?"

I nodded in agreement. It seemed I would need all the help I could get in beating this strange pokemon.
