Pokemon Wars By PsyChu (Please Note: POKEMON WARS takes place ten years in the future from where the TV show takes place. Now, I hope you enjoy part 3 of POKEMON WARS) Also: Raynor Dakyto's last name is pronounced (Dee-kay-toe) Chapter 3: TR Underground (or The Secrets that Bind Us) "So far no other reports of Pokemon Rampage have been reported, but as of now at least 400 to 500 people are dead, many more are injured, and the bodies of the violent Pokemon who turned on the helpless people of Togo lay untouched around my feet as a reminder of the terror that recently occurred here." Click, the man in the huge chair turned off the TV using a button next to his right arm. Still facing the TV he spoke out to the cloaked man standing in front of his desk. "Well, Raynor, I must say, that little device of yours did wonders for us today. You should be proud of what we have accomplished." Raynor Dekyto, a member of the Knife's Edge, stared blankly at the back of the man's chair, disgusted by what he saw on the TV screen. "And why, exactly, should I be proud?" He asked with a clearly resentful tone in his voice. "Well, I should say for a terrorist your not too bright," the man turned his chair around to face Raynor, his face still concealed by the dark shadows in the room, "this is only the first step in my plan to get back at the Pokemon League for destroying my beautiful foundation. And it wouldn't have been possible without the help of the Knife's Edge." "We're no terrorists, and our idea of a good job is not one where Pokemon get hurt or killed. We embraced your offer of partnership because we thought it would put pressure on the Council to accept us into the Pokemon League Council. But what you did will only make them hate us more. Now they will never accept us." This was clearly not what the man wanted to hear. "Now, Raynor, do mind your tongue around me," the Man replied almost glibly, "I might get angry. Now, I understand that there are many in your faction that believe I'm nothing more than a blood thirsty criminal who only wants to gain power for himself." Slowly, the man began to lean forward in the chair. When his face finally came into the light, it was none other than Giovanni himself. "And I am exactly what they call me. Once, Team Rocket was a criminal power in the Eastern Continent and we extend ourselves across cities and towns from one ocean to the other. Then the Council and that pesky Pokemon trainer Ash Ketchum used Mew and Mewtwo - that damned creation of mine - against me in destroying my Head Quarters and rounding up my many powerful members of TR. Now, I have my chance to take back what was rightfully mine: Total control of the East and West Continents." "You're mad, the Knife's Edge and the Elements will never let you overtake them in the Western Continent. That is our territory and you know it. Not even the League itself has been able to control our presence there." "Yes, Raynor, I know that," Giovanni got up and started walking toward Raynor, "but do you know, that right now I'm not worried about either of those groups? And there is good reason for that." "And what might that be, Giovanni?" "Well, I've lived my life according to the fact that there is no such thing as honesty among criminals. And since Team Rocket has never been partial to competition, it seemed only logical to take them out of the equation. A double-cross, per say." Raynor felt a burning start deep down within him. Everything that he had feared was coming true. Quickly, Giovanni glanced down at his watch, then back at Raynor. "And, right now, I would have to guess that all the Pokemon in Sigma City are turning against their own masters and killing them one by one. Oh my, that would mean they would be killing the members of Knife Edge as well. How tragic." Raynor was both furious and helpless at the same time. He had known that Giovanni was no one to join up with. He had even warned the council of the eminent danger of joining with a well-known conman. But his warnings had fallen upon deaf ears. Now it was too late. But that was not the end of it. As Giovanni walked back over behind his desk, his hand once again hit the TV button on the arm of his chair. On the view screen, images of destruction flashed by. "Static...static...'Arbok, return. What is wrong with you?' People running from left to right...'screaming'...'Charmander, stop you're setting everything on fire!'...'More screaming'...'oh, no my arm...somebody get this thing off my arm!'...'Please help me my baby is on fire'..." And the images just kept flashing by, one after another. They seemed almost endless. Each image contained more blood, destruction, death, and havoc than the one before it. And all Raynor could do was watch and grit his teeth in rage. "It's beautiful isn't it?" There was no response. "Raynor, you're being awfully quiet. Is something bothering you?" Giovanni began to laugh heavily as Raynor's rage grew with every second that passed. "Damn you, Giovanni!" "Oh...didn't I tell you to mind yourself in my presence?" "If you were going to kill all of them then why didn't you kill me too?" Asked Raynor, still enraged. "Well, that would have been a waste. Come one Raynor, you're twice as qualified as any of your fellow Pokemon Trainers. And I figured you would make a perfect addition to Team Rocket. You might even get a bigger position out of this then you ever would have gotten with the Knife's edge." Raynor looked at Giovanni with disgust. "You just don't get it, do you? This was never about bloodshed or domination. This was about making our voices heard for the better of the Pokemon world. What you are doing is destroying it. And I will have nothing to do with you or your plans." Giovanni was very amused by Raynor's valiant words. "You really think it's that easy? Do you really think I would just let you walk out of here patriotically? You're a lot dumber than you look Raynor." "What are you talking about, Giovanni?" "Come this way, and I'll show you." Leading him on, Raynor and Giovanni walked out of the office and into a larger room that was adjacent to it. Inside, there were a lot of computers and electronic screens as well as members of Team Rocket. "Now, I would like to introduce you to some of the newest and deadliest members of the new TR Underground. First there is Zepp, a master of the Dark and Steel Pokemon." Zepp stepped forward. At about 17 years old, he was the youngest of the TR squad members. And as such, he was the most ambitious, not to mention pugnacious. "Yeah, and I'm ready to fight anyone that stands in TR's way!" Slowly, he took a step back to make way for the next TR member. "Next we have Lyn, master of Psychic and Fighting Pokemon. She is also a master of the martial arts." As Giovanni spoke, Lin began took a few steps forward. At 25, she was strikingly beautiful, and just as deadly. She backed down to know opponent, man or woman. And nothing stopped her from getting whatever she wanted. "And...if you know what's best for you, you'll quit wasting time and join us. Otherwise we'll bury you with the rest of your friends." As she turned to walk back to her position, Raynor saw the red "TR" that was printed on the shoulder of her black leather body suit, not to mention the rest of her beautifully evil exterior. Raynor almost wondered how anyone that stunning could be so evil. "Now, now. Let's all play nice. Next we have Tirk, Expert in Dragon and Normal Pokemon..." "Not to mention an expert hacker and mechanical engineer. I can just about break into any system without anyone knowing." Tirk interrupted, speaking with a certain sense of pride in his voice. "And then there are the siblings, Remus and Sky. Remus is the master of Fire Pokemon while Sky is the master of Ice Pokemon. Both are experts in the fields of stealth and robbery. In fact, I've never had a pair quite as good as these two." Remus and Sky were clearly standouts from the rest of the team. They both were dressed in the colors of their respective Pokemon types: Remus in red and Sky in ice blue. Also, what startled Raynor, was that both of them had totally black eyes. And not just in the pupil, but the whole eye. Remus didn't move. Sky on the other hand, stepped forward and spoke for both of them. "Giovanni, this one is no different from the others. Why did you decide to save this one in the first place?" Giovanni walked over to Sky. "Yes," Raynor interrupted, "get to the point already." "Very well. Tirk, please turn on the viewer." Quickly, Tirk responded by rushing over to the computer at the opposite end of the hall and punched in a couple of keys. "This is going to be good." Tirk said under his breath. Afterwards, a picture appeared on the view screen. It was of a city. A very large city...one he didn't recognize at first until... "Oh god," It was Chestnut City, his home town, that was on the view screen, "No, you wouldn't dare!" "Wouldn't what? Kill your family, your friends, neighbors, innocent bystanders..." with that he got right up close to Raynor's ear, "and your little sister?" That was the last straw, Raynor grabbed Giovanni by the throat and was prepared to kill him right there. "You leave Kara out of this, she has nothing to do with it you bastard!" but before he could do anything else to Giovanni, Tirk, Sky, and Remus had gotten a hold of Raynor and pried him off of their boss. Giovanni, having had the wind knocked out of him, staggered over to the wall and attempted to get his feet back underneath him. When he did, he got back over to Raynor, and gave him a stern fist to the jaw. "Never interrupt me when I'm in the middle of gloating about my plan." Raynor slowly turned his head back toward his enemy, the blood trickling from his swollen lower lip. "Now, as I was saying, I have no intention of hurting anyone...including little Kara...at least...not unless I have to." "What do you want, Giovanni?" "I thought you'd never ask." Giovanni motioned to Tirk, who in turn clicked some more keys on the keyboard. Soon, the imaged changed from a picture of Chestnut City to... "Ash Ketchum? What do you want with him?" "I want him dead. And I want you to kill him." "Forget about it, I'm not going to do anything for..." "Before you finish your sentence, just take a second to think about the position you're in. If you don't do this, I can guarantee you that I will make your sisters death the most brutal of all. However, if you do this for me, I will make you very rich and powerful. You'll be able to give your sister everything, and even carve out a little niche for yourself. All I ask of you is that you get rid of Ketchum." Looking Giovanni straight in the eye, Raynor knew he had no other choice. He was stalemated, and as much as he hated Giovanni, he would have to follow what he said. Breaking free from the grasp of the three TR members, he took one last look at the picture of Ash, who was now in his early 20's, and then looked back at Giovanni. "Alright, I'll do your damn dirty work. But if anything happens to Kara or anybody in my family, I swear I will hunt you down. And not even your little band of merry men will save you from the pain I'll show you." Giovanni stared right back at him and replied... "Mmm, delicious." With that, Raynor began to walk out towards the front of the Underground Headquarters, but not before punching in one of the computer screens sitting on one of the nearby desks. "Boss," Lin said, coming up to Giovanni, "do you really think he'll go after Ketchum?" "Don't worry, Lin. He cares about his family so much that he'd go after Dorian himself if I ordered him to." Looking at Lyn, he saw the urgency that was present in her eyes. She wanted Ketchum dead as much he did. "But if it makes you feel any better...Zepp!" "Yeah, Boss." "I've got a job for you. Follow Raynor and make sure he takes care of Ketchum. And don't let him see you." "Consider it done, Boss." As Zepp started to leave, Giovanni pulled him back by his left arm and whispered something in his ear. "Don't fail me Zepp. If Raynor doesn't kill Ketchum, then make sure you kill them both. Either way, don't come back until Ketchum is 100% dead. Do I make myself clear?" "Crystal," responded Zepp, whose arm was starting to sear with pain from the pressure that Giovanni was placing on it. When Giovanni finally did let go, Zepp once again headed toward the front of the complex. Only this time he was holding his left arm in agony. Once he was he was gone, Giovanni slowly turned towards the face of his destruction and his resurrection, Ash Ketchum. "Well, Mr. Ketchum, in another time, I might have said 'prepare for trouble' but now, it wouldn't do justice to the amount of fire and brimstone I'm about to bring down on your head." And with that, Giovanni walked back toward his office, his laughter growing with each step he took back into the recesses of his own little world of destruction.
