Author's Note: PLEASE READ all previous chapters before this chapter. Richard, Ash and Misty don't think that Jameson is a reformed crook because that isn't showing to their investigations. Because of this, you may jump to a conclusion that Misty and Richard are the "good guys". Well, maybe they ARE, but you're supposed to read all the chapters before this anyways. Also: Satoshi Yakamura is NOT to be mistaken with Satoshi from the Japanese cartoon and game, or Satoshi Taijiri (if that's how his name's spelt), who is the maker of pokémon. *** *** Character traits *** *** 9. She got up and put her clothes on, and when she opened the door of her room and went downstairs for breakfast, she was halted by her 3 sisters. Misty yawned. "What is it this time?" She asked, already getting fed up of family. The 2nd youngest (the youngest was Misty) Cerulean sister, Lily, stepped up. "Something's happened to Richard," Lily told Misty, handing her a newspaper article. What Misty seen on the article shocked her. 16 YEAR-OLD TEEN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT AND/OR UNPROVOKED CITIZEN'S ARREST Victim left and now missing, teen who is known as Richard or Richie of the Indigo league top 8 has been arrested. 16-year old teenager Richard native to this city has been arrested for assault using a pokémon. It is rumored that he is friends with the Cerulean sisters, the Indigo pokémon league champion Ash Ketchum and Manuel Zimmerman, who was killed yesterday night (front page). His parents have not yet been contacted, and it is said that they were going out for another month before returning for Richard. "It's just a rebel act of violence," Officer Jenny tells us, and concludes, "his parents should never have left him on his own to do this so late at night. We need that curfew to come sooner or later." The victim, who Richard chased and attacked with a Raichu, was male and had, according to Officer Jenny, black hair, blue jeans, a cautious expression and a high-pitched voice for a male and seemed to be in his early- twenties... Misty stopped reading the article. She was steamed and upset. She knew that Richard didn't do what he did for a bad cause. It was James that he was after, James of team rocket, and team rocket was after Misty, Ash and Richard somehow. Misty didn't say a word about what happened the previous night to their sisters and simply stated, "that's weird." "Yeah, like, I know, I thought he was, like, really nice, or something." It was Lily, replying with the same tone as Misty. Misty couldn't help but sigh. Those Cerulean city police are quick to come to conclusions nowadays, she mused. "Heard of what happened to Manuel?" Misty questioned the gym leaders. They nodded. "This is probably all, like, linked, or, whatever," Daisy muttered, the oldest of them at 25 but still talking like a 14 year-old. Misty, still startled by the newspaper report, walked down the steps to the main room in the private area and turned right to the dining room for breakfast. One sister, Lily, ran down the steps and asked Misty, this time surprisingly in a normal, adult voice, "what happened to Richard? Do you know?" It was unlike Lily to be this nervous, or seem this nervous, for that matter. Misty looked at Lily, and noticed her expression was, for the first time, dark and scared, probably for Richard. "Well..." Misty didn't know what to say. Whatever it was she got herself into, it sure wasn't safe to get into, and she especially didn't want her older sisters to get into it. But Lily was a little more caring and emotional recently. Or maybe it was just another crush on Richard, Misty mused. Misty was racking her brain on what to say next. However, it was probably best to not say anything at all, which she did. Lily looked down, shook her head, and walked back upstairs to where the other sisters where as Misty sat down on a chair, rubbing her temples. "What is it, inspector?" It was Officer Jenny, sitting on one end of the chief inspector Satoshi Yakamura's desk. The inspector was looking a little different than usual, as he was now getting a little bit balder and he seemed a little taller, but Jenny shrugged it off immediately. "Officer Janet, this time you've done it with those troublesome teenagers. Good job." Jenny almost objected to the name "Officer Janet". Satoshi raised his hand for her to shake it. Right when Jenny was about to shake his hand, Satoshi's hand instead moved upward and slapped her face hard. Jenny quickly sifted her face back to a forward position. Satoshi continued shouting, "is this what you expected, for locking up some kid all of a sudden? No questions answered? Richard, who has no previous criminal experience, has something to tell you and you don't say anything and bring out the handcuffs? Don't ask, don't tell, is that your policy?!" Jenny swallowed. "Well, I don't think so-" The inspector stood up instantly, putting his arms on the desk and giving it a violent shake. "You don't think so?! Of course you do! You don't know jack shit about this incident, and you have shared your so-called wise assumptions to the media. Fuck it all, Jenny, get that kid out, and get him out fast!" He looked back at the wall. Jenny slowly but insistently stood up and left the inspector's office, a shiver coming down her spine. When the door shut the inspector looked back from the wall. "Good," he quietly announced to himself, "so far, they don't know that I am Giovanni." Misty was walking over to Cerulean city juvenile correctional hall with looks that could kill as she walked over to Cerulean jail with anger and admittent confusion. Why would anyone want to kill Manuel? Why did they kill Manuel? And why is James undercover? She couldn't answer these, not without risking a lot. Enough, Misty decided, now was the not the time to think about this. She had to ask Richard what happened first. Already she could see, amidst the stream of buildings, a huge building which she had identified as the juvie hall. Misty walked quicker through the busy streets as she came closer to the prison... Misty looked at the prison and black gates and red walls covered with barbwire could be seen blocking the entrance. Beside some gates there was a wall panel, which looked like a speaker with a green button under it. She wondered how to use it... "Hey, don't even bother with that device, it's as useful as windows 2000," uttered a voice behind Misty. Misty turned around and-what the?! "Richard, how'd you get past security?" Already he had his regular non-penal clothes on, his pokémon back on his waist belt and a lollipop in his mouth. Richard shrugged at Misty's question. Misty looked quizzical, scratching her head. "Well, Misty, some guards asked me, "is this Richard?" Then, I say, "yes," and then they tell me that I can go and they escort me to the exit. Of course, Officer Jenny said sorry and gave me my pokéballs on the way, including that Raichu she confiscated, and they opened the gates and I left!" Misty's eyes widened. "How-what-" Richard laughed, and commended, "Misty, I'm surprised that you can comprehend the source of the confusion itself. How, and what. Genius." Misty rolled her eyes. "I guess that you're right, if you're standing right here. But, what happened to James?..." Jameson was just out from the pokémon center and just leaving town, polishing the pokéball of his recovering pokémon, Victreebell, whilst walking through Cerulean city. I'll be safe when I leave this place, Jameson thought, well, maybe. Jameson was already seeing the green a short distance away. Jameson sat down on a bench when he found one, and he took out a map from his backpack. He pointed at the area of the map that was, according to Jameson's calculations, Route 5. "Yes, Route 5," Jameson thought out loud, "to Vermillion city." Jameson took out his backpack, placed the map back inside, rebalanced the backpack on his shoulders and continued on toward the green. Route 5-10:00 The person known as "A", working for intelligence operations rather than command plans unlike his friend, also known as "A", was walking through Route 5, expressionless. A knew what his orders were from the boss: "ambush James and bring him here". However, A, because of his whiteshirt rank, wasn't that expendable so he hadn't ambushed anyone in a long time. This made him nervous, especially if James brought his pokémon outside with him. If Raticate came along with James, he would be good as dead. He knew that team rocket assumed that James would be going to Vermillion city using the newly-built underground path at the end of Route 5. The entrance was via a small building with one guard, who had to be eliminated first before waiting for James there was possible. Ah, there it is, A thought. A small building with a long, red, antennae-like pole beside it. A tiptoed to the building, fitting on some gloves and raising a pipe. This shouldn't be too hard, A mused, trying to cool himself down as he arrived at the entrance, sliding on a conservative business coat. A quickly barged in, opening the door with his right hand and carrying the pipe right behind him with his left hand. The building was made up of one single room, which had a plant on one corner, a guard on an opposite corner, and a passageway down to the underground tunnel in the center of it all. The guard was female and it wasn't Officer Jenny but just a simple, female police officer. A was walking to the passageway when he heard, "hey, what's with the white pants and no tie? Coat off, please," it was the guard, aiming a pistol at his head. She still didn't see his pipe, which he hid behind him. "Coat... Off?" A laughed loudly, and kept laughing until the guard laughed in unison. There, he thought, now she's under my spell. A brandished the pipe across the guard's chin. Her neck snapped back, and she fell down to the ground, dead. A put the pipe down, held the dead officer by the legs, and dragged her down the stairs in the center of the room until the dead body was at the bottom of the flight, and then A let go of the body, walked up the stairs and waited by the door. Jameson walked down the field, Victreebell's pok?ball back at his waist, and now completely unarmed. Wonder what happened to Cassidy, Jameson thought, and then he mused, I sure hope I don't see her again. James kept walking beside the road until he found a small building with a long pole beside it. Ah, Jameson thought, so this is the underground path to Vermillion I must cross. Jameson walked down to the building, and found a door. He opened it and went inside, yawning. Jameson closed the door behind him when suddenly, James heard a loud 'clang' and he fell to the ground, uncouncious. The last thing Jameson heard before he was out was a voice, the voice of a male saying, "Kadabra, come out and teleport us."
