	It was a cold and lonesome night in the abandoned gym. Shadows could be 
seen disappearing and reappearing instantaeously all around. Soft sobs could be 
heard as a child cries hunched over a limb form. "No use crying over your father 
Jei. He fought passionetly, but now you must come with me." a voice could be 
heard from a door way as the sobbing stopped and child, Jei, just glares at the 
shilloute of a tall man. "I will never go anywhere with you Uncle Grido!", with 
these words the boy slipped something out of his fathers hand and ran out the 
back entrance of the Training Gym his father had worked so hard to maintain. 
"Father! I will avenge you one day! I swear it on this Pokeball I have in my 
hand!" tears ran down the side of Jei's face as he kept on running through the 
moonlite forest and out into the World, his world, a world of solitude.

	"Alright Machop! Thats the way to show them!", an energetic youth hugged 
his machop tightly as they one their third pokemon battle in a row, this youth's 
name was Jei Alder, an orphaned youth that travelled to Hoenn and became close 
friends with May Birch and her Father Professor Birch. Over the few years that 
Jei was an orphan he learned much from his Machop on the fighting techniques of 
his father, "Machop! MAAAA CHOP!", the machop hugged his trainer back and then 
allowed himself to be called back into his pokeball. "That was a good match Jei, 
Brendan would have fallen down from stress if he faced that many tough battles 
in a row with only a Machop.", May ran up and patted her long time friend on the 
back,"So you ready to meet my father at the lab? He says he has an important 
project for us to work on together!", Jei smiled at may,"Alright, let's go and 
figure it out. Hmmm...how long has it been since brendan left for his pokemon 
journey?", may took awhile to think before responding,"Oh i'd say a year and 
three months, why do you ask?" Jei just smiles as he shakes his head and runs 
off to the Professors lab,"Come on slowpoke! If you go any slower you might just 
evolve into a Slowbro!" at that comment may becomes furious as she chases after 
Jei,"Jei Grant you get back here! UUURHHHH!!!"

	Both May and Jei reach the lab at the same time, jei dodging mays punches 
skillfully while tickling her with a speed faster then his machops,"Seriously I 
wonder sometimes ha ha! How you can- HEH HA!- move that fast jei!", she giggles 
as he tickles him and then he stops responding,"Training my dear friend, for I 
am like water, and water can both flow and crash." he smiles as he sees the 
Professor and waves, both of them being beckoned over by him. "Whats up 
Professor Birch?", Jei asks with a grin as May stands ot his side smiling at her 
father,"Ah yes, Jei, nice to see you and may finally arrived. I would like you 
both to be my Field Assistants and go out and study pokemon for me. It's 
something i've been meanign ot ask the both of you for some time... So how about 
it?"



---Well there you Have it! The prolouge for A Fighters Journey, mind you in the 
beginning I had no idea i'd be adding may birch into this or hoenn but I guess I 
did..alrighty then so go ahead and Email me with suggestions and other fun 
stuff! Expect Chapter 1 as soon as I start it =D---
